We've been too defensive last 15 minutes. Sterling not on it, Mount ok and Kane very good. Phillips very good, both wing backs easily the best players. Trippier motm for me so far, marginally ahead of Shaw.

First half over, not a bad game but also not great. Wouldn't mind it stay like this though, with Luke being the winning goal scorer.

Enjoyable first half of football, early goal made sure it wasn't a tense cagey affair.
Italy improved a little bit by the end of the half, though scoring will be pretty damn hard. England's defense is having a superb game. Very organized and closing all spaces.

The difference between this game and Spain vs Italy. Top game that, whereas this is reminding me of United’s games vs the likes of Burnley, West Brom, and Crystal Palace.

Captain obvious but that was the worst possible thing for Italy. They're doing now what they should have done with the score at 0-0; keeping the ball and making England chase the ball. There's no cutting edge though for Italy.

Watching that sky shot of the goal is so telling - how Shaw started the move and after releasing it was behind Mount yet he was well ahead and the one pushing to get into the box for the goal.

Sterling has been a bit off it. I'd get Rashford on for him at some point, but he could still have a better performance in the second half.
Don't know what else Italy need to do, who they have on the pitch is pretty much who I expect to be able to turn things around, so just need to stop fluffing and take chances, but England have been quite solid at the back.
