Couple things vegetables are carbs. And also it is absolutely imperative they eat different sources of carbohydrates and fats this season to stay healthy and have the energy needed to play a football game
Vegetables are mostly carbs but better carbs, yeah but it shouldn't be their main source of power. Fat is better power.

Pasta is one of the things footballers eat most ffs  it’s a staple pre match meal.
Yeah they do, to get energy up for a couple of hours.

They do not only eat during match day I think, though?

Anyway, I said little carbs, which has unsurprisingly been understood as no carbs.

It's slightly odd that the team in Pre-season are allowed order this type of stuff. They've just had a holiday.

The Irish U21 rugby team stayed in a hotel I was working in years ago for about a week during a training camp and their diet was strict as feck. No cheat days at all. Mash with no butter or salt etc. We felt sorry for the poor lads.

Are we sure this is real? I initially thought it might have been an elaborate Luke Shaw is fat joke.

a few years ago Kyle Walker was in my local absolutely slaughtered on jagerbombs and ordered a cheesy chips from a takeaway nearby. Some of the city coaches were there.

so yes.
Awkward :nervous:

Turns out Pep is human after all!

Carbs isn't the issue, it's processed sugars. If I were in charge, I'd ban dessert.
True. Or eat peanut butter. The danger with eating potatoes or bread for example is that it can make one more of a sugar lover.

Better carbs is a myth... Energy is energy. Your body uses it to function. No idea what fat is better power means.

Mata and Bruno at least going classy with the goats cheese for the apps.

The less said about Greenwood the better...

Just like sugar is sugar. It somewhat is but obviously it's better to eat an apple than sweets.

Fat is better fuel because it doesn't cause as much of a dip afterwards, doesn't get you addicted to sweets and helps massively with your body fat ratio.

Footballers will be great athletes compared to average people anyway as they train too much not to be but it doesn't mean carbs are great and the only fuel that can be used.

EDIT: around 2000 the average body fat in our team was 10 I think. Nev had 12 if the memory serves. Keano was 5 after going low carb. Not to say 10 is bad, because it's still good but is it perfect? No.

Crazy how so many of them eat like 10 year old children. Wonder what the menu of elite athletes from other sports would look like?
It seems like they are picking from a menu. A lot of "chicken supreme", "halloumi fries" and "steak" in there :p

I'd love to see the full menu, though.

This would be my go-to meal:

Starter: pasta salad with spinach, black olives, paprika and avocado.
Main: spicy, lean chicken
Side: fried rice, aromatic mushrooms and a spoon of aioli on the side.
Dessert: none.
Drink: water

That is why no one will remember your name

Where the sun dont shine.
So weird that they turn up at a wee restaurant in Broughty Ferry, on the outskirts of Dundee, although apparently it's where the late great Ralphie Milne used to frequent.

I’m guessing this is a one off, team bonding, cheat meal sort of thing. Can’t imagine them doing cheeseburgers once the season starts.

I was really hoping to see some hard bastard on a Ronaldo-esque level of dedication.

Firstly, that seems fake, secondly what’s wrong with fries, if they are in a restaurant it’s probably a cheat meal. Also I eat sweet potato fries but they aren’t deep fried just pan fried and put in an oven which should be fine, everyone needs fats.

Greenwood is fine by me I don’t particularly like well cooked, I’m more medium but it can mean different things at different places.

Finally though, Luke Shaw’s meal is hilarious.

I remember there was a podcast interview with a rich black athlete and he said, when he took his sister to dinner, she ordered steak well done as well and he had to ask her to either get it medium or order chicken instead. Apparently, its a socio-economic thing with people not being used to ordering rare meat or expensive cuts. Greenwood will learn as he ages and gets used to fine dining. Some of the backlash here is a bit harsh for a teenager.

Normal Bread  that really tickled me for some reason.
Which is what makes me think this is complete garbage.

"Hey we've got the Man Utd squad in for lunch today, what shall we put on the menu?" "I know, how about some normal bread to start?" :houllier:

Of course Jesse the big child wants a plain burger. As for the gunman, we'll let him off with his w.d steak as he is actually a child.

You’re using Keane as an example. Why? He repeatedly states that his obsession with obtaining a lower body fat is the reason he kept getting injured.
