It is funny cause me and Dirty got exactly the same team apart from me having Bachmann who I am not starting.

Thus we are going to have exactly the same points unless we change something.

It is a pretty template team. The only risk is Barnes really who I might change, but noone gives me joy.
The template exists for a reason and most teams will have a mixture of the same players. I did change Reguilon to Coufal though. Looking at my team, Coufal rotates better with my other defenders plus I'm not sure how Nuno will set up this Spurs team. On top of that, if Son is playing as their striker, Reguilon's assist potential will take a hit. The way West Ham play, Coufal should be creating chances a lot.

Barnes is the only punt in my team and I looked around but he's the best option. I already have Raphinha. Benrahma looks excellent but there's no guarantee he will start, especially if they go 3 at the back. Also, I have Antonio so West Ham attack is covered. Buendia is good but I have Ings and their fixtures turn soon... plus feck Dean Smith! That leaves Barnes the only real option but he's dynamite and can bang in some goals if he at least gets 70 minutes per game. It's a risk that I am willing to take.

Ok lad, definites in bold, rest i'm debating still

Sanchez Foster
TAA Shaw
Coufal Tsim White
Salah Bruno
Greenwood Raphinha Gilmour
Ings Antonio Toney

  1. Martinez in there instead of Sanchez
  2. Gray Willock, Grealish, Barnes as other options instead of my lads

Pros and cons of leaving, versus changing?
I think Sanchez is fine. Martinez might start off well but their fixtures fall off a cliff after GW3 and you already have Ings to swap out at that time. You don't want to be doing a GK transfer too. Not worth it. Plus, Villa were conceding a fair bit towards the end of the last season. I think at 5.5, he's going to be a trap long term. Villa are also looking to play a new formation, look what happened to Wolves when they did that. I would just stay away and keep the extra 1 million to spread into your team.

Gray is not someone I've even though about so can't say much about him. Willock and Grealish are risks. The former hasn't even trained with Newcastle and the latter will be massive rotation risk, especially at the start.

Barnes is someone I have so naturally, I'm hot on him. The risk is his minutes. He came off a long injury, Brenton said he isn't ready to go the full 90 and Leicester have so many attackers, he isn't guaranteed a start. I will monitor him and will sub him out if it looks like he's not viable.

Coufal is a solid pick mate, keep him.

Gilmour is fodder. But he does take free kicks so could be the best 4.5 fodder (unless Dewsbury-Hall gets into that Leicester starting 11).

Raphinha is my boy, the most undervalued player in the game. I don't care about fixtures, Leeds can score against anyone and he is electric. He's a keeper.

Not sure about Greenwood. I think he will be ok for the first few weeks. I just hope United can get in behind, which is a worry with Cavani not playing and Sancho not ready.

Your team is fine, don't do too many crazy changes bud.

Edit: Just realized your team is identical to mine except I dont have Greenwood but have Barnes and 0.5 to spare

Can’t afford Shaw and Martinez @Paul_Scholes18 they’re 11 as DeGea and Targett are 10…
If you did downgrade Zinchencho I think then you might be able.

Or you can go Sanchez and Shaw like 90% of us haha.

I think Targett is not a bad punt, but De Gea I am not sure going to play over Henderson all games.

Yeah he’s not my nailed on keeper anyway so can always change back to Henderson.

So from whoscores it says Chambers will start tonight. Is he worth picking over White or is it too risky?

Basically the White slot in my def is the boring long term pick that I never want to play, but if I need to I am happy enough to do it.

I'm not sure whoscored predicted starting line-ups are very reliable, are they?

No I would not trust them for Man City for example.

Still high chance Chambers start, but yeah I am not going to start him before gameweek 4 which is after international break.

Maybe better just go safe with White.

Anyone know who the 5 Everton players are who have Covid?

Is Digne one of them?

Thinking of TC Salah . Won't get a better option than Norwich at Anfield after a long gap.

I know people recommend to wait for double week games but I have never been lucky with that.

Not bloody again. Last season was my best season, but all the crazy double gameweeks and stuff made it really tricky to predict things.

It says Hamez and 4 others. Digne would have been mentioned of he had it.

Everton looks fecked. I'm steering clear of them.
So swapping out Digne is probably advisable then?

The feckers never end up playing enough minutes in the two games anyway.

with Auba and Laca reportedly ill, there is a chance this is Covid right?

I'm gonna plan a team without Toney just in case :)

Any opinions on last minute changes?

Is it sensible to have two defenders from the same team? I'm a FPL casual so I don't know.

Also, there's such a derth of 'guaranteed' strikers. I'd have definitely found a way to get Lukaku in if he'd been starting the first match.

I think a general advice is not to spread the budget too much. You can only play 7 attackers so always have to bench one.

Looking at your team it is probably Grealish benched which could go badly.

I say though all your 8 are strong picks, but if you want Kane or Lukaku it can be hard to get them.

For a team without Bruno and TAA it looks really strong, but I probably downgrade/uppgrade DCL, Barnes or Grealish to get another top player in.

Havertz ain't worth it in my opinion. Too hot and cold.

I'm still deciding on Toney.

Toney and Son or Antonio and Mahrez ??

Option 1 cause they are guaranteed to play every week and Arsenal don’t have Auba or Lacazette tonight. So advantage Brentford!

This is my final team, don't try to talk me out of it as I'm tortured. We'll be playing four - four - fecking - two:

Schmeichel

Tsimikas - White - Rüdiger - Shaw

Salah - Mount - Fernandes - Greenwood

Vardy - Antonio

Subs - Sánchez - Coady - Bissouma - Obafemi

Think Grealish will start personally.

Do you have any links to Pep saying otherwise?
Pep is an established fraud at this point. You can't trust a word he says.

Not sure if that is a good or bad thing for Arsenal tbh

Haha ta bud. That's the quality proper analysis I have come to expect.

I will probably leave it and remember the logic that brought me to it early doors.

Just way too many unknowns and non settled in players so far.

The first weeks are phoney in so many ways. It all settles by the first international break, and that's not a bad time to make big changes if needs be, soaking up the value increases if you commit early on.
