according to Fabrizio Romano, Mendes offered the player to Manchester United, but the club refused to sign him. In this case, things definitely change.
He could sign for any club in the world but he chooses City. NAH, this doesn't change anything.

When he's kissing the city badge and SUUUUUUUUUUUI'ing at the stretford end I wonder if you'll feel the same

He didn't do that when he scored against us for juve, why would he do that now?

He's a football gladiator basically and I don't think he identifies himself with United nowadays at all. It was the club to launch the prime of his carreer, nothing more, nothing less.

You believe it’s PR.

I’m saying that the likelihood of that report of him being offered to United being true is greater than it just being PR.
Let's put it this way. If your goal is to be seen as the greatest player of all time, win titles, in short it is all about yourself and your biggest rival has just signed to star studded PSG team while you are approaching 37.

On the table there are two offers and one team is clearly more dominating and objectively gives you a much bigger chance of beating PSG while adding another CL. You think he would choose us? After just battling his way out of "struggling" Juventus side?

Sorry, no way.

The thought of him joining City is really sickening im not going to lie.

I really wish we would have gone for him we’re short of strikers (Cavani going to miss 8 games with Uruguay and already missed 2) and Martial is nowhere near the quality we need.

fecking Glazers for allowing this to happen. Just sign him for two years ffs. Cavani wont play much anyway with his desperate love for the national team. In and out of quarantine will not make him match fit

The difference is, he is one of our own.

It's the homecoming, we all know he would benefit us, hell even if it was just the buzz of wearing his name on the shirts again and having the stadium swinging.

Imagine the opposite, imagine its City, so many wrongs on so many levels.
How is he one of our own? He spent his prime and the majority of his career with Madrid. He's one of Madrids own if anything.

He didn't do that when he scored against us for juve, why would he do that now?
When he scored against us he pulled up his shirt to show us his abs. Only for Mata to score a last min free kick to win us the game with Mourinho famously cupping his ear to show Juve what he’s all about

Oh ffs you lot.......

I thought children weren't allowed on this forum? Way to prove me wrong.

He's a grown ass man, he can sign for who ever the feck he wants.
Besides, he's shit now anyways.

And for all those who'd want to see him back here.......get a grip.
Leave the past where it belongs.

We have new kids ready to take over, new memories and titles to come.
That's gonna come back and bite you in the ass.

Messi and Ronaldo at fecking PSG and City is just soulless.

Although they are at the check out stage of their careers I guess.

He's still a clinical goal scorer. Everyone is wanking themselves over Chelsea signing Lukaku, Ronaldo outscored him in the Serie A last season.
Sure, he can score. But his movement is limited, his style doesn't suit City, and let's be honest - it's Seria A.

Exactly this, except he isn't shit, his powers have waned but he is a still a pretty useful forward.
The upside if he goes is he could break Citys wage structure and upset a lot of the squad.
Yeah, the sizes of EGO's in City's team is getting larger by the hour.
Add in Ronaldo and you got yourself a nice squad of players looking to boost their stats.
Not the mention the free kick duty once KDB, Grealish and Ronaldo start in the same team.

Rock paper scissors or?

I think we all thought it'd be the other way round though!
And would be much happier that way.

Messi at PSG and Ronaldo at Man City would have been some sort of dystopian joke 10 years ago. Oil clubs need to feck off.

I doubt Ronaldo is going to go to City though.

103 goals in 130 games for Juve isn’t shit. If he scores at the same rate for city he’d be winning every player of the year award going and finishing top scorer with ease.

He’s still really good. He doesn’t have as much to his game these days, but he’s still in tremendous physical condition and scores goals for fun. City will serve up sitters all game, he’ll score a ton for them.

Other than that I agree with you, I don’t want him back here. I’ve said this for the past few years, let bygones be bygones. Though it seems I’m in a minority of people who are happy with our exciting young team.

Doubt it.

City as a team is a well OILed machine, no doubt.

And he might score loads, but i dont think he will.
His Euro performances are a better example of his play.

Sure, he'll score the pen. And the tap in.

Is it enough for City?

Very hard to believe that grown up people are still in denial about Ronaldo wanting to join City.
He doesn’t care about United. That should have been clear latest when he agreed with Blatter’s slavery comment.
He left 12 years ago and some people are still in love with him.
He was a great player for us and contributed to one of our most successful periods. But that should be it.

He is not the same player anymore. Hopefully he fails miserably, doesn’t play much, gets annoyed that he is not the center of attention (but rather KdB), City players get frustrated by him wanting special treatment and Pep loses his hair.

Tbf to him, I think he's one of the few players who actually embody the 'boos make me stronger' mentality. Loves to score agaisnt rivals away.
What if we cheer and clap him maybe it will break his brain and cause him to score goals against both sides.

Thats it. Look at what happened to Juve after they clapped him scoring againt them. That's how you sign Ronaldo.

When we refused to sell him, he likened himself to a slave, that is not one of our own !!

If he goes to City, not going to lie it will make them better, but feck him if he wants to go, I wont be losing no sleep over it.

To be fair, it’s hard to think of a team that will serve up more tap ins for him than City, it’s like their speciality. He could score a ton there.

If he goes I wouldn't be surprised if what he gets paid as an "Ambassador" for the UAE dwarfs what he'll get paid as a player.

The potential earnings for him even past retirement could be insane when you consider the potential for either sponsorship or being allowed to invest himself in UAE projects.

Got United fans here calling John O’Shea “O’Shit” and yet still stroking themselves over a player that left 12 years ago after saying he was a slave. This is the modern football fan.

He acted badly in his final year at United and it kind of left me cold. I’m still annoyed he is going to city but that’s the way it goes. It’s not like Law where United were in the wrong (and players didn’t have the finances and choices they have now) Actively seeking City out is just mind boggling to me but I’m looking forward to the derbies and the added intensity. It could be a kick up the behind for the current squad too - bring it on!

Ironically, he played for Barcelona, Real Madrid, Inter and Milan.

Still and somehow, fatty was always generally more likeable in a way.
Being humble has a lot to do with it.
