This leaves me with -1.0 and still an extra spot to fill

I'm struggling to take out any big hitters but I surely have to.

Salah has some easy fixtures coming up and is pretty much always a good point scorer.
Bruno pretty much gets points every game.
Lukaku will be up there with the top scorers this season.
Ronaldo. I can't miss out on that surely.

I would honestly expect Fernandes' average to drop with Ronaldo in the team. Could be wrong, but the attacking onus will be different. There might be some better value in midfield, Son maybe.

Bruno without pens isn't worth 12m. Last season he scored 9 pens. Remove those 45 points and say 20 BPs he would have accumulated, and maybe add 20 points for additional assists + their Bonus due to CR7 being in the side, he'll probably just hit the 200 point mark. For 12m player, it's not that good a deal.

Similarly for Lukaku, you don't need him now. GW7 onwards, he becomes essential, but for the short term, DCL, Antonio are as good an option as Lukaku

@Solius Both Fernandes and Ronaldo doesn't feel like a sensible use of funds. If you really want to try and cram in 4x premiums I think they need to be from different teams. Maybe Son instead of Bruno?
I also think Alonso's days are numbered as Chilwell starts to come back. Maybe downgrade him to a £4.5 (Coady for the Wolves fixtures?)
edit - Just noticed Greenwood too! Defs wouldn't recommend 3x Utd attackers.

I should know the answer to this, but I don't.

If I have already taken a hit in this gameweek, but then decide to play my wildcard before the gameweek deadline, will the hit still be active, or will I get those points back?
You would get the points back.

How do Man Utd fans feel about Greenwood in the team with Ronaldo coming in and Sancho getting phased in.
Ive had Greenwood in the team since GW1 and knew his time might be limited especially with Rashford coming back.

Would be difficult to transfer him out as he has 3 goals in 3 and if he plays he *should* get more attacking points playing with Ronaldo.
Cant see Solksjaer dropping him anytime soon either?

I had a similar defense setup, but I dropped Chelsea/City ones to save myself a few mill. Replaced with wolves considering how well they've played so far and their upcoming fixture list.

He's in my team, and I have the same reservations as yourself. View him in the same light you would City players, possibly getting rotated so ensure you have a bench that's strong enough to replace.

My hope is that if he does get rotated soon, that Ole doesn't just bring him on for 10 minutes at the end of the game he's left him on the bench for...that's the risk.

Ronaldo obviously nailed on, so there's 2 wide positions. You'd think Sancho and Greenwood are the main guys for a while. Unless we change to a front 2.
If Sanchois out a couple of games it's even more nailed.

Nonchalantly scoring the winner...
Which Sanchez is that?

From the others Id say this order:
Marcal - relatively safe, but they could go Saiss for lb too. (Marcal has beaten Ait Nouri, but he's there too)
Duffy - Veltman back might chance things
Tanganga - new signing complicates this. Offers little attackingwise I think.
Kilman - If Wolves go 4-4-2 Coady and Saiss will be before him

You probably already own Livramento but him and Williams look like more safe than the abovementioned. They rotate quite well if you are content with 4.1+4.0 fodder
Cheers mate. I meant Spurs’ Sanchez.

Considering:

Martinez > Mendy
Tsimakis > Livramento
Fernandes > Grealish
Ings > Ronaldo

Should I take a -8 instead of wildcarding?

Also, is Ferran Torres nailed on? It's between him or Grealish

Yeah thats what I was thinking. Im on a wildcard and cant transfer him out. 3 in 3.
Will keep him in until theres a sign he's getting reduced minutes or his points drop off significantly.
Hoping for a Ronaldo bounce as well, increased goals and assists.

-8 always feels a bit strong.
But 4 players is surely the minimum you'd want to do a wildcard for, unless you'd do some other stuff too?

Not worth doing the Livramento swap now the others are fine.

After some tinkering. Still not happy with the forward line but I guess one will always be on the bench. If players were cheap I tried to only select those who've played maximum minutes so far.

Yes. I think Mason is surely more nailed than Sancho. Yes Sancho is a big money signing but at this point I considered Mason a bigger talent and he's been a fixed part of our attack since last season. He has 9 goals in last 11 PL games plus Ole loves him.

Personally outside FPL Id be gutted if he gets benched. He should be absolutely a nailed spot in our team right now. Don't disrupt that rhythm.

Yeah im gonna keep him, he's been doing well. Just the worry is that Ole starts rotating more and tries to shoehorn people in. Form should keep Greenwood still in the team though.

You are basically looking at a complete blank forward line the days Ronaldo doesn't score. Having 3 premiums is gonna leave most sides unbalanced.
I feel like Salah, Greenwood and Son are essentially forwards though. Torres has been playing ST too.

At this point I'm surely leaning towards no transfer. Even if Ronaldo starts I can go with Bruno in that for one game. The bigger factor for me is I'm not gonna have Ronaldo if I WC in 7 or 8 so I'd rather just get him later.

Yeah I meant FPL wise. Son is a lovely FPL asset. But that along with Salah and Ronaldo is gonna hamper other positions.
They score every week though, at least so far.

I can get a wildcard team like this:

------------Sanchez-----------------
---Digne-----Shaw----Coady-----
--Salah--Son--Gray--Greenwood
--Jiminez---Ronaldo---Antonio-------

Bench: Livramento, Williams, Sissoko.

Im tempted.

I think you have to have Salah/Ronaldo, Salah/Lukaku or Ronaldo/Lukaku, you can't have three premiums and survive a full season, I think any of the above duo scores roughly the same

I don't think Bruno is priced correctly now we have Ronaldo so unfortunately he can't be picked

Decent, but will Jiminez live up to it?

Banging his money into a cheaper striker allows a decent upgrade elsewhere.

Used my wildcard since I had a terrible start... I hate picking Liverpool players, but I gotta swallow my pride and just go with them :(

They'll score most weeks but they will not score as many FPL points as taking one out and strengthening the rest of your forward line will.

E.g. Ronaldo will presumably not score as many as DCL and Antonio combined.

This, added to the fact that you can only captain one of them each week is the reason why for most people 3 premiums is too costly to be worth it. You're often 'losing' points on the ones you haven't captained that week because their effective ownership and captaincy % will be so high.

2 is fine and you can rotate the captaincy between them whilst not sacrificing too much in the rest of your team.

Ultimately its about having fun though and if you like having 3 premiums and predicting which one of them will get a double digit haul that week then go for it. It's a fun way to manage even if it isn't usually the best for climbing up the global rankings!

someone who is good at the economy please help me budget this. my family is dying
I dropped Salah and Bruno for Jota and Greenwood to make it work for me...risky business I know but I'm getting flashbacks to the good old days of FF where you could just have Ronnie nailed on as captain in your team every week

Same here. I don’t think I really need a wildcard at this point, Bruno may well score against Newcastle and if I keep my transfer I can do the swap next week anyway. The issue with taking hits to remove good players is that they can score well and you will be a double loser. I went way too heavy on transfer the last two seasons so want to really refrain myself this year.

Curious to which strikers below 7.5 you find value. Can you name some who starts every match and has a nice schedule?

Watford and Wolves have good fixtures coming up for strikers in that price range.
Dennis and Jiminez.

Saying that, just looking at a Wolves forum and they think Jiminez could miss the next match because of the international issue.

There is no spoon.
So, like many drafting Ronaldo in and quite happy with this team even though i still have 2.6m in the bank, which ill use to fix the keeper situ or potentially upgrade one of Torres or Benrahama + fix the Foster issue.

Sanchez
Shaw Regulion Alonso Creswell
Torres Greenwood Salah Benrahma
Ronaldo Antonio

Subs: Foster, Duffy, Dennis, Gilmour
