I actually did find Ed Gamble to be a bit loud and annoying.

I liked him, you could tell he was a huge fan of the show which helped. He was sort of like the opposite of Ian Sterling, incredibly competitive but didn't let it turn him into a complete bellend.

EDIT: Shit... am I a racist towards Scottish people now?

And I'm all out of bubblegum.
The only person I really haven't liked in Taskmaster is Aisling Bea. It's not really that she's loud, it's just that she isn't remotely funny. I don't really have any problem with the loud characters, you need one or two. I didn't have any problems with Lou Sanders, Iain Stirling, Katherine Ryan, or what have you.

I wasn’t a big fan of Ed Gamble but I could live with it. The only person I genuinely didn’t like was Nish Kumar. Yelling piss and shit loudly and having an annoying laugh isn’t funny.

I thought Desiree would be a lot like Daisy May Cooper (loud, stupid and laughing OTT at everything) and so far at least I'm very glad she isn't.

The only contestant I've truly disliked was Iain Stirling, but I didn't finish Series 8 because the whole casting seemed off. Sterling and Lou Sanders were far too similar, but he just took it too far (that first group task was painful to watch). Joe Thomas and Sian Gibson were okay but not the most entertaining in the tasks but sank into the background in studio segments because Sterling and Sanders were so loud, and Paul Sinha was effectively useless both in tasks and in studio, which I suppose is understandable given he was diagnosed with Parkinson's just after they finished filming.

I might go back to it at some point, but after a few episodes I ended up binning it.

That series has one of my favourite tasks - driving an electric chariot around a series of obstacles whilst blindfolded. Well worth going back to.

Bertie self requested a permanent ban. Unreal.
Christ! Imagine saying the same thing 15 times, then when someone mentions it you lose your shit about it.

I don't do social media either, and have similar feelings about it as Bertie did, but his skin must be wafer thin if he thought he'd been victimised here.

I'm watching season 8 right now and I think Lou Sanders is probably the funniest one, I guess I'm really out of sync. I also realize I obviously don't have any idea what 'loud' means, how is she loud compared to e.g. Acaster or Mortimer?

I don't get it either. The only obnoxiously loud contestant where it had started to annoy me was Ian Sterling. I don't get people's problem with Aisling Bea or Nish Kumar either.

Agree with this. Iain was loud for the sake of being loud, and coupled it with extremely misplaced confidence in solo tasks, and genuine anger at not getting his own way in team tasks.

I'm about to give season 8 another go after abandoning it halfway through, but Iain is putting me off as he's the only contestant I've ever disliked.

She was my favourite from that series, not sure issue people have with her.

Since we're talking about not liking contestants, Josh Widdicombe is the only one I didn't like. Something about the way he was annoyed me.

I liked it when they used to give everyone a task and one member of he panel was given a little bit extra to do, such as joe lycett having to smile into the camera while painting.
They don’t seem to do that anymore, I guess in the interest of fairness?

Listen to the taskmaster podcast episode he's on. I think it'd improve your feelings about him.

No, they space them out more so it's not too obvious. There'll be future ones, but not every series.

Wait what? You need to go back and watch it immediately...it'll go down as probably the single best moment in TM history, even over Joe Wilkinson and the potato

I’m on a four hour train journey and stupidly left my iPad at home with the all4 app. I’ll have to see if YouTube has a clip of it. Some what’s i can gather Mike Wozniak and pats seem to be the key words?

And what a classic moment it was too
Really disturbing at the same time.
He was a great contestant as well, perfect for this type of shoe.
I only just finished watching that series the other day but half the time it was on in the background so I must have missed that one.
Episode 6 if Google is correct. Well worth watching.
