I guess we'll see that a lot. Many "fans" furious with Bruno and Greenwood for yesterday, I wonder why? I reckon this might be a peak season for newbies yet with Ronaldo coming back.
Didn't you both watch the same game I watched? Greenwood had a chance to roll it to Bruno for a tap in but no he takes a weak shot with his right boots, Greenwood had another chance to either disguise a pass outside to Ronnie but he choose to take on the whole Aston villa defense and dragged his shot wide.

Stop letting sentiment cloud your thought Greenwood's selfishness cost us the Aston Villa game, he should learn to access his options better, yes he's a striker but when you're playing a game that you know it's a must win you need to be smarter than what he put up at the weekend, as they say "If you must be selfish, you must score" which he didn't so he is to be blamed to some extent for our loss.

PS; I'm a United Fan as much as anyone here, don't know why I can't seem to be able to change the team i support with the app I'm using.

Saying his selfishness costed us and he should be on the bench in the next game is overreacting. Him not passing 2 times to players in good positions didnt cost us, some other things did. Sure he really should have passed but even in those instances there was no clear chances or some good action of play but him trying something on his own which is a good thing.

Also what's this stuff about him being selfish all the time. One game in which he's selfish and he's generally selfish as a player?
This is not directed at you but in general.

Greenwood despite his selfish play was our best player for me. He was the one trying and getting into dangerous positions consistently. He just needs to recognise why his end product was off and he'll be fine. Start him whenever possible, he's brilliant.

He's still a young player. Remember Ronaldo when he came here first, everyone but the tea lady were shouting at him to pass the ball . Look how he turned out. Did you ever stop to think he is copying or learning from some of these players like Ronaldo, Fernandes, or Cavani now. He will learn quickly, no doubt.
PS. Had he scored from some of these shots, he would be the hero, same as these players mentioned turned out.

You didn't answer, I notice, about the shining light's effect on yesterday's loss.
He might be great someday, but the mgmt will need to do work to make that happen.
Thats another thread this one is about Greenwood . Wow

Yes it is. Wow. Greenwood may eventually be great, but he isn't great today. He definitely wasn't great yesterday. It would be nice if someone on the team pointed that out to him, didn't seem to happen during the game.

He would have been hooked I think if not for the 2 injuries.

Mason can be a bit trigger happy but he's always found the balance of having the required level of greed for being a goal scorer and being a team player. On Saturday he was selfish beyond belief, lets just hope that was a one-off and not a sign of things to come.

His attitude comes from knowing that Sancho and Rashford are in contention though. Competition is not always healthy.

He made some bad decisions against Villa but these are mistakes kids do. It seems crazy and I think some forget he’s 19. Inconsistentcy is always going to be there.

I think its ridiculous if he develops the reputation for being selfish based on one game. I dont remember him ever being anything but very UNSELFISH with good vision too before.

On the bright side, in that Villa game he was able to get his shot off and create something at will. He took many shots true but thats cuz he is capable of actually dribbling and shooting. It wasnt the case for anyone else in that game and Mason looked by far most threatening even though his shot was off.

So yeah on the bright side, thats a ridiculous level of skill. Taking on a player or two or three and being able to make something off it every time even though he was missing. And we do know he is usually a great finisher and unselfish. This really was just one game, for whatever the reason.

This is the reason I never understood people saying Ronaldo would hinder his development he is 19 and isn’t experienced enough to lead the line for us like any 19 year old. Still he is incredibly talented but his decision making was poor and I felt like Ronaldo should of had a word.
But you won’t find a perfect 19 year old and you won’t find many than Greenwood

Needs to add more variation to his game.

He doesn't cross enough as a RF/RW either and takes a shot every time he gets.

Needs to learn when best to do when - especially when playing with a striker like Ronaldo.

Agreed.

Greenwood by no way is a selfish player based on his previous games.

I was a bit worried about the defensive duties, workload etc. when we signed Ronaldo. He simply doesn't press and has the worst pressing percentile of all strikers in Europe. That of course means other attacking players will have to cover more defensive duties and consequently, sacrifice their offensive part.

No striker or attacking player like to do the dirty work, especially if that means they're less likely to involve offensively. And not everyone worship Ronaldo so I was worried that may make some players unhappy about. Greenwood was unusually selfish the other day and that really worries me.

Needs to keep doing exactly what he is doing...carrying a forward line that has otherwise done nothing without him...at 19...skinning fullbacks for fun and scoring at a better rate than any other teenager in our history.

I’ll see you guys in here for your “I hold my hands up” posts as the season goes on...he is one of the very few entirely promising things about Utd.

Played better than Sancho, but you really do need someone like AWB behind him. Tracks back like a striker, because he's a striker I guess.

No wonder he likes to back himself. Can’t log an assist to save his life. Should have a handful already this season.

Did he? Perennially offside and offered nothing in the build up. Thinks he needs a rest.

He was industrious and had some decent runs, but he's not helped as a young player in an off the cuff attack.

He’s set some high standards for himself, but that was one of his worst performances in a long time. Still created the most from our starting line-up. We should have more crowd in the box when he’s 1v1 on the wing, because he always gets past his man when he goes outside.

This forum has actually turned into a cesspool. Just shite spouted continuously in every thread and no repercussions. He wasn’t great but saying he should be ‘embarrassed’ is ridiculous. He should have had a brilliant assist ffs!

I think he was decent.

That cross to Cavani was unbelievable. We'd be raving about it for absolutely ages if Cavani scored from it.

Big Greenwood fan but thought he should have been subbed off a lot earlier today. Just wasn't clicking for him.

He also set Sancho up at the six who promptly slipped on his arse.

Some really weird takes in this thread. You would think this is the Bruno thread.

He is 19. If you want to develop homegrown players you have to accept games like tonight. It was only a few games ago he was bailing us out.

It goes both ways. Some can’t stand when he doesn’t pass or has a poor game and blame him for a loss.
Others declare with certainty that he is already better than Rashford or Sancho ;).

Truth is that he is only about to turn 20, extremely talented and keeps improving.
He will be inconsistent, he naturally still has a lot to learn and he will have poor games. Nothing wrong about it.
It’s actually good that we have so many attacking players now that he can keep developing without much pressure.

the worst player on the pitch with Dalot today. He should sit on the bench few games.

He’s one of the top young players in world football at 19 years old and he plays for Utd. If you need any reason at all not to love him you are batshit mental. Fact is he’s been better than Rashford for a year at least and better than Sancho thus far. That’s not over the top, that’s the reality and outside of Ronaldo he’s been our best attacking player this season.

What kind of repercussions are you suggesting? Artillery strike or just strip them naked and chant shame at them through the streets?

Mostly poor tonight and doesn't seem to have any chemistry with Ronaldo so far. Still produced a fantastic cross to Cavani though which could have been an assist.
