Not great by Diaz. It was nice to see him back, but he's obviously been gone for a long time. that ridiculous suspension robbed everyone of 5 good years.

The 2021 version of Nick Diaz looks a little old and slow, and the only surprise was why it took Lawler that long to put him away.

Great fight. Ortega has the heart of a lion. 2 very close submissions but credit to the champ for surviving. Max vs Yair confirmed then hopefully we get part three.

That Diaz spinning kick at the start of the round is the funniest thing I’ve seen in a long time, state of it

He’s obviously done but I won’t lie the fight was a quality watch, just two dudes scrapping nonstop for two rounds even if they are both over the hill.

Wow. That main event was lit, like something out of a movie!

The Diaz fight was like two drunks outside weatherspoons on a Friday night

Great night of fights.

That main event was absolutely crazy, unbelievable heart shown by both men. Thought Ortega had it when he locked on that Guillotine. Valentina is unstoppable. Diaz & lawler looked like 2 pissed up 50-somethings getting into a brawl at Wetherspoons. That featured prelim with Merab & Moraes was a banger too.

I’m still bitter about Murphy somehow getting a win over Calderwood with one of the dogiest judges decisions I’ve seen since Calderwood vs Chookagin. But she didn’t belong there and Valentina proved it. Not even sure anyone is on the same level as her and feel like it’s going to be a long time before she is beaten unless she goes up to fight Amanda.

Why quite a few people are hating on Aljamain Sterling ? Obviously he has had neck issues since college days and pulled out of the rematch because he had to.

I think they are still angry about the way he won the belt. And pulling out of a rematch against the same opponent, doesn't help him. But I find the hate to be unfair as he didn't choose to be kneed while downed or to have a hurt neck.

Also, have you guys seen the latest on Jon Jones ? It's bad. Not much to say that hasn't been said before... just a feeling of sadness.

I don't hate him but it's funny saying things like "in the next fight, his Corner will be telling him to headbutt Yan's knee"

But in the MMA world, I guess people don't see him as the true champion regardless of rules. He was getting pieced up, put in an Oscar performance to win, threw the belt on the floor and said he didn't want it... Then there's pictures of him celebrating with it.

He should have stopped defensive his position and just leaned into his heel image, would have been better for him.

Yes, just read the police report. He's an absolute scum of the earth. I really feel sorry for his wife and kids. No family deserves shit like that. Moron.

Sterling appears to be a nice guy on Twitter. Of course you can never truly know someone without spending personal time with the person, but he is one of the fighters who most engage with people.

But well, life in the spotlight can be tough. People will forget about it after he returns and wins. But if he loses, it could get worse...

One of his own kids asking for the cops to be called, the visibly scared fiancee trying to claim her bloody nose/mouth was because it was dry, Jones headbutting a police car....

Not good.

There is an undeniable massive hard-on for Yan as well. Because, well, he’s a Russian killing machine

He's a ticking timebomb. Almost guaranteed to be a car crash once he retires.
He said that what the devil means for bad, god means for good, right ?

What I understood from that is that his mistakes are caused by an evil force (not taking responsibility) and that god exists to forgive him (so nothing he does is of any consequence)

I'm not a religious person, but if there is indeed a god out there, the idea that he only exists to forgive people doesn't seem conductive to someone realizing how their actions can hurt other people (mentally and physically)

I'm not quite convinced that Yan is a world class fighter. I think he has flaws that people like Sterling, Sandhagen or TJ can show. But so far, Yan looked pretty damn good.

His fight IQ came into question with that last fight.

Ahh maybe it was a translation thing. I just remember him saying he thought it was ok because his corner said to knee the opponent.
I think that you are right on that. Looking at it again, his corner says ("davaï, davaï,) and something else, he responds, they respond and he knees him.

PS: I forgot that it was the knee that was down and not the hand.

Yan vs TJ/Sandhagen would be so damn sick. I think this is another reason people hate Sterling, there’s so many mouth-watering fights in this division and he’s (kind of) holding it all up

Jon Jones is either a psychopath or sociopath; nothing that comes out of his mouth has any tangible worth.
