Ronaldo as player manager…just imagine that!
Disagree. Except Bruno, his signings haven’t been great. Ronaldo and Varane were obvious, every manager would have made those. Maguire was overpriced for roughly 40m, AVB is garbage, Sancho has been crap so far, James was crap, Donny never plays and he spent 50 millions in a couple of kids who never play. Cavani was decent in a free though. He would have been the best Director of Football we could have wished for
How would he take France before the WC, Deschamps isn't going to be sacked and it's not even sure that he leaves after the WC?I've been Ole in but have to admit it's waning fast and I'm hanging on by a cnut hair. My concern if we sacked him now is who the feck is going to take over? Conte is not right for United. Maybe Zidane for caretaker to stabilize moral and get something out of this season but would he even want to come to England? Feel like he's going to take over France before the WC.
Our problems are so deep it's beyond Ole and this coaching staff to fix. Pogba is a square peg in a round hole. Should never have started along side Matic in a MF two. Maguire was never fit for this. Stupid decision to play him after only having a day or two on the grass as Ole put it. Looked like he was smoking grass today.
Love Ole and wanted him to succeed but can't see it with the coaching staff. They just don't appear to have a clue. Has to be why we're seeing Rene might come back in the papers.
We made some serious signings this summer and should be much further ahead than we are. It's time to make a change.
I’d go with that ….he could hardly do worse.Ronaldo as player manager…just imagine that!
Hundreds, if not thousands, of better options. He would have been the best Director of Football we could have wished for
The aquisition on Ronaldo and Varane could work agaI take no pleasure in doing so. Today was my moment to think he can’t possibly get the players onboard now
It's going to get so much worse, I didn't feel we were as bad today as we can be in our Ole behind the wheel slumps. You could tell just by watching them today
the result will just reinforce that
He is nice but these top level athletes are bred to be winners aren't they. I think they know they aren't going to win with him, just an opinion.I don't think Ole could ever lose the players in the way some managers do.
He's too nicey in general and doesn't ever dig them out in public.
Can anybody post them? Was interesting listening to the difference between what was going on in the ground against Everton and then what fans actually thought once they got outside.
If he can't get a tune out of this squad something is definitely wrong. Just came back from the game and the generally supportive fans seem to be losing patience. You could tell just by watching them today
the result will just reinforce that
So who should be vetting potential signings to ensure they have the right attitude? Because some of today’s slackers were signed by Ole.Are you having a laugh at a very simple fact? There are never any excuses for not putting in your best effort
Watched all of that and every single word was spot on.
I’d be amazed if he did better.I’d go with that ….he could hardly do worse.
Something is definitely wrong. The wrong positions were recruited in the summer. Half the team is injured or out of form. Ole and his boys analysed what was wrong and then went ahead and picked an unbalanced team.If he can't get a tune out of this squad something is definitely wrong. I see you argue this widely. Let me ask you, did you see a marked difference in the performances of the (same) team when Ole took over from Mourinho? One genuine question who in world football would take this group of players (as they stand) and have them challenging for the title?
I’d be seriously amazed if he couldn’t.I’d be amazed if he did better.
Honestly I felt this way against Villa, and that Bruno penalty miss was very uncharacteristic of him, not the miss but they way he struck the ball. It was very odd, almost as if he wanted to miss. You could tell just by watching them today
the result will just reinforce that
Your really think that with an equal squad of players he is going to win the league against Pep, Klopp and Tuchel? Now add to this mix, Newcastle who is going to be buying top class players and a top class manager.Something is definitely wrong. The wrong positions were recruited in the summer. Half the team is injured or out of form. Ole and his boys analysed what was wrong and then went ahead and picked an unbalanced team.
I am generally very supportive of Ole and I am now losing patience but worse still I am losing faith.
Best squad in the leagueThe worst thing is, I don't think he's lost the players. I think they pity him and his lack of managerial prowess, they know they have the power and play along. We have the best squad in the league and we are worse to watch than Norwich.
Don’t ask me. I just said I’m losing faith.Your really think that with an equal squad of players he is going to win the league against Pep, Klopp and Tuchel? Now add to this mix, Newcastle who is going to be buying top class players and a top class manager.
I think it’s a relevant point. People reacting by demanding change don’t analyse what that change could bring enough.I see you argue this widely. Let me ask you, did you see a marked difference in the performances of the (same) team when Ole took over from Mourinho?
It’s pretty clear how that happened tbf.Don’t ask me. I just said I’m losing faith.
But while you’re at it why don’t you ask yourself how we finished above Liverpool
and Chelsea last year. I’ve no idea how, but it happened.
We got more points tbfIt’s pretty clear how that happened tbf.
|I am tending to believee his arrival disturbed the flow and Pushed Ole under pressureRonaldo as player manager…just imagine that!
Yes but you know why. Liverpool were missing key players and Chelsea had to come back from a disastrous start. It’s quite clear really, hence we are back to where we are respectively. We got more points tbf
I’m sure in private he maybe is thinking that too.|I am tending to believee his arrival disturbed the flow and Pushed Ole under pressure
People ssy many things about Ole now but I always remember himm who stabilized the club when we were really dire. He brought in some good players in the process
This year main issue is he is finding it hard to keep every one happy and on top of that McFred is not really functional too. I am sure he is wishing in his head he got a DM than |Ronaldo now
Fair enough. I agree on a long-term strategy. I wonder what the long-term strategy is under Ole, and I'm not being coy, when it comes to how the team plays?I think it’s a relevant point. People reacting by demanding change don’t analyse what that change could bring enough.
Yes we saw a person who understands the club take over and the whole place has a lift. We saw a manger take over and give confidence to players who had none. Who addressed key areas in the transfer market and gave us memorable matches along the way.
I know you’re suggesting a new manager comes in and gives a boost but we don’t need a short term boost we need a long term strategy. Getting rid of Ole would be reactionary at this stage in the season as there is no obvious better manager around for this current position. For the record I’ve always said I feel Ole will make way for another manager who will then go onto be successful at some point. I don’t think it’s now.
Thanks for being reasonable when faced with a different opinion by the way.Fair enough. I agree on a long-term strategy. I wonder what the long-term strategy is under Ole, and I'm not being coy, when it comes to how the team plays?
I would prefer an interim manager now and making sure we find a suitable manager for next season as soon as possible (so they can liaise early with Murtough, Fletcher, et al). I just don't think it's to the team's benefit to have this season unravel further. It's a young team, confidence is more fragile without experience, and the good work Ole has done in terms of the atmosphere could quite easily disintegrate if it continues much longer. Think we differ just on our expectations. I don't think Ole will improve it enough from now on.
Someone has said that we have the same record now as in that previous dire situation.|I am tending to believee his arrival disturbed the flow and Pushed Ole under pressure
