I want to be sad for the voters. But it's hard to. They know what they vote for and got exactly what they vote for.

The GoP aren't lying about filibuster, they aren't lying about gerrymandering, it's not like they cheat their voters. They got exactly what they voted for, one to stick up to the DEMS even at the cost of their face.

So the whole Trump collusion with Russia turned out to be nonsense? I couldn't find anything from the left-leaning talkshows I watch sometimes, on this. A video by Russel Brand on the topic popped on my youtube recommendations.

Yes and no?
Trump did directly call on Russia to hack into the DNC-Clinton campaign and there obviously was a hack in the end. Trump's team and Russian propaganda farms did dominate social media with ads that fed into each other and amplified the effect (although this was also compounded by the absolute hubris and idiocy of Clinton Campaign never running much on social media). And Trump does have some financial entanglements with Russian entities.

However, the notion that Russia caused Trump to win is blatantly false and the whole "Trump is a Russian asset due to the KGB having some pee-pee tape" was always a far-fetched and silly (and sour grapes) accusation.

. “If you’re going to take over the administrative state and deconstruct it, then you have to have shock troops prepared to take it over immediately,” Bannon said to NBC. “I gave ’em fire and brimstone.”

We control this country, we’ve gotta start acting like it…We’re not gonna have 4,000 ready to go, we’re gonna have 20,000 ready to go, and we’re gonna pick the 4,000 best and most ready in every single department, and that’s how we really start to deconstruct the administrative state.

So millions ready for a violent coup if the GOP lose again and now the puppet masters want "shock troopers" ready to dismantle the state.

The infection of Trump all the way down the societal chain. Random nutjobs walk into a closed school board meeting and hold a "swearing in session" to replace the school boards they don't like (school board coups )

and now creating "resources" and online maps to target schooling districts which teach "anti-racism and acknowledging inequity"

@Carolina Red You're a teacher right? Seeing any of this first hand?

1787:
[..] our government ought to secure the permanent interests of the country against innovation. Landholders ought to have a share in the government, to support these invaluable interests and to balance and check the other. They ought to be so constituted as to protect the minority of the opulent against the majority. The senate, therefore, ought to be this body; and to answer these purposes, they ought to have permanency and stability.

2021:
The measure that Mr. Manchin opposes, a clean electricity program, may be the last chance for Congress to reduce planet-warming emissions before the effects of climate change become catastrophic.

The election thread is dead and buried so I’ll put this here. Even more praise for national treasure and prince John King who revealed he was battling through a tough period of his MS on election week.

Someone's getting ready for a Presidential run (I am still not believing this is real, but as far as I can tell it is him...)

Giddy Up

You know, when you see all of these Republican campaigners talking about being ready for the fight or aiming at Washington whilst holding guns, it's amazing that their followers have never taken that idea and ran with it. You know, like trying to attack politicians or having a violent insurrection at one of the major political institutions...

Wait, I hear it now.

amazingly awful, they are trying to lose.

Under this scenario, there will be many dual-earning couples who cannot afford child care if both of them continue to work, but could afford child care if one of them quit their job and thereby brought their family income below the eligibility cutoff. Normally people who quit jobs to take care of their kids do so in order to save the money they’d have to spend on child care. Under this plan, they have to quit their job in order to afford child care!

Sadly, he's right. Most big-city mayors are hella corrupt from scum bag politicians Antonio Villaraigosa to billionaire con artists like Bloomberg. The whole Emanuel family are just rotten human beings and it's unfortunate that those are the types of people that get fame and wealth and power in today's USA. Hardly surprising that some Clinton lackey won't call him out on it though. That whole network is just rotten to the core which is of course why Trump and the Q kooks gain so many supporters.
