I've no problem with the club offering new contracts to players who are surplus to requirements. It makes sense to protect the value. The obvious and glaring mistake we make however is protecting that value by offering them contracts on wages far higher than they are worth, and what any other club will pay, which at that point destroys any value they had. You'd think a former banker and businessmen would understand something so basic.Imagine if we end up offering him a new contact
