So much better
if we can get some midfielders that get the attackers on the ball quicker we’ll be flying
Still think players don’t play their natural game when Ronaldo is on the field

Suck it all the negative nellies. Even as I thought game was ending 0-0, I was reasonably happy to have had a full game where we controlled the opposition and signs of building something over these last 3 games. Even the subs were welcome. Yes, we didn't create much which resulted in some silly choices by Telles and Dalot to shoot in desperation.

Maguire put in a solid performance from the off. No frills, just solid heading the ball away and worked well with Varane.

The goal, it was just bloody brilliant. It was just about deserved I'd say. But, was just holding my breath for confirmation.

Oh and Moyes going ape shit on the sideline at the end was something else to really enjoy

Possession wise you can see the progress, slow that it may be. But once we become more adapted to this set-up we must work the opposition goal keeper more. Minor the Fred effort I felt we were lacking composure in the final 3rd in breaking through. Too many wayward efforts outside the area illustrated that.

Thought Ronaldo was fine today. As the game progressed he showed great work with his back to goal.

Credit West Ham though. Tough side, physically and mentally now. The don't give chances away readily as they have done in the past.

Wins like this build momentum. Spurs and us will take it to the wire for top 4 by the looks of it. I’m backing us to get in, it was such a massive 3 points for us today. Still buzzzzzing

Finally this is looking like a Rangnick team. They are fighting for each other. Greenwood and Elanga are recovering balls from our penalty box, Ronaldo being less selfish and willing to play on others. It's all coming together really and the team has bought into it. One thing we need to do is to use wide areas more instead of taking useless long shots. I'm excited to see if we can step up.

I thought we were pretty decent in the first two thirds of the pitch today. West Ham are a good side and we restricted them to very few chances. I felt like we controlled the game and the ball well. They didn’t just bypass our entire midfield with one pass or interception as we were seeing previously.

The final 3rd unfortunately not so good but I do think we are progressing under Rangnick. Long way to go but the first thing he said when he arrived was the need to start controlling games. It’s clear that he’s making a difference in that area.

Pretty gutted I couldn’t go today, even before the goal was scored as it sounded like a great atmosphere.

I’m far more positive after that then any of the other games under Rangnick. I know we’re not creating tonnes of chances but it’s so much better than how we played previously. Controlled the game and only gave up one real chance from a set piece.

We do what we want!
I think this is a good example of how stupid people have become when desperation to argue their biased views online overrides all rational thinking. Even providing visual evidence that disproves the very thing they're saying isn't enough to stop them saying it.

I disagree. We looked more threatening against Palace, didn't create anything clear-cut beyond the goal and West Ham barely attacked us.
I'm not saying we played particularly well. Just saying we didn't steal it and we never looked in danger in this game.

Whatever rule we have to invent for it to count. I’m for it
They did make a change didn’t they where only body parts you can score with can be offside? So hands don’t count but head/feet etc do? I thought there was a change due to Bamford being offside last season because of his hand?

United will be a lot scary, if they buy Rice to replace Mctominay. Tbh, as I watch MU so many matches, he needs to improve his passing accuracy and his football iq too. Today game shows that his inaccurate passes can cause your club to the hell a lot of times.

Shit performance but huge win, absolutely massive. The work rate was finally at the expected level.

Should be a tremendous morale boost.

I think a lot of the attacking issues come from Elanga, Ronaldo, and Greenwood not really offering anything during that period.. There wasn't any creativity from them.

Martial and Rashford were far better when they came on.

Seems our midfield is just 2 extremes without anything in the middle. McTominay and Fred are useless on the ball. Easily lose it when pressed and can't create anything. Mean while Bruno was the most creative of the three but wasted so much of his passes because he's trying to create everything every time when sometimes it's just better a simple pass to move things forward.
This team needs a fecking midfielder so bad. Someone who can knit plays in the middle.
I don't think Bruno have the patience of a CM, he's a second striker.

Thought we dominated the game, we just lacked the technical and cutting edge to make much of that control. Good signs that the manager is at least starting to get his message across
You can see we're passing better, it's just that the passing thru the midfield is slow (get the ball, stop, think, check where the receiving player is, pass) and the defenders can all get back on defense. As they get used to the passing routes, the passes will hopefully speed up and the attackers will get the ball with more space.
And they'll hopefully stop take so many speculative long shots.

They did change it as far as I know.

We really struggle against sitting deep teams, Martial, Sancho who could play in tight spaces would be great against this kind of matches. Team is improving, real coach is making huge improvement on our basics. I'm super happy, at this rate our only problem of creating chances will be fixed naturally.

I think this focus on the midfield excuses the attack of providing no creativity. Ronaldo, Elanga, and Greenwood didn't really do much. They need to do a lot more in attack than what they did. They didn't really provide many options to pass to until Martial and Rashford came on.

The past 3-4 games things have shown steady improvement, the nonsense leaks have quieted down a little and players like Bruno and Rashford have started to get back into form. Moving in the right direction. An Old Trafford clean sheet too.

I think this is Bruno in a nutshell when he's alittle deeper.
One or two games you can get away with it but instinctively you can sense he doesn't exactly enjoy it.

We have played well in the past but as we saw under LvG, that doesn't score us goals.

We were pretty clueless in attack until we had to really go for it. That's not surprising since we're still barely a month into Rangnick and he said he wants to make us solid which I think he's doing.

He's got a bit more time to get us to click but we'll need to be an attacking threat to make the top 4 with City and Liverpool away to come.

We're shit, the less said about the actual game the better. The midfield isn't good enough and our wingers aren't creating squat for Ronnie, who can all do feck all except poach goals.

Jones getting ready with Moyes in front of him gave me awful flashbacks

Beautiful

I just think he's forced to come to deep to get on the ball and play make because our deeper players are quite clueless with passing forward. He's a creative attacking player, not a b2b like Pogba IMO.

I reckon whoever loses the spurs/Chelsea game tomorrow is in a battle with us.

Spurs win that and their momentum will see them through. Conversely Chelsea are in horrific form and could get suckered into another top 4 fight.

Get Shaw back in, Telles was rubbish. Think we'd have won a bit more comfortably with a motivated Shaw on the pitch, let's hope that's what we see when he next gets a chance. Great for Marcus to get a tap in last minute winner.

Other than that though, how the feck was our 2nd shot on target the tap in winner and our first was from Fred? :houllier:
