Good luck to Martial. Wonderful player when hes on song but just never had the attitude/mentality to be successful here. Very much a reflection of the malaise and false dawns United have had over the past 8 or so years.

Never ceases to amaze me how managers who have failure after failure on their CV's keep on the lucrative manager merry-go-round in England's top few divisions. Roy isn't the worst of the worst, there's some truly terrible managers out there who perform awfully, get sacked, get a huge payout and then get another gig shortly after.

Rinse, repeat.

It seems United gave a the loan fee so Seville can pay Martial's full wage for the loan period.

The ideal scenario here is that he smashes it and we can get a proper sale in the summer. We may have only saved ourselves £4m but if he scores goals and does really well maybe we get £40-50m instead of £20-30m.

HELLO
If conflict in ideas with new manager is a genuine worry then loan a midfielder. Rocket science.

I’d be interested to see DCL in a United shirt, I think he has something. Probably largely get overlooked at international level, because Harry Kane. Shame if he goes to the Arse….
Same probably goes for Isak too, just a lesser level as he is somewhat unknown to me.

Calvert-Lewin is a player that worsens the longer he is on the ball. Good first touch finisher / header of the ball but if the ball is at his feet and he needs to make a decision with it he is very poor. Man Utd should avoid and hopefully Arsenal do buy him for big money. He is Europa League, at best.

CP would be a good move for him
Cc @Shipperley

If we let him go, we’re left with McFred, Matic, Bruno and a wantaway Pogba as our only midfield options across 3 different competitions. Doesn’t seem sensible. Surprising as I thought Donny would have been one player that would have thrived under Rangnick.

Juve suddenly find some cash down the back of the sofa.
Interesting how Juve, Barca, Madrid can just find money when they really want a player but plead poverty otherwise.

This is how I know that Pogba is a luxury signing for all those clubs, they don't really want him like alot claim.

We've been playing without Pogba and Donny for the majority of the season. Not saying it's right, but he won't get any significant minutes for the rest of the season. I think a loan to a PL club would be a good idea if he's going to play. Might come back here with a new manager and carry on being the player we thought we were getting.

It'll be a fee spread out over his contract, Italian clubs bow down to Juve for some reason.
I was just reading what their director said earlier this morning, that they want the fee upfront in cash, no players in exchange and no split payment. So it will be interesting to see the final deal

Paid in £5M yearly installments knowing Juve.

Barca are the most bizarre one, they were practically pandhandling in the summer and getting their cult members to take pay cuts, then suddenly they had money for Ferran Torres.

true, but at the same time he's averaging 8.5 minutes per PL appearance, we never play him. Champions league is the one place he's gotten okay minutes this season.

Donny will only be allowed to go if we have replacement to bring in.
Sad to say this but if MCt gets injured we cant rely on fred and matic they will get terrorised by any average midfield.

  • Manchester United
    • Martial took a pay cut to facilitate the loan move
    • Jesse Lingard
      • Leicester's also interested in Lingard
      • United want to sell the player, but Lingard would rather be loaned out and then become a free agent.
    • Dean Henderson's not allowed to leave the club in January.
  • Tottenham

  • Arsenal
    • Bernd Leno wants to leave the club.
  • Aston Villa
    • Villa want a new centre back even if it's a loan
  • Newcastle United
    • Expect a "manic Monday"; potential for a panic buy/loan

    • Newcastle are working on loan moves for Dele Alli and Jesse Lingard.
    • Contacts with Juve for Aaron Ramsey
  • Burnley

    • Interest in Andy Carroll but face competition from Bournemouth
    • Desperate for a striker, but Dyche isn't interested in either Kieffer Moore or Lyndon Dykes
    • Burnley are also looking to bring in another winger.
    • Tarkowski will see his contract out and leave as a free agent despite the Newcastle United interest this month.

Paris Saint-Germain continues to try to downsize its squad. Colin Dagba could be the next Parisian to go. As announced by TuttoMercato, Venezia has concretely positioned itself to try to bring in the right back on loan.
Later:
PSG repelled the Venezia's approach. For the moment, Paris does not want to part with Colin Dagba.
