Just hope we can stay in it for the second leg.

Utter utter garbage in that half. I mean we get outplayed by half the teams we play in the league so regardless of how they've been this season, it shouldn't be any surprise.

In big games we constantly try to increase numbers in defence but the opp have so much time in our box it's hard to believe we have more than 2 defenders playing!

The issue for our team has always been one of mentality and application, we are severely lacking in both. RR can pick 8 defenders but this team won't be capable of keeping the opp out.

Meh, not as bad as some on here would have it. .
A little bit of an attacking desire would be good, but the tactics are obviously to keep it tight.
If we can nick a goal back we'll be fine, Elanga to come on and make the difference.

How long can Maguire last at the club now? I have never known a United captain be this universally disliked by our own fans. Just don't see how he can have a long term future here, reckon he would want to leave if the oppurtunity came. Shirt weighs so heavy on him.

You wouldn’t fathom this was our biggest game of the season. These lot looked defeated after 2 minutes.

Changes needed. Dalot for Varane, switch lindelof to the centre, Elanga for Rashford and Matic for Pogba. Damage limitation and try and get out there 1-0 or nick an equaliser out of something.

Been completely extinguished by atleti, this is sort of game where all rashfords bad habits don’t suddenly come good. He’s not alone in that but makes our attack look so toothless. Same with sancho tbf but rashfords had how long now. Where’s the chasing down, tackles, desire to get the ball back? Get Elanga on.

Shameful half. I don’t think we created a single chance. Genuinely
Those three looped crosses that we had - the ones that missed every player - were pretty sick, tbf. I'd say that's like...0.4 of a chance.

If that first half was a film, it would be the second and third Matrix films. (probably the fourth, too). A complete abomination.

Poor half, Midfield needs sorting, Pogba has lost the ball about 90% of the time he’s had it, needs to improve if we’re to get anything out of this, Bruno not much better. They don’t like it like this.

He's getting caught out of position a lot, but you can't really fault him when Bruno and Pogba are giving him ZERO support. They're like 3 headless chickens.
But Fred can't control the ball.and is predictably dire. Id even have ancient Matic ahead of the ponderous Fred. At least we know Pogba and Bruno can do better. But they don't like being pressed. Fred has never been good enough. You need all midfield components working. But Fred rarely offers anything. So we are shafted.

    Typical United in big games
Ridiculous line up, all upfront, no midfielder

    A real amateur
What would you change exactly, Pep?

Our players cannot keep the ball for 5 seconds.

Kondogbia has got Pogba's number.. bank card, birth certificate, car keys, wife and kids.

Let's hope we come out second half a different team, which has been the norm so far with Rangnick.

Isn't it interesting that no matter how bad opponent is we make them look great

These cnuts have conceded more than any other side in the top half of La Liga, and more than some of the bottom half. If we can put them under any pressure at all, they'll crumble as they have done plenty of times already this season. We've just been too shite at building any attack to even consider that.

Lindelof the only player who's done anything good whatsoever.

Can't stand seeing Maguire wear our armband.

    Players playing shite, Moyes out.

Players playing shite, Van Gaal out.

    Players playing shite, Mourinho out.

    Players playing shite, Ole out.

    Players playing shite, Rangnick out.

Poor players, not being able to pass the ball a few yards cos of the bad manager.

    Anyways, for future reference…

    Players playing shite, Pochetino out.

There's no one to pass it to, refs a prick, Rashford is still acting the eejit, Pogba needs to stop taking the piss. Bruno needs to pass it faster and Ronaldo needs to calm the feck down
Ronaldo is the only one who seemingly cares atm, he's on the refs case for how many hack jobs they have got away with. Absolutely ludacris that there hasn't been more yellows.

The pass was fine. Fred needs to control better. He tried to bring it down. He needs to touch it into space. Basics of football...
It was a poor touch, but that was not a good ball. Fizzed it in the air to him while under pressure.

We play an hybrid formation with 2 or 3 CB. Players don’t know what to do and their is no midfield. We badly miss Dalot who is contributing a lot in midfield and carrying the ball up the pitch.
It’s on Ralph to completely change the formation.

The amount of people that think mctominay would make a difference :houllier:
That's the Scottish effect. Some thought Fletcher would single handedly shit on Pep's Barca if only he was available for that CL final

feck off with your racist agenda! He’s been no worse than the rest.
What are you even on about, jesus . Maybe it's because Pogba is actually our best player by a mile on any normal day, so people expect him to play like it? Damn what a racist

we should swap fred and pogba.

Fred isn’t doing enough as the deep playmaker, and pogba is getting caught in the press too often.

Pogba with more time on the ball could do some damage
Fred isn't a deep playmaker nor is he playing one.

Take Pogba and Varane off and put any two away fans based on a lottery system.

They get all the chances through our right defensive side. Sancho and Lindelöf are not able to stop their attacks on that side.

Pogba and Bruno have both been miserable and you are completely surprised when they rarely pass to a teammate instead of giving the ball away.

Pogba has been so shite it's almost like he's doing it on purpose. My 83 year old granddad would have been more mobile than him.

After you’ve been caught on the ball by intense pressing several time you would expect the penny to drop and speed up play but apparently not. Why are our player so baffled by the concept of opposition sprinting at them?
