He's proven that he's class, but he's played like a million games this season, with the Olympics and I think the Copa as well in the summer? And then he went straight into the season with Everton. Physically it'll catch up to any player.

He was quite average last season also, produced very little.

I don't understand this "produced very little" argument. He's produced as much as Raphinha has and is the same age and people want him.

He is a forward who's good at pressing and defending from the front - a profile we don't have. By a lot of accounts we were in for him 2 years ago, so it's clear our scouts rate him. He's ready to move on from Everton and they need to raise some money pronto.

I think we all agree we want a forward with that profile and he is very versatile too. We're not going to get best in the europe, so we have to be pragmatic in the profile of player we go for.

That's what we have scouts for. They need to unearth some better talent than Richarlison.

I would be keen. I personally think he’s one of those players that could go up a level in a top team. I think his workrate alone would make a huge difference to us.

But then there is no guarentee they will adapt to the league. He puts up the stats for defensive actions and pressures in the final 3rd we are lacking. No guarentee that transfers from another league directly and our scouts obviously rate him, because we were supposedly in for him a couple of years ago.

Bizarre comparison. Raphinha would be a natural on the right. That makes a difference as to the stats that are acceptable or promising and also to the logic of the signing. It adds genuine quality to a position we have few answers in.

With Richarlison it's a man who does a bit of this and that, from the left or up front. But with huge question marks because we don't lack on the left and who picks up the slack if he scores 1 in 4 up front but presses well? Difficult to say.

Totally different signings.

I'd have Richarlison over Raphina in our side any day of the week.

I'd like to clarify I'm not saying its one or the other, I'd still like a left footed right winger. I think Richarlison would be best through the centre in our potential system, but there's still a lot of rotation of positions, so I'd expect all of them to pop up across the front line.

With your last point, it would be the same with someone like Raphinha - bear in mind he took pens as well. He's not exactly prolific either. Personally, I think Richarlison would score more than that in our side, just as most people would think with Raphinha.

I can't see a forward that we would be able to bring in that would have a similar profile and no gamble on adaptation to the league.

The difference is probably that as a right winger, Raphinha could come into a side like ours and even if he maintained his current output he'd still add something to us. We'd have balance on the right, another technical player, and basically somebody we could rely upon whereas for the last number of years we've been cobbling together ideas on the right. It's quite a straight forward solution to a straight forward problem.

A signing like that is stating that we're going to get our creativity from our wingers, they'll chip in, but quite logically the striker has to benefit from that and produce, supported by Bruno. Which after all is a balance that is pretty time tested - a striker scoring goals.

With Richarlison I'm not really sure what the idea is. I see him adding depth, certainly, but I'm wondering where our threat is if we sign him and a winger. Are we then signing a winger that scores bucket loads, is that easier to find than a striker? Just hoping he scores loads more, or that Sancho and co suddenly burst into goalscoring form? I get projecting into the future with signings and hoping they progress or create a different team dynamic, but a fairly good predictor is the past output.

In my opinion we'd be better going for someone that looks more of a bet to score plenty. Maybe it's not the Liverpool or City way but it's still a way.

Raphinha and Richarlison are two different players. One is a winger who can create chances while the other one is wide forward or 2nd striker who can’t create chances and not clinical finisher.

Raphinha xA (expected assist) has been among the top list in PL. Last season, he was 4th highest xA in PL and this season he’s 7th highest one. Richarlison is nowhere near in top list of xA and he is not clinical finisher that can score lot of goals either. Raphinha has shown something much more impressive to play for the top club in the future than Richarlison.

If it's for cheap then I would take a punt, by cheap I mean no more than 35-40M.

Liverpool got Jota for about that, Richarlison is having an awful season along with the whole Everton squad to be fair but he didn't put on the number last season either.

So not worth much more than that at the moment.

I'm not disagreeing that Raphinha isn't a good signing, fits a gap we currently need, but the fact that people are sniffing at Richarlison productivity, but happy with Raphinha is the thing that doesn't make a lot of sense to me. We still need a forward that is just fit for the season to play Cavani's role and I don't see why Richarlison couldn't do that and chip in 10+ goals, also creating opportunities as being part of a collective pressing unit up top. I also think Sancho, Bruno and others should be expected to contribute more goals by this signing.

I personally think there's not a striker out there currently, that we could attract and afford (with everywhere else we need to invest in) that would be guarentee goals and play into the style we've been putting together under Ralf.

I'm not arguing Raphinha isn't a good player, but their outputs are pretty similar, so you shouldn't use it against Richarlison - who's also playing in a horribly incohesive team. I know they're different players, they have different strengths, I'm saying we could do with someone with Richarlison's strengths as well as Raphinha.

I never argue with you about Raphinha being good enough or not good enough. I told you that the reason why people want Raphinha is because of the promising thing that Raphinha produced which I used xA to show you. xA is also output and Raphinha is one of the top player in xA. Richarlison is nowhere near the top list in xA and scoring goals. I’m not sure where is this similar output.

I like him but I think his best games have mostly come from LW. So no doubt we'll spend £80m on him.

I don't want another right footed winger no matter how two footed they are in our squad.

We need a more naturally capable RW.

We can't have the potential options of Brazilian players like Raphinha and Anthony then come out with Richarlison.

The only reason I can see this happening is if its some sort of cheap deal after if Everton get relegated.

I think he is being marked as a striker. Not a bad option if Ronaldo is staying.

I still like him but I get the feeling we'd have more interest in his teammate Calvert-Lewin because he's more like a Ronaldo or Cavani type striker and that would seem to be the profile of attacker we'd want to add with Cavani leaving and Ronaldo's age

We should definitely be after him, he is an already amazing player with great attitude on the pitch and lots of room to improve.

If Everton go down then one of Richarlison or DCL will be up for grabs on the cheap surely. They might make the other one stay.

him and Phillips would be fantastic signings that could actually move us towards a proper pressing game.

Avoid, will be a complete busted flush. Poor player, very average technique, not quick, dribbling is average, passing is OK and not clinical. Why would we buy him?

The aggressive player Ralf was talking about. Great signing if we can do it.

This just isn't true though. Ancelotti obviously rates him and he won't be short of suitors in the summer. He is a top pressing forward as well, which is something we lack and why everyone liked Cavani.

Don't think he's good enough to be a starter, but as a squad option he would be brilliant.
Can play as ST and a winger as well.

If we got him for a very good deal, I'd go for him but only if he wasn't the only striker coming in. A v good option to have off the bench. He works his b$%s, he would be good in those Burnley type games for a physical presence. Not a priority though.

Not sure he really has the quality for a top side on paper but then he wouldn't be the first hard-working player to earn a spot playing for one regardless. Hasn't been at his best this season but I think he's played a lot of football in the last two years. General impression I get from Everton fans is that he's seen as one of the few players who really seems to give a shit atm.

Nah, he's no good. He's a very average player and putting him in that space will limit the team so much.

Could be one of them signing you see other teams make and wonder why we didnt get involved example being like Mane.

Wouldn't be expensive and works his balls off, could be timing the move at the right time, with the right club and new manager playing a completely different system to what he has played with at Everton so could he a steal.

Don't think it he big money either, so not be a high risk signing. Could be a system player as well who slot in perfectly with ETH.

What position does he play in?
Richarlison? He can play across the front three but RW is probably where he's the weakest of the three. LW or CF is where you'd really want him.

The individual and the system that Hag wants to implement have to be, obviously, in sync and in doing so United may be linked, as has been the case recently, to alot of so-called unpopular and unfashionable individuals.

Me, I'm open minded. Others will have their favourites though.

Should be another entertaining transfer window for the muppets. :D

Honestly not a bad shout. If Everton gets relegated he would be a cut price deal too. He can be a Jota type signing to be our striker. Not my first choice, but wouldn't hate it at the right price.
Gerard Moreno would probably be my #1 choice for this summer because of his all round play.

I’d say only LW where we have Sancho and Rashford who the new manager will likely try to rehabilitate. He could play CF but not on a regular basis for an aspiring top side
