He be really likeable as a manager with his passion, but the style not for me at club like ours

Glad that horror show is out. Their players should start every game on a yellow card.

The craziest thing about Simeone is how much money he’s on. Pretty sure his salary blows even Pep’s out of the water

Would love to have a manager that could get our players to care as much as he does.

Simone works/is effective in Spain because it is entirely different to the other teams. And he has a total connection with the fans.

He's not everyone's cup of tea, but it works when totally committed to his vision.

It is just hypocrisy when his team gets their own medicine shoved down their throat and then they complain.

He's a dirt bag and his football, if you can even call it that is horrible.

Atlético are shit scared to move on from him because he keeps them competing with Real and Barca despite having much less money. He's safe pair of hands at a time when they've moved stadium, had covid and no fans in stadiums for a year.

I don’t know how people can watch Atletico. I just get so frustrated with the way the play I turn the TV off.

Disgusted by what I have seen. Simeone is anti football. He makes Mourinho look like an Angel. WTF were some of our legends saying, wanting this at our club. I’d rather never win the league ever again, than see this week in week out. I love football and teach my kids right from wrong. His players are not role models.

Deepthroating information to Howard Nurse.
I thought their intensity second half was incredible. They absolutely over ran City, should have had two pens and missed some great chances. Incredible manager but obviously I don’t want us playing the way they do most of the time.

He’s worth every penny. Their overall revenue and stature has increased 10 fold since he’s been in charge. For a period in the last decade (13-16), they were genuinely a top 2/3 team in Europe.

You have to wonder how much non-English football they watch.

It's an atrocity against football to have that kind of a team and have them play that kind of dross.

They could have won had they played like they did in the second half from the start.

He's a great manager obviously but his tactics limit them from really being one of the best.

He is one of the best though? His results speak for themselves.

It’s actually just incredibly pathetic. Grown men behaving like animals, riling up like it’s the end of the world and all of them were framed for murder. The lack of intelligence shown by both the players and the manager is utterly staggering - they are literally throwing away momentum and go to ten men because of antics. The ponytail-guy that was red-carded… did his brain not tell him just once that no player in history has gotten a red card taken back after gesticulating aggressively to the referee? Coming from a colder country where none of us do this nonsense.. I must say, the hardcore gesturing and expressions is just intolerable and headshakingly idiotic as it drags out time and makes the referee hate you even more.

I like some action during these intense games and watching City lose would be cool, but Atletico and Simeone today fell down immensely on my chart. Literally wanting to brawl and act tough instead of trying to score. Some wally even ran with an icepack on his thigh to join the show, literally risked injury to «defend» his chaps, which of course means gesticulating in the face of an Englishman and doing absolutely nothing more about it.

Utterly dominated City in that half. Shame he doesn’t do it more often.
Actually this was the right strategy over two legs.

City are the superior side, and no matter of tactical adjustments will change that. But Simeone's strategy restricted City to 1 goal over 3 halves of football, and then let his team loose in front of a raucous crowd. I'm nearly certain City lose that game if they concede a goal there, they lost their heads and were beaten to second balls, beaten on the dribble, resorting to last gasp tackles and headers by the rear 4 (Stones and Ake when he came on were fantastic).

A more open Atletico would have probably scored 2 goals. They also would have probably conceded 4. And there's no way they dominate City like this for 4 halves of football.

Ugly on the eye, but understandable.

Great point. Nearly played it to perfection. He’s a top class manager.

I agree. Was just making same point on a group. Hard to watch that and not conclude he's a top, top manager. When was the last time anyone ever saw Citeh defend for 45 minutes straight? And even with 10 they nearly pulled something off. Not everyone's cup of tea and the histrionics are off putting, but a world class manager without a doubt.

The 2nd half just confirmed what I think.
He's a disgrace to football and a disgrace to this team. Because this team can play if you let them. They could be great to watch and score of plenty of goals. This squad would be a joy under coaches like Pep or Klopp.

But no, he decides he wants to solely win with negative football and cheating antics.

When he ironically applauded the time wasting of City in the end I burst out in laughter.
What a complete hypocrite.

I'd 10 times rather getting Kovac or Klinsmann back as our as coach instead of ever seeing Simeone on our sideline.

because you support Bayern and are used to success. If you won a league every 15/20 years and you were a disaster in the Uefa Cup, as Atlético was, perhaps you would think otherwise.
He has won two leagues, almost always qualifies for the Champions League and competes in its own way against the best teams in the world.
His style is a bit like selling your soul to the devil but he has stabilized the club, and has managed to sell the story of the "game by game", the punch and the courage so that the fans are to death with him and with the team.
He has lost more than one tie for being too conservative but he is a blessing for Atlético, and therefore for any team that has a historical urgency for results.

City just played Atleti, Liverpool, Alteti and now have Liverpool in FA semi this weekend, all this in a span of 11 days, doesn't matter how good or expensive their squad is they're going to feel fatigue. Going all in to try and secure the victory vs Atleti in the first leg and then playing Liverpool in somewhat of a final on its own, was a tall task. More then Atleti dominating it seem City players were exhausted and failed to keep up intensity over the 90 mins. I think will see more of that when Liverpool knock them out of the FA Cup.

Yes, they’re a horrible team to watch and must be even worse to play against. I’d hate to have Simeone here for that reason. I want us to win, but to win by playing great football. We’ve seen some great matches in the CL recently, and it’s really painful to know, and to be forced to acknowledge, that we’re nowhere near at the minute. But I’m feeling hopeful for the first time in ages, just a little bit, at the prospect of Ten Hag arriving and a new season, after the absolute shitshow of this godawful year. I would not feel this way if we had Simeone coming.

For all the whining and glee (of them losing), they seem to have dominated the second half creating all the chances? Silly antics or not, for AM to do that against City and nearly take it to ET given the results of the two teams, is a good effort. Yes their football and over aggression can be ugly but at least they give every inch of what they have (lols) and push themselves to the limit. Being one chance away from taking City to extra time and possibly winning the tie is a fine effort for AM given they have been crap this season.

Also I'm not sure why people wanted City to win. A CL win will give them the legitimacy they desperately crave.
