Dyche has nothing on this bad boy.Latin Sean Dyche
Atlético are shit scared to move on from him because he keeps them competing with Real and Barca despite having much less money. He's safe pair of hands at a time when they've moved stadium, had covid and no fans in stadiums for a year. The craziest thing about Simeone is how much money he’s on. Pretty sure his salary blows even Pep’s out of the water

Imagine hiring Jose Mourinho as Manchester United manager.Imaging wanting Man Utd to play like that.
He’s worth every penny. Their overall revenue and stature has increased 10 fold since he’s been in charge. For a period in the last decade (13-16), they were genuinely a top 2/3 team in Europe. The craziest thing about Simeone is how much money he’s on. You have to wonder how much non-English football they watch.Disgusted by what I have seen. Simeone is anti football. He makes Mourinho look like an Angel. WTF were some of our legends saying, wanting this at our club. I’d rather never win the league ever again, than see this week in week out. I love football and teach my kids right from wrong. His players are not role models.
You have to wonder how much Football They watch. You have to wonder how much non-English football they watch.
He is one of the best though? His results speak for themselves. They could have won had they played like they did in the second half from the start.
He's a great manager obviously but his tactics limit them from really being one of the best.
If every team played tika taka wouldn’t football be boring.
He is a great character and watching his team lose there heads like tonight is a beautiful thing….you love to see it!
Utterly dominated City in that half. Shame he doesn’t do it more often.
Great point. Nearly played it to perfection. He’s a top class manager.Actually this was the right strategy over two legs.
City are the superior side, and no matter of tactical adjustments will change that. But Simeone's strategy restricted City to 1 goal over 3 halves of football, and then let his team loose in front of a raucous crowd. I'm nearly certain City lose that game if they concede a goal there, they lost their heads and were beaten to second balls, beaten on the dribble, resorting to last gasp tackles and headers by the rear 4 (Stones and Ake when he came on were fantastic).
A more open Atletico would have probably scored 2 goals. They also would have probably conceded 4. And there's no way they dominate City like this for 4 halves of football.
Ugly on the eye, but understandable.
I agree. Was just making same point on a group. Hard to watch that and not conclude he's a top, top manager. When was the last time anyone ever saw Citeh defend for 45 minutes straight? And even with 10 they nearly pulled something off. Not everyone's cup of tea and the histrionics are off putting, but a world class manager without a doubt.Great point. Nearly played it to perfection. He’s a top class manager.
because you support Bayern and are used to success. If you won a league every 15/20 years and you were a disaster in the Uefa Cup, as Atlético was, perhaps you would think otherwise. The 2nd half just confirmed what I think.
He's a disgrace to football and a disgrace to this team. Because this team can play if you let them. They could be great to watch and score of plenty of goals. This squad would be a joy under coaches like Pep or Klopp.
But no, he decides he wants to solely win with negative football and cheating antics.
When he ironically applauded the time wasting of City in the end I burst out in laughter.
What a complete hypocrite.
I'd 10 times rather getting Kovac or Klinsmann back as our as coach instead of ever seeing Simeone on our sideline.

Yes, they’re a horrible team to watch and must be even worse to play against. I’d hate to have Simeone here for that reason. I want us to win, but to win by playing great football. We’ve seen some great matches in the CL recently, and it’s really painful to know, and to be forced to acknowledge, that we’re nowhere near at the minute. But I’m feeling hopeful for the first time in ages, just a little bit, at the prospect of Ten Hag arriving and a new season, after the absolute shitshow of this godawful year. I would not feel this way if we had Simeone coming.I don’t know how people can watch Atletico. I just get so frustrated with the way the play I turn the TV off.
