I'm surprised that he hasn't been getting linked to the bigger clubs sooner, but I guess now makes sense given that more big teams are in need of solid midfielders.I expect Laimer to have a pretty strong market. He’s a good player.

Isn't he a bit mediocre on the ball? I see him more as a role player: fantastic if his team doesn't put too much creative burden on him, but could be a liability if not.I expect Laimer to have a pretty strong market. He’s a good player.
I'd also categorize both Austrians as box2box players rather than holding kids, with Witsel's departure Dortmund definitely need a proper defensive mid though and with Bellingham they already have a box2box starter. Makes me wonder how they are supposed to fit into the plans.

He was playing as a defensive mid a few years back, but over time, I guess he became more useful as a box-to-box player even if he was very good as a midfield destroyer. On the ball, sure, he's not particularly creative, but he can dribble the ball fairly well, which is why he works well in that box-to-box role. His passing is still not too bad even if it's not particularly creative. He has put in some decent balls from the right half-spaces for Leipzig in the past.Isn't he a bit mediocre on the ball? On Schlager, I agree that he's a B2B player. However, his standout trait is his strong tackling and aggressive defending. That's probably why Dortmund are keen on him. Whether they'll convert him into a defensive mid, who knows, but he's a top-tier ball winner.

I don't think he's been fully fit since January and he was injured twice before that as well. Rose said that he assumes Haaland has an injury from the last international break , but that he refuses to do scans and plays on painkillers. That would probably also mean Akanji's transfer to an English club is all but agreed, since they probably need the money they get for him to pay for Schlotterbeck.
