In terms of domestic trophies neither manager has been lacking, in terms of the CL both have.

At least Jose can say he won the biggest prize in club football at two different clubs.

Pep has spent more than any manager in the PL if im not mistaken and has reached 1 final in which his team (lauded as on of the best ever) had a solitary shot on target. like I said I dont expect him not to win it but seeing as they have been favourites to lift it every season hes been here yes in my eyes he has been a failure in European competition.

Saying all that bet they go on and win the damn thing now :D
Jose achievements undoubtedly hold more value.

CL win with Porto (Pep could never).
Treble with Porto and the year before won the Uefa cup with Porto. He essentially cleaned out Europe with fecking Porto

CL win with inter (pep could never).
*Treble with inter

Incredible success with Chelsea the first run around, he was a level above everyone including Sir Alex.

Madrid wins the league title in 11/12 in the midst of the Barca dynasty in a Madrid team that was very very very unlucky not to beat Bayern in the CL semi final. Madrid didn’t leave the R16 for 8 years Before he came.

Goes back to Chelsea and wins the title easily in his second season.

After that I have no idea what happened with him.

In terms of being a coach I think it’s pretty clear he’s another level compared to pep in his prime.

As good as pep is

- greatest Barca team of all time who was winning things far after he left

- Bayern no competition

- City he has billions to play with.

Jose accomplishments are in another galaxy compared to Pep.

'Could it be another one of those classic anfield nights'

oh, feck off!
Must be said I think the world wants to see Liverpool vs City in the final as they are the two best sides in Europe.

They have been dead locked at domestic level. Every game is very close and would make for an exciting final.

If the loser will have to quit football forever, I think I could get on board.

Have Roy Keane as special guest referee

Here is my question to United fans.

Who would you rather win the CL if they are both in the final?

If I was a United fan I would prefer Liverpool win it.

Here is why, the Chance United ever catch Liverpools European successes are pretty slim. If Liverpool have 6 or 7 makes no difference to United.

Similar to Barca looking at Madrid European success, Barca will never catch Madrid and the same goes for United.

However if City win one…, they were already in the final the year before and I could see them getting to the final again. I think it would sting more to see a club like City pass United European successes.

Look at Chelsea who are already on United’s ass…

I would still want City to win, my hate towards Liverpool is too great, I can't help myself wanting them to fail in any way possible.
Plus, if City wins it they have 1 CL title and we have 3. If Guardiola stays at City for another 5 years then yes it's possible for them to get to 3.

At this point it's just about preventing the double or quadruple , treble.
If City win the league i want pool to win it, if pool win the league i begrudgingly want City to win.

Also who said we won't catch pool, it takes us doing a three peat and we'll be right on their ass.
a man can dream.

You really think United will do a CL three peat?

It’s incredibly incredibly difficult. That’s what makes Madrid doing it so incredible.

We're shit currently so obviously no but football can change fast. Millan started 1982 season in the second division and yet they won 3 ucl titles in 5 years and came second several times.

We have the cash and pl is dominating Europe and it seems to stay that way , so if we get our shit together, who knows.
Edit: we almost became the first team to defend their European title and I believe we could have done so had it not been for that bulshit card given to fletcher ( yes im still spiteful and sad :()

Winning their first UCL would be massive for Manchester City and could be the catalyst for them to become a bigger club and legitimate their whole project. It would increase the pull for Manchester City and it could lead for more consistency and dominance over Europe.

Anyway it's pretty fecked up situation for any Manchester United fan as they need to do some serious catch up if they want to be on the same level as Liverpool and Manchester City.

Liverpool, if they win the CL will thoroughly deserve it as they are run as a proper club. I would grudgingly respect anything they do this season, as my main anger is firmly directed at the board for letting this situation happen in the first place. That outweighs any hatred from the rivalry. I don’t know why others don’t feel the same.

City are a massive reason why football is so fecked these days, and any achievements of theirs are from cheating and therefore hollow. I’m not even bothered Chelsea have two for exactly the same reason.

So in terms of the debate above-Liverpool winning is not a huge problem for me. Our boards culpability in the situation is front and centre the main issue.

Anyway, nailed on mauling of Villlareal is going to occur tonight

I can't predict this game at all. I can imagine a Villareal masterclass (in defense) as well as a 5:0 for Liverpool

Absolute madness every director feels compelled to show a certain stadium signing a fecking song, in its entirety and without interruptions.

The world wants Villarreal v Real with the yellow subs lifting the trophy.

I really want Villarreal to win but then I don’t want city to get an easy final if they beat Madrid… a villareal and Madrid final would be perfect… but I think city will go through so I’d rather Liverpool beat them to the CL.
