Last I heard his GF or Ex-GF is refusing to testify against him & the courts or police might just consider it a "domestic" more than an actual rape, you know how soft courts are nowadays & he sure as hell has the money to hire a top lawyer to keep his ass out of prison, which all points to UTD not willing to throw away a £50m+ asset, that's what I think at the moment anyway, right or wrong.
Whether he gets charged or doesn’t through lack of evidence I think his time at United and perhaps playing in England is done. Most of the United squad have wiped their hands off him. Unless he’s got the emotions off a brick the crowds will be on his back. I think he will go abroad if he doesn’t go to jail

I see people mentioning De Jong. Haven’t both parties (FDJ and Barca) come out and say he’s pivotal and going nowhere?

As a first window, I can see:

Timber
Lamptey
Kamara
Anthony/Raphinha
Nkunku
and possibly another CM

One thing for certain it’s going to be a popcorn munching summer.
So presumably you’ve got lamptey for RB and Timber for CB?
Neither is good in the air. Our back post would be vulnerable.
Besides that Lamptey is a RWB not a tradition RB and he can’t defend for tuppance

We will be finding out very soon if he's going to be charged. They applied for a temporary extension to review more evidence which I believe ran to the end of April if memory serves.

He will 100% be playing for us again if he's walks away with no charges. Whether he will ever be the same player again after all that though is another question.

If he's charged then he's finished for sure.
I don’t agree, it seems fairly obvious what he’s been doing. If he gets off it’s because of a technicality or lack of evidence. He won’t be able to play in England again, the fans will have it in for him at every ground. Half his team mates dropped him like a hot potato

remember how stacked we looked at the beginning of the season with all those attacking options. they couldn't do a dam thing because the midfield can't string 2 passes together or give them service or control a game. Impossible as it may seem that Rashford or Martial will ever get back to their best form we have seen them be good goal scoring forwards. who in this current midfield that is sticking around has shown a much higher level then where they currently are. signing one DM and praying he plays every game is not a good enough improvement.
Fred, Bruno, Garner, and McTominay have all shown higher performance levels than Rashford or Martial in the past year alone. Hannibal will also be in the fold. You are forgetting the fact that we started the season with Mason Greenwood, who is now no longer in consideration. We absolutely need more attacking impetus. There's feck all point spending all our dosh in midfield when we don't have a competent forward line. Thankfully, I'm sure Rangnick, Murtough, and Ten Hag know better than that and we'll see a more balanced spread of investment throughout.

Agree Lamptey might not be the best choice, possibly Vagnoman as he looks a great prospect, but I definitely feel Timber would be a great addition.

Agree that Timber looks an excellent prospect
Haven’t seen enough of Vagnoman, not even sure if I have seen him!
i just feel that lamptey is overhyped, in fact I think we’d get more out of him playing RW

Ten Hag has previous for retraining positions. Wouldn’t be beyond the realms of possibility to see Elanga going to RB like Valencia did.

Lucas Netz, Gusto, Djed Spence, Bella-Kotchap, Kamara, Lukeba, Enzo Fernandes, Mohammad Toure, Ekitike, Ugochukwu....lots of players that have ability and room for huge growth that should cost £10m or so

Timber, Antony, Moussa Diaby, Caquret, Giouri, Gravenburch, Sulemana, Doku...loads of massive talents potentially available around £25-40m

Then the likes of DeJong, Gvardiol, , Tchouameni a few potentially and not a millions miles away from world class players around £50-60m

Obviously loads of player I cant even think of or have forgotten or dont even know.

Who knows who our genuine targets are and of course there are going to be a number of sides in the premiership after some of the best talent and other clubs abroad. But I really dotn see how we cant sign five potentially quality signings minimum this summer. Think we can with such a budget, make a big big signing, a couple of realtively big signings and still to two or three potentially quality deals even if they are gambles. Theres a fair few realy good young British players at the top three at the moment, not so many who already arent but theres still a whole host of excellent young players all over Europe ready to make a breakthrough or on the verge of it, jsut the type of signings we used to make.

Personally will be dissapointed if we dont make five signings this summer and that potnetially at least four of them look like top signings .

You could bar the keeper pretty much sign a new first eleven from those names and half of them are potentially massive players from what I have seen of them. Gusto, Kamara and Ekitike I think have excellent potential for £30/40m combined and Im surprised nobody seems to mention Caqueret much for £25m, would be a really astute signing pound for pound comapred to other bigger names mentioned and SUlemana (sadly left sided) and Gvardiol (sadly expensive) and Giouri £45m odd are for me genuine potential superstars....all seven would probaboy cost about £220m I would guess, Kamar is the only one at the moment I see as a genuine possiblr target but there are plenty of examples of peoples lists signing 5 players+ that look potentially promising in terms of progress, this window really should involve significant progres in the starting eleven in four positions for me with huge potential in a couple of others, any less and I think its a poor window inwardsly, outwardly should be so so much more going on

My dream window would be: Tchouameni, Frenkie De Jong, Pau Torres, Livramento and Jonathan David. I've already accepted the overwhelming likelihood that we won't get any of them though.
You may be close there. Pau Torres and De Jong could be 2 of your 5. But I think we need 6 players this summer, to start the rebuild. CB, RB, DM, CM, RW, CF.

Can see 4 at an absolute max (CB,RB,DM & CF)

Surprised if Barcelona sells Frenkie de Jong for £60-70m. £80-90m is more likely. Rice is probably in the same price category. £180m and we have a very very competitive midfield and attack

—— Bruno——Rice——de Jong
Greenwood—Ronaldo——Sancho

First off for 180m that midfield is so underwhelming, secondly why are you even including Greenwood?

Signing Christian Eriksen for free would be brilliant piece of business.

It would certainly add depth and experience to the squad.
From what I am hearing he is more than likely to still be a Bee next season ;)

Because the situation still is uncertain. The police hasn’t clarified its position on the case: if there is a case or not to bring against him.
its looking weak imo. The police usually build a file to send the cps quite quickly if theres a strong case. For my money, it hasn't happened yet because the ex gf isnt cooperating and they wont refer a case to the cps if they dont think theres a chance of securing a conviction. If she wont testify in court it would be cps lawyers trying to make something of a recording which his lawyers could just fob off as roleplay or misunderstood etc etc. There wont be any other witness. i think it wont come to anything legally but i could be wrong.

his reputation and continuation of his football career is another matter

How likely is it that we don't get anyone in this transfer window? I'm mentally preparing myself for the worst

Sign all the frees!

Bernardeschi, Eriksen, Belotti, Dembele, Simons, Tarkowski, Johnstone, Kamara.

Sign Tchouameni and a pair of fullbacks and we'll be sorted after letting go about 10 players ourselves, pretty much break even too.

What happened to £100-£150m? Does the 200 figure include sales?
200m isn’t the update figure anymore. We are probably only going 3 players this summer with not more than 50m each in average.

That’s a no go. 10000% won’t happen. If it did then the owners best prepare for a new world war.

We need atleast one striker who can score, one central midfielder who can retain possession and pass the fecking ball 10 yards infront and one central defender who doesn't have one feck up every game.

That's the bare minimum.

0 chance Southampton would sell JWP for £25m

Not trying to be an ass, just giving my 2 cents:
- We should stay away of British players for a while ; we've been cooked already, no need to do it again but somehow I do agree that JWP would not be a bad addition to the squad, Lamptey as well. With British players though, recently, it's more of a gamble than taking a random guy from South America.
- PL proven doesn't exist, it means jack shit
- Touchameni will be wanted by everyone and their dog, I don't think we have a chance in hell to get him
- Nunez is very very rough. He's a good goalscorer but he seems to be lacking a bit of technique in my opinion which, considering the game in EPL is much much faster, will hinder him and us quite a lot.

Yeah, I’d reckon the “10+” player overhaul RR mentioned is the 3-4 transfer window plan or such. £100-£150m plus sales is probably the spend figure this window, and that gets you around 2-3 players. Hopefully we can get 1 of 2 quality freebies to add to the squad on top of the 2-3 signings.

No chance that our budget is anywhere near 200m even if we manage to sell off some players.
Sure, some expensive players will leave on free but who could we realistically sell for good money this summer..?

Net budget will probably be way less than 100m, I would guess closer to 50m.

We still owe more than 300m from previous transfers, and 200m of those are due to be paid within the next 12 months (from the last quarterly report).

Ignoring the fact that they won't sell him for anywhere near as low as £25million, JWP isn't who we should be looking at. Take away the free kicks and dead ball delivery and he's a very ordinary above-average midfielder who doesn't really fit the positional profile of what we're looking in a midfielder. He's not a particularly young player either. This would pretty much be our own version of the Charlie Adam to Liverpool transfer. The others are decent targets.

You'd imagine JWP would get a crazy amount of assists from his set-pieces alone at a top club (by virtue of them getting more corners/dangerous free kicks from being in the oppositions final third more)
