That depends how much you want to define, distinguish and deploy violence in the context of self-defence. And in this thread, whose doing the self-defending.
Furthermore, I was referring to innocent civilians who should never be part of any military conflict...on both sides.
Plenty of examples of Israeli aggression against innocent civilians in this thread, with no context of self defence whatsoever. You often come up with a way to defend it or you try to whatabout your way out of it.

Anyway, no point arguing, it's just sad you (and many Israel supporters) are so indifferent to the suffering your state is causing.

When the Palestinian's truly care about building their own state instead of destroying another, then the suffering on both sides will stop,

And if they don't agree to move off their land, your happy with the continued slaughter of civilians and the apartheid?

Waving or wearing Israeli flags, hundreds of right-wing nationalist marchers shouted angrily by the wall of Jerusalem's Old City as Israeli police blocked them from heading to the main gate to the Muslim Quarter.

"We came here because it's the Passover holiday, to show that this city is ours, that it belongs to the nation of Israel," said Matan, gripping the hand of his smallest child. "This is our city, our capital, our country."
Lovely folks these Israelis…it was ‘death to Arabs’ last year.

What is happening in Ukraine got me thinking about the parallels with Israel and Palestine. Why do the Russian citizens accept the destruction of whole cities, the killings, the rapes, and having millions of Ukrainians become refugees? Why aren't they protesting? Because they believe that Ukraine should not exist, that it is an "artificial" country "corrupted" by the West. The Russians have to "denazify" it, to cleanse Ukraine. That's what many Russians think, and that's why they accept all those killings. And why doesn't the West stop the massacre? Because the Russians have nukes.

I think the same would happen to Israel if Iran had nukes. They don't accept that Israel has a right to exist. There are many fanatics that want to completely eliminate Israel. Of course, in this case Israel has the nukes and not Iran or Egypt. That's why Israel still exists.

Before the war in Ukraine, I used to think that Israel is the strong force, and Palestinians are the weak side, and we should sympathize and support with the weak side. However, now I am thinking that maybe Israel is actually the outnumbered side like Ukraine, and the countries around it have many million people and also have oil and want to eliminate it (like Russia). I have also realized how big a deal is that one side does not accept that the other side should even exist. And I am starting to see this middle east conflict with a different perspective.

What do you think? Am I wrong?

I think there are far too many differences in the dynamics of each conflict for you to be ‘right’ in an objective sense…

now I am thinking that maybe Israel is actually the outnumbered side like Ukraine, and the countries around it have many million people and also have oil and want to eliminate it
…but it is correct that, whether right or wrong, this is how most Israelis have traditionally seen things, and that this view has impacted their approach to the Palestinians.

What is happening to Ukraine is what is happening to the Palestinians and has been happening for the last 70 odd years.

Other way round.....as usual.:nono:

Speaking as 70,000 Russian troops massed on Ukraine’s borders, sparking global fears of an imminent invasion, Zelensky told the forum that Ukrainians and Jews were bonded by similar historical experiences.

“We know what it’s like not to have our own state,” Zelensky said. “We know what it means to defend one’s own state and land with weapons in hand, at the cost of our own lives. Both Ukrainians and Jews value freedom, and they work equally for the future of our states to become to our liking, and not the future which others want for us. Israel is often an example for Ukraine.”

You keep on parroting this line as if it means anything. Zelensky is appealing to Israel as they’re unashamedly on the fence regarding the Russian invasion. Why do you think Benett was flying to Putin? Any direct statement from Israel will obviously make their situation in Syria (vis a vis Russia) tenuous. Zelensky is playing a political angle.

Anywho, the reality is Russia and Israel are similar in this instance considering they’re invading a nation, ethnic cleansing and erasing and eradicating their culture. Everyone can see that.

The Palestinian situation is a direct result of several failed genocidal Arab invasions on Israel.
Everyone can see that.

Israel stole which land from who exactly?

PLO charter 1964:

Article 24. This Organization does not exercise any regional sovereignty over the West Bank in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, on the Gaza Strip or the Himmah Area. Its activities will be on the national popular level in the liberational, organizational, political and financial fields.

Blah blah blah, how many settlers have stolen land?
How many innocent people have been butchered by your paymasters?
A country trying to wipe out the innahibtants of land to claim it as their own?

israel is an apartheid pariah state and you trying your best to defend it is laughable.

israel is a country who has to pay people to defend its ‘reputation’ online sounds a bit like Russia…

600,000 - 750,000
Illegal settlers in the occupied Palestinian territories
150+
Settlements
128+
Outposts
42%
Of West Bank land controlled by settlements
86%
Of East Jerusalem for Israeli state and settler use

The majority of settlements have been built either entirely or partially on private Palestinian property

Today, between 600,000 and 750,000 Israelis live in these sizeable settlements, equivalent to roughly 11 percent of the total Jewish Israeli population.

They live beyond the internationally recognised borders of their state, on Palestinian land that Israel occupied in 1967, comprising East Jerusalem and the West Bank.

Wow! I've touched a nerve.

Seems you can't accept that fact that the possession of West Bank and Gaza have NOTHING to do with the Palestinian cause unless the wrong religion is living on it.

There's a term for that.

So why didn't the suffering stop in 1964?

Decent outline of the basic dynamics underlying recent events on the Temple Mount/Haram al-Sharif

Status woe: Temple Mount is an enduring thorn in Israel’s ties with Jordan
Israel nixed a US-proposed committee with Jordan to iron out disagreements on flashpoint site after 2021 war; now, those unresolved issues have come home to roost

Renaming's clearly your thing.

Jordan's West Bank shall now be known as Palestine's West Bank because the Israeli's won it off errr, umm, well, they won it and it's wrong.
israel wasnt even a place before 1947 or am I mistaken here?

It was called Palestine

Its since been stolen bit by bit.

Theres a reason its called ‘occupied’

You as usual talking out your arse wont change those facts.

Just waiting on your ‘hasbara pack for beginner trolls’ videos and pics to be posted…
