Scholes literally said he did on live TV to be fair.
Telling a club legend what's going on at the club seems fair enough to me. You probably don't expect him to go on live tv and tell the world what you've said. Fair enough, though. He did say that to Scholes. We have no idea if he's said anything to any journalists.

His brother's a dickhead but I thought it was a bit petty of Ralf to put on Cavani instead, who has also been unhappy and has been more of a global ambassador then a player for us this season.

we are really sentiment FC, if he wanted to play, it should be first and foremost quality and form. Its personally sad, but he was paid nicely whole time, unfortunately was not subbed on yesterday, but to complain about this seems so United nowadays like we are charity not top club

This is a player that has posted himself in West Ham's jerseys after defeats this season. Thia is a player that has bacusally accused his coach of lying in public. He deserves feck all.

Agreed. Like I said in the match thread, if this was during Fergusons time he wouldnt play for us anymore either.

His brother apparently took the piss last night.
I think he probably deserved a send off but he himself hasn't exactly been a shining statue of professionalism now has he.

Meh, should have gone years ago.

If we want to be a serious club again, its good that hes going. Contributed to some good moments (esp the FA cup final goal).

An academy graduate since 9 deserves some form of send off.
I'm sure he'll get one in a programme at the end of the season.

He isn't retiring, he isn't leaving because he's passed it, he's decided to leave because he's decided to run his contract down because he thought he would get a bumper deal. We've had better graduates not get send off's that also weren't toxic little bellends. He'll be moonwalking at Newcastle in a couple of months, he doesn't deserve anything other than what he's brought upon himself

I've said this before, and this is just based on what I've seen/read on TV and social media, Lingard is toxic. Think he has had a huge impact on Rashford too, for the worse obviously. His brother's post just adds to that. Good riddance, he is the definition of what we have become in recent years: all talk, no walk and the definition of average.

You’re one to talk. The same guy that’ll back players that have literally done less for this club the Lingard but they don’t ‘moonwalk’ & they fit a certain archetype. He’s been with the club since 9, we pride ourself on our academy. The excuse ‘Player X’ didn’t get one is irrelevant as that would be as wrong in their cases as this one. Brought upon himself? You’re a parody at this point.

Surely the lap of honour was his opportunity for a ‘send off’.

Really don’t get what Jessparagus’ brother expects. He’s not good enough to get in shit United side so what, we just put him on the pitch for the sake of it?

Agreed! Is there an unwritten rule that states that each/every player gets a "send off"? No.

Go back in history to see players that were much better than Lingard who didn't receive a "token" appearance on his last game at Old Trafford.

I also believe that Jesse has full veto power on what his brother "tweets" about and this latest tweet sounds like it's coming from the player as much as the brother.

Lingard under Fergie?

It's one out of two:

a) He would've been a radically different player (a good squad player, possibly)

b) He would've been moved on years ago

 What are you talking about? Who’ve I backed that’s got your knickers in a twist? Probably someone who’s not walked their contract down and got their bother the slag the club off on a regular basis via social media?

We pride ourselves on good players from the academy getting a send off they deserve. Not weasels who’ve stolen a living for years and blamed everyone at the club and even gone to the extent of calling his manager a liar.

The PL is littered with youth players from United, should they all get a standing ovation when they come to OT?

The thing about respect is it works both ways. If you want to launch a brand on the Eve of the Derby, pose on social media in other teams colours while your employer is getting hammered, or leak random stories to the press, it really shouldn’t come as much of a surprise when they tell you you’re free to leave out of the back door. Regardless of how many years you’ve bothered to show up for.

Yeah. I'll be glad to see the back of this guy. It's funny that Ole wanted to build a British core at the club that would in theory have more loyalty to the club. But, with Lingard, Rashford, Greenwood, Sancho, Shaw, Maguire and Wan Bissaka out of the line-up yesterday the team played better than it has for a while. You can add the French contingent of Pogba and Martial to that list. I still have some hope for Sancho and Shaw but I hope all the rest are gone this off-season. Lingard being first! The guy didn't deserve a send-off. He hasn't deserved his paycheck in a long time.

I remember him cowering on the floor of the team bus when the West Ham fans were rollicking it a few years back. All the other players sitting calmly and Lingard hiding under his seat. In my opinion, this guy has always put himself before the club. We owe him nothing but a good shove out the door.

This isn't discussed very often from the Lingard defenders here. Ferguson would've dismissed him years ago for what's bolded above, so his brother should be thanking the current United for keeping Jesse for as long as they have!

None of us know if he leaked anything.
True but if I had to bet my life savings on picking one player who's been behind a significant number of the leaks over the last few years Jesse would be very high on my list.

He's been getting very favourable coverage by journalists in the press the last 18 months.

Taking those incidents into consideration he can have no complaints that Ralf didn't play him yesterday. He's made himself unavailable for selection a few times this season so he's no case to be upset for not getting picked when he is available.

Ole was the one that made false promises to Lingard about playing time, it's not Rangnick's fault he got lumbered with a player he did not want. Lingard should have been allowed to go to West Ham but Ole was too weak to let him.

It was so visible to the naked eye what those core players have done to the club.

It's incredible how the people who are more visible on the camera, SM, are the worst employees to the club.

We should learn our lessons and never again have such characters on our team

You talk about respect working both ways & call him a weasel from behind a keyboard. A trainee leaving shouldn’t draw such vitriol, & given its coming from a posters that has died on the hills of some of the clubs worst performers in recent history it’s rather fitting. The hypocrisy in thinking you deserve something you don’t show yourself surely can’t have missed you.

We rejected offers from West Ham last summer yet you keep talking about running down contracts when the club, as per, acted against its own interests.

Lingard is a symptom of the many problems at the club, he should leave but an academy graduate leaving under these circumstances isn’t solely on the player. As a club we should have handled this better & I’ll always feel a sense of regret when players like this move on under a cloud.

He's a weasel, and if I played alongside him at United I'd be happy to let him know what I thought of him and his constant leaks. The vitriol aimed at Lingard is done so because he has made himself a target, unless you're suggesting he's being unfairly targeted for some reason? In which case, I'd love to hear your claim for the defence of Jesse Lingard, the worlds most misunderstood footballer. I'd love to know which players I've backed? Because I'll tell you right now, I'd be happy with every single one of them leaving in the summer with the exception of Ronaldo. Why would I think I deserved respect from Jesse Lingard? What are you talking about? You're making this perversely specific, like you're Jesse's brother or something. I don't give a shit about him and I'm absolutely sure he doesn't give a feck about me.

We rejected low ball offers from West Ham last summer. Jesse never pushed for a move and Ole wanted to keep him, then he tried to move on loan in January but it was blocked. He should have gone in the summer we don't know the reasons why he chose not to but it is what it is. He's had multiple seasons to sign a new contract though, and he's run it down because he wasn't being played, and he wasn't being played because he is shite and has a big mouth. He's chosen to blame the club for those things.

What about when Michael Keane left? Januzjai? Macheda? Pogba the first time round? Should the club have handled it better? Guard of honour maybe?

I'm seeing on social media people still defending this guy. Like some sort of an injustice has been done to him. Everything wrong with modern fans today :annoyed:

9 years of service and then you act like a diva and expect respect back? These type of players who expect the world because they’re on some big bucks and play for an important club are why we are so underwhelming in the pitch. They’re oblivious to what the fans are seeing and pampered to the extreme.

So fed up of having our players/their relatives/their agents moaning to the media.
