i can’t think of a single reason why Frenkie would want this move. This is never happening.

I'm really asking this : Do you think that De Jong is suitable for the PL ? because I'm not sure

Here we go with the Prem mystique again.

I swear some of you have the Premier League as if it's a different sport being played with rocket-boosts on players' backs.
Why? I mean... why?
Because he's not physical enough, he's not some what an athlete, he doesn't have an "engine"

He'd be the Carrick deep-lying playmaker replacement we've been dying for for years
Sounds too good to be true. All the talk of destroyers, DMs etc but I've always wanted a playmaker at United. Someone with that intelligence and weight of pass. Utterly neglected area.

I know everyone is saying that we'll need pretty much 10 signings this summer but I'm putting this here: if we sign FDJ and Tchouameni and nobody else, I'd be ecstatic with just those 2.

I don't think you can force a player to sign a contract with any club.
Sure but Di Maria is a good example of how obligation transfers can go sour.

Where’s that come from?
Damn it, when did he tell you that?
I remember it was reported by some credible sources. I could be wrong of course but it correlates with both De Jong and Xavi saying they want to stay for many years. And that Xavi caveating the only way hed be obligated to sell is if theres a silly offer.

A reminder

This season, the so-called Double 6 was the solution?

“Well like I said, the players’ qualities determine how you play. Take Frenkie de Jong. We have really been looking to find ways to use his skills in the best manner. Where can he play best, for the team and to showcase his talent. Everyone was screaming: Frenkie is the biggest talent, etc etc. Well yes. But, where? In midfield? Ok, but which role? His quality is that he makes the forwards perform better. He is a wanderer, an adventurer, he’s always on the move, like a shark. With the ball, often, but also without the ball. So if you put him on 6, he’s away too often. But you need to give him freedom, otherwise you can’t the best out of him. It wasn’t an easy puzzle, so I dediced to play with two number 6s and only one attacking mid. And in this way, we can also dominate the half space, and force opponents to choose. So on the first day of pre-season, that is how we started. And we started without Frenkie, by the way, as he wasn’t fit at the start of the pre-season.”

They have Kessie coming in too
Kessie is pretty far from the Barcelona DNA, letting De Jong go for him would be absurd. That's a really bad call from Barcelona if it does happen. They blew a boatload of money on Torres to end up selling De Jong, I guess Laporta will loose a lot of credibility after that (if true).

I think this is someone at Barca trying to muddy the waters. I don't believe it. Barca are trying to force him out.

Being reunited with Ten Hag and getting a chance to play in another top league. He played the best football of his career so far under ETH and he knows how to get the most out of him more than any manager, even the Netherlands manager.

Although I always thought he'd end up somewhere like City with Pep rather than us if he ever left Barca, I still believe it wouldn't be a bad move for him. A year without CL footy could prove to be worth it for him long term

Is he prepared to graft? i would prefer an up and coming talent rather than yet another player who costs a bomb and then phones in his performance each week
He's 24 years old. Not exactly an old has been. Probably haven't hit his peak yet

Oh yess. Give it to me

Will buy the new shirt with his name if he arrives, magical. Dream signing, him and Verratti are my favourite players to watch.

Hope he's not like ADM and is genuinely excited at making it big here.

Please tell me we’re giving them Rashford in some sort of a deal, as I’ll put that down as one of the best deals we’ve ever done.

Because how much would he cost? I’m guessing we’ve got to sell a bit if we really want to make that 4-5 new player ideal summer.

If it happens, I'd hope Ten Hag is a good judge of his character and feels he would have the right attitude about it.

Fingers crossed it'd end up being a Robben to Bayern type deal rather than a Di Maria coming here one.

He doesn't want to come but was apparently obligated if Barca accepted a big fee right?
I suppose he could reject personal terms, but with Barcelona in the financial position they're in, it would get very awkward for him I'd imagine. He's probably one of a limited number of players that they could get big money for and would be willing to lose.

Haha, it’s almost as if 80% of the best players currently in the prem came from foreign leagues……

Why do I get the feeling he might have similar issues to Pogba in the PL...
