Madrid are European royalty and arguably one of the biggest club in the world but this whole narrative that get who they want has been built on fact they were willing to blow every other club in the world in terms of wages and transfer fees for the players they truly wanted , so suddenly seeing their supporters tying themselves into knots when other Club is doing something similar to keep the player is quite funny .

I'm torn, PSG have been mismanaged in the last few years and I don't know if Mbappé can supersede that. I also don't want to see him anywhere near Madrid because their arrogance has been particularly grating, if rumours are true they "abandoned" their second option, Haaland, because they think that Mbappé is/was a done deal.

For me ideally he would go to Bayern, United or stay in Ligue 1. The rest can do one.
Football fans in general are weird. Most people should be happy if he’s staying with PSG. How are you a fan of a supposedly competitive sport and want to see the best talents always end up at the same clubs rather than, you know, compete?

stay at fecking PSG and try to bag them a CL. Madrid has like 13 of those. I hate seeing players running from the grind to go join “historical clubs”, especially when they are already at a club that affords them a good chance at winning the big one, which PSG is. I can understand moving from a Everton/West Ham - but PSG is now a big dog - instead of running away to join someone else’s legacy how about beat them and create your own where you are and then move after if you want to try something new.

and I never subscribed to the anti Ligue 1 snobbery. Ligue 1 has repeatedly provided some of the best talent the premier league has ever seen. It wasn’t long ago Ligue 1 clubs were also kicking English clubs out of the CL so

What the feck

I guess this is why PSG were being so stingy with Pogba.

How do you get away with giving a player a 300m signing on fee
When you have your club president buying their way to the UEFA executiive committee and suddenly ending up with FFP stopping existing in reality shortly after...

He'll regret this pretty soon IMO. Legacy ruined.
I don't know, potentially ending up as their top scorer all time and bringing their first UCL, to go along with his WC, by the age of 25/26 would make him arguably the biggest French football star in his hometown and country...

He will always have time for his big move later on when he begins his true prime but that type of potential legacy would be invaluable.

It might be a blow to their sense of self importance short term but they'll be fine. They'll likely end up signing Tchouameni and a quality RW to join the impressive young spine they're building along with the future Ballon D'Or still being around for the next 2 years at least
They need Tchouameni to an existing midfield of Camavinga, Casemiro, kroos, modric, Valverde, Isco?
I mean even if they sign its going to be a waste of money.

You mean "ever"? If not, he already is those things

Modric, Kroos and Casemiro aren't their future. They've been together for close to a decade now, now is the time to invest in their replacements and they've already started with Camavinga and Valverde coming through the last few years

He's 23 ffs, a lot of legendary players wrote their legacy after they're 25-26

State sponsored utter fecking stupidity.

That 300m should belong to all of the people of Qatar, not just one ridiculously overpaid football player. Madness.
Could you tell us when it was acknowledged that Ivan Castello from eurosport.es was a reliable source?

I have odd feelings on this. As much as I don’t like Real for always making huge money signings, I think was in the boat that is would be better for football in general if he went to Real just so the state oil backed Qataris would lose.

Just seems like a total waste for him to stay in that league that no one cares about where his team can sleepwalk through the league season year after year and then choke in the CL because said league doesn’t prepare them for the massive step up in quality during the later rounds.

It’s nice to see this happen simply because of all those cringe fans of clubs who aren’t Real Madrid that worship them and Perez like he’s some sort of mob boss.

That's a pretty wild alternative...

Really don’t understand the fascination with Richarlison. He looks like a slightly above average player who doesn’t even stand out at a shocking Everton side.

Nowhere near Real Madrid quality.

Laughing at all these "state sponsored money" comments. Umm, who was the other club in the running again? Oh it was... Real Madrid- a club who was repeatedly bashed for being funded/bailed out by the Spanish government all the time when they made big signings.

The money is crazy. He's got to be the highest paid athlete of all time. Billionaire soon- just incredible. I wouldn't say no either, and nobody in this forum in their right mind would either.

He picked more money. PSG can afford it. Welcome to capitalism.

The thing is as well is I feel like it's just delaying the inevitable, it's only going to be a 3 year contract i'm reading so after that he still could easily go to Real Madrid and only be 26/27 and nearly be a billionaire

@JPRouve - not financially motivated move apparently.

The dumbest move by a club for probably a very long time. Further proof he doesn't care about football but cares about money.

Can't wait to see his motivation now that he is literally worth half a billion.

Same, he was tied to PSG last season in case Mbappé left and I was not convinced at all.

He'd be a bigger idiot to turn that money down, it's not about loving football or some nonsense about him being a business first and footballer second. He's not even that big a star in truth, probably due to playing for who he does and where he does.

"He doesn't care about football" Dude PSG has Messi, Neymar, Marquinos, Verrati and Dona on it. Its not like he picked a championship team haha get off the drugs.

I don't even like PSG but some of the comments on here are juvenile.

If the rumors are true about a 50 mil a year contract plus a 100 mil sign on fee, Mbappe would be smart to stay. On a 2 year deal he gets 200mil plus any commercial deals. He can then move at 25 yo with a massive bank account plus more then enough time to become a legend to a massive club.

Anything anti-Dipper
This is one of the most insane things I have ever heard (contract, signing fee, power given to a player.)
