I have no idea either, yet.
I don’t think any team would ever achieve the treble in future, its really hard and kind of impossible feat.
Both these teams came pretty close and with the depth of squads I'd say it's a matter of time. But that said, it show's what an achievement it was. Also hats off to that Arsenal team that were breathing down our neck domestically,

I don’t think anyone will ever win all four either. It takes too much to do.

It's our third 90+ points finish in 5 seasons. And he got us to the absolute brink of a quadruple, the likes of which Kompany still masturbates over.

I'm glad this failed fraud of a manager has signed for another two seasons, until 2026. Liverpool fans are happy. Utd fans are happy.
Been speaking to a scouse mate of mine about this.

When united were the top, dominant team, we were the team. Hardly anyone was close, and not close enough to say you were the dominant team in English football.

Liverpool are one of the dominant teams in football. It sucks because in any other period they'd dominate, but in this period where they're onto, there's another team in Manchester that's just that little bit better than them. To finish on over 90 points and not win the league is unheard of, and youve done 3 times as you've said. That must truly suck. Truly.

Not just because it's Liverpool in front, I want Real Madrid to win it to make Karim Benzema's story even better as the man who finally broke out of Cristano Ronaldo's shadow and became a legitimately undisputed leader.

Hard to call it the "absolute brink" of a quadruple when you've won two trophies, and the two least coveted of the four, at that. We can start to use the word brink if you win on Saturday, but Real Madrid haven't lost a CL final since the eighties. In fact, they haven't lost a final of any kind for something like a decade.

Couldn't care less about what type of treble it is though, it's still a treble of trophies whereas we've had a miserable season.

And if they win the CL again they've got more than double the amount we have, which is pathetic when you think of how long SAF ruled England.

Tbf they've never suffered a horrific airplane accident that decimated one of their best ever teams. We could've easily had a few more European cups and league titles if not for Munich.

Anyway let's hope Madrid get the job done.

You do care otherwise you’d not have posted that.

I care that they're winning trophies, not that the type of trophies matters much, beyond the league and CL. Thankfully they haven't won the league, fingers crossed for Saturday.

United aren’t having success at the moment but I’m still a proud United fan.

We haven’t accomplished what we should have in Europe (Munich robbed us of a few extra EC’s, Heysel set English football back many years in Europe and UEFA rules on nationality hindered us in the early days of Sir Alex). We’ve also fallen short a few times and not had enough to get over the line.

We are a unique club though and one to be proud of. First to win the European Cup and first to win the Champions League. Only to win the treble. It will get better but don’t lose sight of what the club actually is.

We’ll never get closer to achieving a quadruple imo. Shoutout to the referee’s for trying to help us out.

There's one question that needs to be answered, irrespective of whether they win the CL.

Will there be a book?

You don't like it because you don't like that it shows a more dominant team is performing better than lower points team that you support. It's also giving your rival objective credit, where it is due given their performances in the last few seasons.
Wait do you think if Fergie was still here and realized it now took >90 points to win the league because of Pep or Klopp he wouldn't have been able to?

Old man was always a pragmatist, he almost always wins the league with the least amount of point that was needed to do so and if Fergie were still around now you can bet your house Pep wouldn't have 4 titles in 5 years.

100%, City got their totals this last few years because of Liverpool. You just need to finish ahead of the competition.

Man Utd are trailblazers. Always have been. Always will be (in my opinion).

We were also the first English team to win the Club World Cup.

We were also the first English team to win the Premier League, which meant we were the first English team to win the domestic league in the 'modern era' of football*

*The biggest ever rule change in football was introduced in 1992 (the pass-back rule). The new rule marked the start of the 'modern era' of football. The rule was in force for the start of the first ever Premier League campaign in 1992/93 - of which Man Utd won.

In fairness you gave it a proper go. I still feel if you'd gone ahead before we did vs Villa things could have been very different.

Exactly what I was thinking but don’t you think Pep wouldn’t have told the team. You gotta a reckon being in first with such a fine margin the mgr surely wouldn’t tell his team any results.

I don't think it'd come from the manager. I think the depression in the crowd (we've got a notably anxious crowd) would have put pressure on the players, theres no guarantee we wouldn't have got the 3rd but I think it would have killed the momentum we were building up.

Maybe, but if it wasn’t ended before it should really end all talk of city being fragile mentally. You’ve won every close title race in the past decade. Fair fecking play.

The Spurs match was the one I felt Liverpool had to win although it was their trickiest game of the run in. I never anticipated City would be 2-0 down at home to Aston Villa but I felt that was the most significant result in the run in. It meant that the dropped points against West Ham were affordable in the end (although only just considering how shite City were for most of today)

Yeah, I think we have a ridiculous belief in the league, people just spout bottle at every team that loses a game these days. I think its two super strong teams going toe to toe. You guys have now lost to us by a point with over 90 points twice without really putting a foot wrong. Insane stuff really. I think you'll win another couple before 2026. Its weird how people said the league will never turn into La Liga but Pep and Klopp proving that wrong.
