Good shit so far, only thing...guess same as most, that chase part, when that merc got blocked by downed branch/tree was laughing my ass off, how stupid that looked.
Felt like I was playing Dead by Daylight where you can hold off the killer by dropping pellets on him.

I assumed that Reva was the one of the younglings shown at the beginning of episode 1 and expect that to be expanded upon in the following episodes. If I'm wrong I've set myself up for a minor disappointment there.

Thoroughly enjoyed both episodes though, apart from the chase scenes with Leia. The first one with the mercs I thought looked especially ridiculous.
It was terrible

 are those scenes at the beginning really from the prequels? They're worse than I imagined! I've never seen them. Should I keep watching? I did enjoy Mando (and the og trilogy obv).

Which scenes?

Some are new, some are from the 90s

Truth like rain don't give a feck who it falls on.
Not sure I like this yet, I was really excited but some of the acting just isn't there for me. Leia is just annoying, Ewan seems a little off in his dialogue, I can't explain it properly but it feels like he recorded all his lines separately and then just inserted them and stitched them together at times. Like instead of sounding like his responses to people flow in conversation his inflection makes it sound like a brand new conversation, I am explaining this terribly but it just comes across a little jarring.

Also burying his lightsabers in about 6 inches of sand on a planet that has sand storms, there didn't appear to be a lot of thought so far in how things come across. The scene where 3 grown adults couldn't outrun or catch a little girl who had a 3 foot head start was ludicrous. The part where one of them runs into a log is just embarrassing. A random nobody Jedi stops Revas knife with the force and then uses the force to bring down some flimsy wooden barriers that wouldn't stop anyone from giving chase but Obi Wan a former member of the Jedi Council has to strain like he's taking the biggest shit in the world to just about manage to use the force again. Which he could have just done originally to stop her running off given they were in a secluded alley rather than having to jog after her like 'noooo, come back'.

Reva looks like a great character to add in and I love the 'mudblood' type motivation, but the fact that they ruined the Grand Inquisitor with his really silly looks and voice only to then see him further look like a punk in episode 2 getting stabbed like that is something I can't understand. It wasn't necessary to make Reva look like a badass, she already did; that could have stretched out to much later episodes but instead you get the Grand Inquisitor who is supposed to be a big bad, massive badass, everyone fears him etc instead getting brief screentime where he walks around a lot and talks the talk but at the first opportunity, gets punked.

I'm trying really hard to like it and I think by the end, on balance I will but the first 2 episodes made me a little worried.

I'm very disappointed to see all the racist hatred at Moses Ingram that's blown up on the Internet the last few days.

It's really shameful, they attack Disney by attacking her.

Whoever is editing posts to put spoilers in them needs to familiarise themselves with the spoiler policy on the Caf or change the policy.

- spoiler tags do not need to be used if the episode has been shown on television anywhere in the world AND the thread title relates to the TV show in question.
- If you haven't watched the latest episode keep out of the thread.

I did think the lightsabers being buried was daft, and also that he knew exactly where to look. Regarding the Obi-Wan using the force thing though, I feel like they’d established that he’d been cut off from the force for a very long time. He’s struggling to communicate with Qui-Gon, has to engage in hand to hand combat whereas before he’d just brush them aside, and was basically forced into using the force again to save Leia’s life. Some of the acting is definitely ropey, but mainly from the inquisitors, Ewan McGregor is great as usual.

The lightsaber thing, was purely done to match up with The Rise of Skywalker.

Another bit of Disney Stupidity.

Also, if Leia had now met Obi Wan, her message in A new hope now makes no sense.

Why go through all the crap about serving her father in the clone wars etc.

The message thing is a bit weird, because on the one hand it now makes perfect sense that she would contact him again for help - he’s a hero to her. But on the other hand the message makes less sense because she should say something like ‘remember me? You saved me from falling to my death as a kid’. But then Star Wars is constantly shooting itself in the foot with retcons and stuff. They should never have been siblings in the first place if you ask me.

Maybe they'll somehow end up erasing her memory of the abdction and encounter... I'm just guessing and hoping, so it'll make sense

Feet up at home.
Just watched the first 2 and enjoyed it pretty much. Far better than that Fett mess. You can pick holes in anything but this kind of series is just escapism and none of the plot holes have jar jarred too badly so far.

I really enjoyed the first two episodes coming off of Boba Fett, which just felt pointless. Seeing Obi Wan again after 20 years was fantastic - I think he’s one of the only “legitimate” Star Wars characters left now in the sense that he was in Lucas movies and is largely beloved by all the fans in both iterations. The original three were done dirty in the god awful sequels. Because of this legitimacy, this feels like Star Wars in a way that the other stuff hasn’t. Them leaning in to the prequel cinematography and aesthetic was not expected but surprisingly welcome!

Pathetic cowards like the ones abusing Ingram should be made an example of. Crack down hard and ruin their lives and see how many of those twats have the balls to say any racist thing online anymore.

I'm sure they're not really racists, it's just that the woke oppression is making them fight back in any way they can, like bravely abusing a black actress.

it's coming from a group of individuals who are anti Disney woke.

They are complaining that the show is about Obi Wan & Disney have used it to focus on a female character etc etc

It's just utter crap & disgraceful.

If there was a scale to measure how much of a loser you are then being an adult who racially abuses people online because they think wokeness is ruining Star Wars would be right near the top. It's a perfect combination of being a racist, being an idiot, being a nerd and being a man-child.

Episode 3 was amazing. Arguably true best piece of Star Wars content Disney have done.

Watched a bit of this ‘cos a Star Wars fan is staying with us… everyone is absolutely terrible in it. The idea Moses Ingram is uniquely bad is some impressive reaching… if anything she’s on the better side. Ewan is significantly dodgier for some reason. And I like Ewan. Everyone is acting like it’s some kind of weird panto read-through… Which it is, I guess.

Also it looks terrible. Not prequel terrible, but visually very bland. Like when Dr Who used to shoot all its big scenes in a quarry. Also James Earl Jones sounds bad.

Anyway. Star Wars fans are absolutely awful. I hope all their willies fall off.

Some parts looked like a fan film. Really want to like it, but almost everything on the mining planet looked terrible or not well directed.

You say this about JEJ and yet everyone all over the net and Star Wars community is absolutely praising how Vader sounds - more ESB in tone.

Also, Whilst it is JEJ, it is also AI doing the voice which makes it impressive, most impressive.

The dark side I sense in you.

Yeah but ‘the Star Wars community’ will praise anything even vaguely nostalgic… unless it’s a woman.

Moses Ingram is actually doing very well, Episode 3 I have grown to her character even more (after the first two episodes I wasn't sure). Racist abuse is just disgusting and I can't believe people resort to that. They're just the lowest of us.

Episode 3 was absolutely amazing, this is by far the best Star Wars content in years, even better than The Mandalorian.

The Vader vs Kenobi really highlighted how weak Kenobi is right now, he needs to go through a montage to get back his strength and save Leia then kick Darth Vader's arse. We recall from A New Hope Vader tells him that he was but the learner when they last met, maybe we'll see Kenobi show him who the real king is.

That scene when Vader pulls him through the fire, the visuals

10/10 episode

Think char development will lead to change of perception when it comes to Reva. MI doing fine job in, its looks OTT right now but character story might explain why she is like that. Now when it comes to MI outside Star Wars, those racists pricks can feck them self, even i believe there are levels to it, racists fecks being the worst but everyone being painted with same brush is dumb, there are non racists criticts out there too, which is extra fueled by that interview.

Edit: Overall great episode.

Great episode. Reeva is growing on me, even her acting seemed a bit better although the male inquisitor is still just as bad as he was.

I thought Vader sounded great tbf. Far better than in Rogue One.

As a standalone episode, that was amazing. However, I would’ve preferred had they not crossed paths until ANH, although it was expected as soon as KK announced the show.

Was not expecting Disney+ to show Vader casually force snapping necks. Hopefully it suggests they’ll eventually give him his own show and explore some of the darker SW stuff.

Reva being able to teleport to the other side of the tunnel was quite nifty.

Anyone who knows Rebels, knows who will survive this series and those who won't.

I feel we are gonna see a lot more of bad ass Vader before this ends.

Was that James Earl Jones or have they used some other way of replicating his voice? He sounded far better than he did in Rogue One and younger.
