Some people need to realise that £4m doesn't mean we've saved £4. There's a whole six zeroes that come after the first number, and even for a premier League club that's not just pocket change.

Based on this and the £69m I take this to be:

€65m (£56m) plus €15m (£13m), for a total potential deal of €80m (£69m). This sounds relatively fair. I assume most of the €15m will be achievable, but hopefully at least some based on performance/ trophies.

The only downside is that whilst that cost might be reasonable the salary will also be huge so total deal cost is still beyond what most other clubs in world football would pay.

And we could never dream of selling a player for that kind of package

Important along with Van de Beek coming back too. I could see a midfield 3 of those two and Bruno working well - obviously no wholly defensive minded mid in there but they all work hard and track back. And Frenkie is a great holding mid.
The important part is a quick defender alongside Varane so we can push up. Lindelof will do a job, not the quickest, but his distribution further up is very good so starts to act more like the DM. Varane as the deeper defender is quick enough to mop up, but still need another option ideally.

Maguire should be sold for whatever we can get. Has no place in our go forward plan. Should have some value to teams like Everton. £40m shouldn't be unreasonable an ask with his wages considered.

Romano reported the latest offer as being €65m guaranteed (before add-ons), not €65m in total (which was the £56m first offer that Barcelona rejected).
As I take it the first offer stands, but we've added a sweetener in add ons.

If someone told you this time last year that we’d sign Varane Sancho and FDJ in the next 12 months we’d all have been delighted. Let’s hope it all starts clicking because we do have some very very good players
And Ronaldo!

I don’t think Donny is up to it anyway but those three would lead us back to the usual hapless reverses vs Brighton and their like.

Nearly there, man. A central midfielder who can actually play with the football. I used to pray for times like this

Really pleased we've brought in a quality midfielder and more importantly Ten Hag's primary target.

Not getting my hopes up yet, I’ll wait until it’s reported done by multiple reliable jorno’s .
It’s looking promising though, he’ll help change the way we play which is the most exciting thing to me , I can’t bare another season like last year.

I'm sticking to it. By the time he's done here he will go down as one of our best central midfield players ever. In the same tier as Charlton, Robson, Keane, Scholes.

All those claiming it's just 4m.... As though 4m is pocket change. Also if the amount we have agreed to pay nobody knows the ins and outs . We may have saved millions upfront and spread it. Club don't do it they're laughed at, they do they're laughed at..

Can't win.
