If he wants to leave the club, ok, I get it, I’m not totally against the idea of him leaving the club again. However we as a football club have got a transfer budget that we plan to spend on a certain selection of players, if Ronaldo goes then we must buy a centre forward to replace him and we just don’t have the money this season to continue our plans and then buy an adequate replacement on top of that. That means that the funds raised from the sale of Ronaldo must contribute majorly to the acquisition of the striker which will probably be a lot, which then begs the question, which club has the money and desire to sign him from us?
We need to develop some financial levers.

This was inevitable when the club failed to qualify for the Champions League - he wants to win silverware and we haven't really been relevant for nearly 10 years. In a way, I'm surprised that it has taken this long for the stories to emerge.

The problem we will have is finding a buyer who is willing to pay the money it would cost to get him - there are only a few clubs in the world who would be willing to part with the wages necessary. If he does indeed go, you'd think that Chelsea, PSG, Juve and Bayern would be the most likely destinations.

It’s weird how this happened with both us and Juventus, but it absolutely isn’t his fault everybody else stopped scoring. Nope. Total coincidence.

Talk about us “not deserving Ronaldo” is hilarious. He can go feck himself, just as he always should.
Juventus really played that free flowing football without him last year.

I wasn't happy with Ronaldo during the previous season. This is good news. We can get an alternative striker.

Mason, Martial, Rashford, Cavani
And Bruno. 3 are still at the club. I'm sure our 80 mill signing last season can chip in with Masons total.

Madrid have also struggled for goals since Ronaldo's left haven't they ? I'm sure it's just a coincidence that a certain unrated number 9 that Ronaldo carried had the seasons of his life when Ronaldo left?
I'm sure Madrid will be doing everything in their power to bring him back to lead the line.

This forum has more Ronaldo fans than United fans.

We survived without him when he left in his prime we sure as hell will survive without this washed up version.

He was never going to play in the Europa League even at 37. Still a legend and I don’t mind him leaving as long as it’s not to another PL club that simply cannot happen. Hope the board are willing to provide extra funds to sign a striker replacement otherwise we’re fecked.

Folks saying this is positive...

It's only positive if we have a realistic incoming replacement.

Who is it?

If you look around Europe there's a ridiculous shortage of suitable forwards for us to take.

Honestly what CL club has a chance

Real /PSG / Chelsea would move for him thats it.

And even then I am unsure on the foreign ones. Really hope Chelsea dont make a move, and hope he isnt selfish enough to consider them.

We signed a striker on deadline day last season that wasn’t suitable too, so nothing new there

There's no way United sell him to Chelsea. No way. The reputational damage would be awful.

And Juventus?

Why do people keep saying Juventus? He caused a lot of issues and left them hung to dry. They tried to shift him TWICE.

Bayern, Milan or PSG.

I don't think Bayern go for him, personally. PSG? Mbappe would love it, Messi and Neymar? Not so much + would take them a step back. It's Milan for me.

That's not really the point... we would need more than just Rashford and Martial. Antony is not enough either.

We'd need a proper CF.

The options are very limited.

Why didn't he fecking say this in May the wanker
I was just thinking the same.

Does loyalty even exist the game anymore??

The more I think about it the better I feel if he left as it eliminates a potential problem for the new manager feeling pressured to play someone who is too old or unsuited to his style of play.

This pre-season is already beginning to feel like a bonfire of the vanities. Maybe it really is best to burn it all down and rebuild from the ashes.

It's a bit of a kick in the teeth for you when two of the hottest forward prospects have gone to your two biggest rivals this summer.

If Milan have sense they won't touch him.

Players who don't buy in should leave, and when they do its positive.

Was great to see him back in his colours and shirt. But unfortunately we do not deserve him the way the club is at the moment. And he does not have the time to waste on a building season you buy him to win. End of
Behave. This cult-like following is absurd. United are bigger than this guy and always will be. We've had players just as big and just as good as this guy play for this club. He'll leave, and we'll move on. Simpe as that.

We have two issues:
Finding a buyer and ,more importantly, finding someone capable of replacing his goals.

This is really terrible, we needed one or even two forwards before this news, absolutely leaves us up shit creek.

Wouldn’t be surprised if De Jong has second thoughts now as well.

Madrid didn't want the 5 years ago version of Ronaldo you must be on something special if you think they'll go anywhere near this version.
