This reads like you're determined not to be happy. Surely that can be said of literally any player we sign?
At least we are allowed to scream "SUCCESS" after kick-off in the first game of the season :)

Would be a hilariously poor transfer for Chelsea, seems like they have their own Woodward at the helm.

Not at all, but we've been here before. I like the signings, absolutely, but managing expectations will be important
But you can't conflate issues; getting them through the door is the first step, but you're laying that low - give them a chance! :D

£80 m for Maguire could always backfire - or £70 million for Sancho.

There is no way in hell £13 million for these 2 will backfire. I am not saying Malacia will be a success - but Eriksen doesn't turn crap overnight.

Why does Ronaldo want to win the CL anyway, he’s won the thing 6 times as it is.

With how it’s gone for him with us this past year, to then go to Chelsea, it would pretty much be as bad as him going to City last summer for me.
I just can’t see us selling to a PL rival having already missed out on CL. Would be stupid from our perspective, if we’re selling him then we should tell him to go abroad. I think he’d be a poor signing for Chelsea but he guarantees goals which would help them in the race for too 4 next year.

Ronaldo doesn't seem like a very Tuchel transfer tbh. He generally does insist on all his frontline pressing. Sterling makes perfect sense, but I do wonder if Ronaldo would be his choice or the owners. If it's his, he probably thinks he can get away with 1 passenger in the team as long as the rest press in a coordinated manner. If it's the Board going rogue for commercial reasons that's unlikely to go well.

Where the grass is greener.
I’d be very very surprised if we allowed him to go to Chelsea. He’d have to put up an unholy fuss and Ten Hag would need to really be desperate to see him gone for it to happen.

Don’t agree. Don’t see Bayern taking him and Chelsea’s new American owners will be seduced by the money.
You do realise we have a say where he goes? He’s under contract at the club. He’ll have to leave on our terms and the club aren’t selling to a rival. When have we ever done that?

He is not going to Chelsea. Tuchel won't approve and we won't let him go to a rival. It's a no-go. He will go to Bayern or take a massive pay cut and go back to Sporting. Or stay here.

I think some people are forgetting he’s under contract. United still have some control over this and if we’re going to let him leave it will be under our own terms.
We won’t keep an unhappy player and leave it for ETH to deal with. He’s got enough shit to take care of. Pretty sure he won’t stand for it and will also want him gone.

Do you think he really strengthens them if firstly he doesn’t really fit their style and secondly all the baggage that goes with him?

I am not saying it won’t happen. I just dont think it is a good fit for what Tuchel wants as far as counter pressing. I personally like CR7 and think he has more to give. CR7 Chelsea Kit would be a purchase I will make, if it happened.

If he wants to win the CL, it's not going to be with Chelsea. Maybe Bayern, but they couldn't do it with Lewy, so I don't think Ronaldo would be the difference.

We all love United
Why not we won’t sell him to a rival? It’s Chelsea, not City nor the dippers. As long as he communicates directly that he wants a move to Chelsea, the club will respect his wishes and let him go. United for some reason feels it owes Ronaldo a lot

Remember when Fergie said he’d never sell anyone to Madrid publicly.
If you think the club are suddenly going to do something it’s never done before and let a cash cow and club legend go to a PL rival then fair enough.

I can’t see it happening though and the club has enough power in the deal to make sure it doesn’t. It’s not a free transfer.

The Glazers only care about the bottom line.
