Humble Barca fan:

Beautiful that despite all our financial woes we are still having a transfer window 100x better than Manchester United. And their star signing for the summer, still wants to stay here and not join their Europa League caliber club.

What a loser club .

Can't blame FDJ though. I mean who would want to join a has-been club who hasn't wont a league title in 10 years...soon to be more than 10 years lolll.

Not to mention whose greatest player of all time is currently boycotting the club and not wanting to be associated with these Europa League specialists.

Trash bin club.

How the feck are Barca buying all these players? They've gone full muppet this window.
I am wondering why players go there when they know they might not get paid.
Sure they're not going to starve, and it's historically a great club, but still… how much do they owe Pique? £50 million?

Barca are so disrespectful to the players who helped them tide over the covid 19 period. It's not their fault that Bartomeu was giving away free money. Most have even taken a pay cut of some sort.

Don't hold your breath on this one. Best to go on a summer holiday and check back into this thread at the end of the month.

Yeah this will go silent until early August now, have to focus on enjoying the Martinez & Eriksen signings until then

Well that’s the bizarre point. They accepted the deal, publicly want to throw him out and yet he’s still going on tour.

It’s all about paying him the money owed apparently but then if he goes on tour that’s at least 3 more weeks salary costing them a further million quid…..nothing makes sense.
Yeah usually if a deal is accepted then the selling club pull that player out of next matchday squad/tour to protect from injury.

I will bet my left nut this fecker doesn’t sign for Man United. I’m as certain of this as 95% of you are certain that he will sign.

Don’t know why exactly, just feel it in my bones. Of course I’m going to look like a prick if he does sign and my right nut will be very lonely but I’m sticking with it.

Most loathsome and self-entitled/self-aggrandizing fanbase on the planet and it's not even close. Real fans are something and so are the Scousers but cules are a special breed of noxious cnuts ever since the Uefalona days. They masquerade as some holier than thou sacred institution while being even more corrupt and morally bankrupt than the fecking oil sugar daddy clubs.

Deceitful club and cretinous fanbase

Yeah I don't get the feeling this is as nailed on as many claim. Getting serious PTSD flashbacks to the Sneijder and Fabregas sagas.

What do you think Mazhar, is Rob being speculative here?

Because Chelsea are well stocked in Midfield and are prioritizing defence (Koulibaly, Kimpepe, Ake, Kounde ??) and they also need to replace Lukaku and get a CF/Striker.

PSG got Veratti, who is a DLP, similar to De Jong, PSG just signed Vitinha, and might need a pure DM that would fit with Veratti+Vitinha, unless the new coach will play a 343 formation, and in that case they would not need someone like De Jong.
I think he's probably got the additional information via Samuel Marsden and MoisESPN who cover Barcelona for the same outlet Dawson works for.
As Adnan stated here, the info is likely to be coming from Llorens and Marsden. I'm not surprised by this, though; we know well enough that Frenkie prefers to play for a Champions League club if he can't play for Barcelona, though that doesn't necessarily rule us out.

It's a weird one. Logic suggests they have to sell him even if it means caving in and paying him his deferred salary. Logic suggests he would leave in that situation. But none of us is expert enough to know that for sure. They seem to be playing chicken with each other so it could just end in a huge car crash.

Yeah, they're pretty much sh*tting on him and I wouldn't consider leaving without 100% of what I'm owed if I were him.
It'd be different if they were headed into default (is administration the UK equivalent?) or something. But they just bought €100 m worth of players as they're telling him to go. Absolute kick in the teeth.

I think this is happening guys. Up until Riggs and Murtough blazed into Barcelona, Barca couldn’t register any of the players they had agreements with. Now they are all but announcing lewa and b. silva looks done too. The lever situation tells us that shouldn’t be possible until at least the second lever is pulled.
Rich is there to ‘sign the deal’ why else is he going to go over there? Where did he go after? To finish Martinez deal.
Once second lever is activated Barca have the funds to invest in new players but are hamstrung by the salary cap still… unless the FDJ deal is completed already and Barca are just waiting for the lever so the can use all those proceeds from us to fund these new players.
We know we have changed the structure of the deal to more upfront cash which has to be for helping them to pay off Frenkie.

These stories that Frenkie doesn’t want to come here could all just be stemming from the story his agent has been telling Barca for the last few weeks that he wants to stay (for the deferred salary). Barca are so prideful they have to spin the story in their way even though the whole world knows they are broke and maybe we told Frenkie to relax :)

For once in his life, speaking the truth
so they are broke as fuk and won't pay the dude his back wages but will spend 100m on Lewandowski and Raphinha....no wonder Frenkie is telling them to piss off and pay him

i'm full muppet on this one now, i think it will happen in this window, given up trying to suggest a time frame. However has anyone else got that little devil on their shoulders wondering how glorious the protests and meltdown by Barca fans will be if he doesn't leave and they can't register their players? I mean if we did miss out on him, at least we could sit back and watch laporta get chased down the street

The number of players Barca think they are signing....i've seen crack addicts with more self discipline.

If Frenkie stays does that break Barca? Relegate them or what? Hate to admit, I'd be okay waiting to try and sign him if that's the case that there's some serious repercussion to it.

supposedly wont be able to register new players, but it's barca so they will probably get some special exemption. like when la liga let them buy a player after the window closed.

Don't think they can get relegated. As far as I understand they won't be able to register new players. Hence all the new players they are signing will ineligible to play in La Liga as long as he stays. If I was him I'd stay put until they've paid everything that they owe him.

No don't think so, thats why they let Messi go. Signing Braithwaithe was within the rules as they had several injured players. Doubt they will get off the hook here. They still have enough registered players to field a team.

They can register them once their next financial transaction goes through.

Barcelona's position on Frenkie is that he's simply not worth the money he's on and is their most saleable asset.

They're selling him because they want to. Not because they are forced to,

We should have moved on so long ago. I don't care what the supposedly more patient posters think, it is honestly quite sad that we are willing to jeopardize our season on a player who is praying he doesn't have to come here. The money we are willing to spend on him would have gotten us a couple of players who would fight for the team and manager, while being an improvement to mcfred (which we all know isn't hard). I'm still hopeful of what ETH can do for us, but this obsession is got him starting off by leaving a bit of a sour taste.

But we'll see how it goes, at this point I really can't see him coming to United. Barca are not desperate and he has all the cards in his hands...

I mean, strictly speaking he is spitting facts aside of the 100x better transfer window thing.

We ARE a europa league caliber club right now, de Jong is this summer’s big transfer target for us and obviously DOES prefer to stay at Barca in his version of a perfect world, Ronaldo did boycott us by telling us he wants out and not join our preseason due to ‘family issues’ and we haven’t won the league for a decade.

This is the non apologetic version of BBC calling a spade a spade.

What will it take for him to see this isn't the same club he dreamed about playing for but a financial shitshow

Share exactly these worries but certainly don't see Erik willing to give up on his top target, god knows how far Utd are willing to wait it out for him.
