Another one bites the dust. Ding ding. Not many competitors left seeking the ultimate levelPretty much this. Find an alternative. He's not the only midfielder in the world ffs.

A third lever?! Ffs. They won’t be obliged to sell, but they still need him to forego wages and agree to the new structure…It may be 4/8 now actually…I’ve tried to forget last season
I’m not worried about Chelsea at all. The biggest risk to this deal is him staying at Barcelona.

Romano (never wrong) confirmed the interest. They aren't pursuing him because they know he only has his heart set on one club.Chelsea are not actively pursuing him. It is either Barca or the Spanish media creating that narrative.
Haha I love it... they're going to be absolutely screwed soon. Roll on next year and everyone will be expected to take another pay cut to prove their loyalty to BarcelonaA third pay day loan
Soon they’ll own nothing.
Maybe so but he still destroys their wage structure and leaves them in the crap. I'm pretty sure it's not a predicament that they want to be in to be honest. Wonder if this has been leaked to put more pressure on United to cough upDo we want Barca to have another loan or not? Surely another loan means they can afford to pay off de Jong, but also could mean they can afford to keep him?
I feel sorry for the next president when Laporta leaves him a note saying:Haha I love it... they're going to be absolutely screwed soon. Roll on next year and everyone will be expected to take another pay cut to prove their loyalty to Barcelona
orI'm afraid to tell you there's no money left
Maybe this is how he stays president for life? No fecker in their right mind would wanna do it after him.Good luck, old cock ... Sorry to leave it in such a mess.
So far that one club is BarcaRomano (never wrong) confirmed the interest. They aren't pursuing him because they know he only has his heart set on one club.
Loads of our most successful players in history fall under that umbrellaI lost interest in this deal a long time ago. It's a tricky situation for FDJ and there isn't any value in bringing a player who doesn't have his heart fully at United. I suspect if the issue of deferred payments weren't such a sticking point, he'd have several more offers and would probably pick a club in the CL.
Of course this is already happening. It’s daft to suggest it isn’t.We should start using the players we have and re-training them to play in ETH's tactical set-up
Didn’t he confirm Malacia had signed for Lyon like 3 weeks ago

Don’t forget his Ronaldo loves the club and is staying bullshit days before it broke Mendes was whoring him across Europe.Didn’t he confirm Malacia had signed for Lyon like 3 weeks ago
That third lever will mean that Barcelona will make only 51% off of their merchandising and licensing. If they do choose to go in that direction, then they'll potentially lose out on lots of revenue. They won't want to go there unless they have absolutely no other option. It may be 4/8 now actually…I’ve tried to forget last season

Every year, every manager eggs in 1 basket. This time around no one can accuse the board of not trying their best to get the managers 1st choice. It's time to move on.Pretty much this. Find an alternative. He's not the only midfielder in the world ffs.
Yeah but who cares about that when they can get Messi and Neymar back now. That third lever will mean that Barcelona will make only 51% off of their merchandising and licensing.
It’s clearly not.Every year, every manager eggs in 1 basket. This time around no one can accuse the board of not trying their best to get the managers 1st choice. It's time to move on.
That would be my guess too. Another roll of the dice by Barca to try and panic us into helping them out of their mess. I think United know exactly where they stand in all this... I can't see us picking up the bill in the form of a massive signing on fee or something though. Barca have to cave at some point for it to happen.Maybe so but he still destroys their wage structure and leaves them in the crap. I'm pretty sure it's not a predicament that they want to be in to be honest. Wonder if this has been leaked to put more pressure on United to cough up
Clearly?It’s clearly not.
The amount of non-sequiturs in this post is fantastic."it's time to move on"….....to fecking who? How many reports do people have to read that clearly highlight we are working off ETHs list, there are no other options on that list and he refuses to waste money on mediocre upgrades?
He doesn't want to just buy a player because it's a shiny new toy. He obviously sees one player as the ultimate Upgrade and would rather risk improving the stock we have over wasted money.
This. The only way Frenkie will stay is if he accepts lower terms that are in line with Barcelona's new wage structure. He doesn't have the goodwill that the likes of Busquets and Piqué have, so there's no way that he'll be allowed to earn that extra money down the line.No matter how many ‘levers’ Barca activate.. they’re not going to let Frenkie stay unless he complies with their new wage structure. As it’s always been, he either takes a pay cut and stays, or he comes here
But surely all he has to say is, “Erik, I want to stay at Barca.” and it would be an end to it.It may be 4/8 now actually…I’ve tried to forget last season

Perhaps because the player has indicated that to his old coach? Or why would his old coach persist in trying to sign a player who has given a definite no?I don’t see why it is so clear that ETH would be a super magnet of attraction for de Jong. With all respect for our new manager, but de Jong left Ajax and ETH to move to the next level. Maybe we are exaggerating how attractive de Jong thinks it would be to reunite with his old coach?
If Barca are happy to keep him, I wouldn't be surprised if he was very quick to communicate that to ETH.But surely all he has to say is, “Erik, I want to stay at Barca.” and it would be an end to it.
I guess not if he believes Barca wish to keep and play him. They signed Raphinha, Kessie, Christensen and Lewandowski. There is no way in hell they can claim not to have the money to pay him. If they don't that means they're going into administration and again, since they're not respecting the contract, he can break it and sign for someone else on a free. The only reason he should even consider doing what you say is if he believed the club was about to go bankrupt. A club that is about to go bankrupt does not do what barcelona are doing. So no, it does not make any sense for him.
Timber obviously didn't think reuniting with ETH would be a dream come true either, did he.I don’t see why it is so clear that ETH would be a super magnet of attraction for de Jong. With all respect for our new manager, but de Jong left Ajax and ETH to move to the next level. Maybe we are exaggerating how attractive de Jong thinks it would be to reunite with his old coach?
This is it, isn’t it? They were happy to ship him out when they were in the clarts. Plus, what would his playing time be now? If Barca are happy to keep him, and have told him, why hasn’t he already informed ten Hag?If Barca are happy to keep him, I wouldn't be surprised if he was very quick to communicate that to ETH.
That's my understanding as well. It's not that Barcelona don't have the money to buy players, it's that they can't register these players til they reduce their wage bill. Plus Laporta wants the highest player to be on 9m a year, which is half what de Jong is on. So unless he is willing to cut his salary by half Barcelona can't afford to keep him.No matter how many ‘levers’ Barca activate.. they’re not going to let Frenkie stay unless he complies with their new wage structure. As it’s always been, he either takes a pay cut and stays, or he comes here
