what are you talking about?
Messi is even more popular on this United forum than Ronaldo and that's before his pre-season antics, imagine the situation for other teams' neutral fans... and how everybody views Ronaldo now, the guy became the laughing stock of the football world, managed it all by himself thanks to his narcissism..

Former real United legends like Rooney, Giggs and Scholes explained their views clearly. Yeah, Ronaldo definitely has more admired career jump-shipping two years in a row now like a true leader and being whored around Europe just like last year & getting rejected left-right with no major award in years now. He definitely showed he is an ideal team player that put his team's interests over his own stats, last time I checked he was trying to make a move to Atletico even lowering his salary to switch from United, the club that made him for a so-called new "challenge", so noble:lol:

Messi and Ronaldo cannot be substituted one to one (as you always desperately attempt to suggest) as Ronaldo lacks top level technique, playmaking, passing, dribbling skills unlike Messi. Both are top goal scorers, that's the only are where they have similarities. Trophies, individual awards wise, Ronaldo is well behind as well.. No wonder Ronaldo's most passionate fans on this forum are Portuguese, I am not even an Argentine just like most Messi fans on this forum..

This is my final post about both players on this thread..
Messi embarrassed himself horrendously when he retired from his country when being the reason they lost.

"lacks top level technique, dribbling and passing"

Jesus Christ do you just make things up as you go or is your head shoved that far up Messis Arse. He does not even need a prostate exam with you around, my word.

Christ, this has slowly descended into a Ronaldo vs Messi thread again.
Well when you have a guy who comments on every single Ronaldo thread in a very strange way even though he hates him its no wonder.

Saying Ronaldo looks technical ability and dribbling is a fact? Things are not facts because you say they are.

When did you start watching football?

Like I've said before your posts are absolutely shocking on a consistent basis. I haven't seen a newly promoted poster at this level in a long time. You are religiously commenting on every Ronaldo thread or Ronaldo V Messi thread like it is your job to let everyone know you don't like Ronaldo and Messi is better.

Yes, at the top level, there are tons of players with better technique, passing, playmaking and dribbling skills which is factos..

For you, definitely, not surprised

you do the same, just replace Messi with Ronaldo, not that it bothers me unlike it bothers you..

Buddy, just stick to your previous post and stop derailing thread.. I do not want to post anymore on this as other posters understandably do not want to see this thread to turn into another comparison one..

sure  care to post a reference to this BS percentage?

Messi doesn't give a feck about social media, doesn't even have a twitter. Imagine thinking social follower count is what determines the legacy of a player.

Paul Scholes:
"Ronaldo is sensational at what he does, with pace and power. He scores, he takes free-kicks. But as an all-round footballer, Messi - wow, his passing - he has absolutely everything."
Dimitar Berbatov:
"They can have similarities in their technical skills and talent, and it is hallucinating for football to have them both present, but Messi is simply the best player in the world. He [Messi] is alone in his class as a player, it is impossible that there is another like him.”
Wayne Rooney:
"I think I've said this before, but they're both probably the best two players to ever play the game. I just think Messi is, in my eyes, the greatest ever."
Ryan Giggs:
"Obviously I lean towards Ronaldo a little bit because I played with him and saw him develop as a player. But Messi is a genius, he's a once in a lifetime player. It's as simple as that."

https://tribuna.com/en/news/fcbarce...eammates-who-name-leo-messi-as-the-real-goat/

Paul Scholes:
"I think about the great players with whom I have shared a pitch: Eric Cantona, Zinedine Zidane, Pirlo, Xavi, Ronaldo and the greatest of them all is Messi."

https://bleacherreport.com/articles...r-lionel-messi-as-the-greatest-of-them-all-UK
Yeah, amongst his peers most prefer Messi to Ronaldo by quite a margin. Ronaldo definitely markets himself better no denying that, but even Ronaldo’s own teammates choose Messi significantly more than Messi’s teammates pick Ronaldo.

But anyways, let’s move on, this isn’t the thread for this.

As for Ronaldo, it’s shocking how rough things have been after Madrid. Juventus fans have soured on him and I’m sure once he scores goals again United fans will forgive him but he’s been taking a huge hit lately and it seems like the football world has moved on without him. It’s sad to see how much he’s struggling to find another team. If he was willing to sign somewhere for half the wages perhaps that may open more options up for him. He’s been getting humbled this summer but he deserves a better ending than this.

Please stop embarrassing yourself. Goodnight.

It's hillarious watching how emotionally upset they seem to get everytime someone dares say something negative about Ronaldo or anyone praises the other guy:lol:

Sainz is a journo that's said to be close to Ronaldo and Mendes.

"Cristiano will exercise at Carrington on Tuesday while waiting for Atletico Madrid."
Let him rather serve tea or mow the pitch.

I can't see why Atlético would want him, but it's his last hope after getting rejected by every one else that he's thrown himself at.
Let him rather serve tea or mow the pitch.
Have him carry the starters' bags:D

Wow! I think you need some counselling man. Heck I need to quickly get that image out of my head else if and when I see Ronaldo playing for United again i'll need counselling.

FYI The amount of posts I see getting warnings and this abomination sails through clean as a whistle. Amazing!
Report the post then.

Didn't Simeone throw a wobbler recently and substituted Felix immediately for not making a defensive run which eventually led to an opposition goal?

Playing as a CF for Cholos Madrid has to be one of the most thankless tasks in football and I'm surprised either party are interested in the other at this point.

You can keep your own opinion here but the best new generations (ie Mbappe, Haaland) do admire Ronaldo more.

I haven't seen a reliable source that shows that Atlético are interested (probably for the same reasons you mentioned. He doesn't suit their style of play).

Their number 9s regularly track back to the half way line and press. Those aren't Ronaldo's strengths.

How do you know Haaland admires CR7 more?

Haaland just recently (ok january 2022) picked Messi as the top 3 players in the world and left CR7 out. Google it

Yeah, if we don’t ban the Messi vs Ronaldo drivel from this thread, it could well do.

Posters indulging in the inane back and forth, please keep it out of this thread.

This is the hilarious thing with this link.

He did admire Ronaldo more if you look deeper into it. It’s common knowledge. He used to idolized Ronaldo in his youth, he said something along the lines that Ronaldo inspire him most as footballer, on several occasions.

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/f...-Haaland-reveals-Cristiano-Ronaldo-model.html
Yet the latest we got is that CR7 is not even in his top 3. There is a difference between who is an inspiration in his youth and who he admires more now.

There are posters who signed up on caf, puts some random club in their support field and only thing they do is involve in Messi vs Ronaldo drivel. It's not surprising they bring this Messi vs Ronaldo shit in every Ronaldo or Messi thread.

Anyways looks like Mendes journalists are reporting Atletico story, after getting rejected from all clubs, that's his only hope. I hope we sign couple of attackers as we have only 4 senior attackers, will be down to 3 now.

Every great athlete needs to see the sun setting on him/her, even GOAT candidates like Ronaldo. Been seeing in this thread references to Michael Jordan and even he was humbled and taken to the cleaners on various occasions by the young guns coming up during his ill fated stint as a Washington Wizard. In my view he has fully deserved this humbling because he and his agent sorely miscalculated the market. He has lost a lot of the United fan support and knows it. He knows and the club knows that despite the official line, had a decent club come in with a good price for him, United would have let him go. Now he has little leverage with ETH. For someone who is so egotistical and brand conscious, he will need to rebuild that image, meaning he should be well behaved and hope for another opportunity materialising in January.

All focus should be on a new, exciting era under the leadership of a highly rated coach, as well as moving on from the disaster that was Woodward, as well as making some important changes structurally. Basically there's a lot to be positive about. Instead this narcissistic clown will overshadow it all.
Genuinely can't wait until Ronaldo and his insufferable fan club are long gone.

Can’t have it permeating and infesting threads outside the accepted battleground (Its thread in the football forum) where they can argue amongst themselves to infinity, but clogging up other threads with it is not on.

I think there will be a [very] late scramble for him at an extremely reduced rate at the end of the window if he is that intent on leaving. It’s in no potential suitors interest to buy him now, in July, when patience on their end leads to desperation on Ronaldo’s camps’ end. Drop in an offer at the end of the window that is currently perceived as derisory for one so great, and there’s potential for them to fold and accept.

Ronaldo is more likely not caring about the money in wages per se, but rather in the ‘I am an elite player, so this should be my banding’ prideful way, so we’ll see if he’ll swallow that pride when push comes to shove and he’s got CL clubs offering him a relative take it or leave it pittance.

Ronaldo will probably not be first choice at United, at least not in the start. He is gambling hard to get his move and it’s not looking good for him.
