So he wants a free transfer? I guess he assumes he'll look more attractive to certain clubs if there's no transfer fee involved...

...I assume he's going to waive his signing on fee then? Cos if not I am not sure how much more attractive Ronaldo will look as a free agent compared to now.

Thing is there weren't lot of strikers available . Haaland and Jesus won't join us. Nunez was never a realistic target for us . Rest all meh options.
Its definitely a tough striker market, especially at the top end, but there are some interesting young strikers who have moved clubs like Ekitike, Hlosek, Adeyemi, and Scamacca that you might have competed for if you went into the summer knowing you needed to add one and you could credibly promise them playing time with the first team.

What a shitshow he is. Cut the contract up. let him go. See who takes him on and how he fecks that club up. He's not that useful anymore and thinks he needs the club built around him still. Scared shitless od a proper manager benching him and being surplus to requirements.

I’m sure Utd would let him buy out his contract then he can go wherever he wants. The guy has picked up over a million while refusing to train/go on tour.

Utd are acting like Ronaldo is bigger than the club itself

They do play dirty but all the players play for the team with humility rather than for their personal glory. I'm
They’re one of the most ungracious teams in defeat. They represent anything but humility. Look at the antics they pull whenever they’re trailing or narrowly winning a game. Their fans have always been deluded anyway. Living in the shadow of Real Madrid does that I guess.

The problem with keeping him at this point is the inevitable circus that'll surround him if he, as expected, does not start games on a regular basis and the results go awry. Just release him. He can go join Liverpool or City for all I care. Would cement the status of his ruined legacy with us.

Basically wants to have his cake and eat it

We've already bent our backs backwards for him plenty of times, would be embarrassing letting him call the shots after quitting on us for the 2nd time.

feck that, he can leave once a club ponies up funds for him. If not then he can stay and rot on the bench or reserves for all we care if he's that hellbent on not playing for us again

This is going to end up with him at Chelsea, isn't it. United would never accept a bid from a prem team, and no other club in Europe would be stupid enough to sign him, so releasing him frees up that premier league option.

Just get rid of him.

He's the self-absorbed athlete of all-time.

Good riddance to him and his legion of fans.

I have no idea either, yet.

So by not selling a player nobody wants to pay for, we're acting like said player is bigger than the club?
Then there's how does anyone know if he's asked to buy out his contract or not?

Makes sense that he wants to be a free agent. He will take a massive paycut just to play for a good side that's in the CL. This has been a disaster for Ronaldo and Mendes.

Our season hinges on him leaving. If he stays we’ll be shambles again.

Let him go. Reinvest the wages. He came back and it didn’t work. Shit happens.

People want for us to put the foot down however if he refuses to play we are stuck with very expensive placeholder on the bench.

Christ the nerve on this fecker. Why hasn’t he been fined by now for missing the entire pre season?
Why is the club paying him astronomica wages for him to wank himself daily for his weird Instagram for months

Anyone still thinks that toolbag is a club legend needs have their priorities sorted, its completely distasteful and disrespectful towards the real legends who played for this club.

Send that clown to rot in the reserves for the year if no one is willing to pay his transfer fee, it will be worth it.

I think so. The new Chelsea owner seems to be a fan and maybe have a deal with Ronaldo ready.

Forget that option then. Do not want him going there and giving them a striker, were competing with them for top 4.

I would be fine with him paying us the fee we paid Juve for him and the n he can be a free agent and go and join whichever club he wants.
