These latest reports look bad. Its not worth rushing back for the WC if true.

I am sure he will be able to play in 4 years he will only be 33 which is completely fine for a midfielder especially in international footballer which is a lot slower.

Out of curiosity I wonder if he is out who they are going to play in midfield? Guendouzi?
By that time, other midfielders would have likely taken his place

This deal might end up having grave consequences for Juve's finances. Pogba is a marquee signing on wages but if he isn't fit then they need to bring in cover which costs even more.

I can really see Pogba retiring in his early 30s.

Imagine in an alternate universe we’d signed him to the bananas deal we were supposedly cooking up under Ole? It’s literally the exact same boom bust cycle as his time here. Hype at him signing and now supposedly more committed than ever - one of the most expensive and overhyped players in the world - gets injured - comes back and looks leggy and quite poor - eventually gets fit starts to look good - injured again for another few months and so on.. I’m glad we decided to look elsewhere. 6 years was long enough.
That's a bit racist.

No wonder he couldn't wait to get out of the club.

I'm under impression he's much more injury prone than many, including Pogba himself, would like to admit. Found it a bit unfair when he was consistently accused of faking his injuries - looks like he's royally fecked for another half a year and this time you really just can't say "oh he doesn't want to play so he fakes an injury".

Doesn't look like he'll start well in Juve, if he indeed misses the WC it's a big shame for him. Glad we were able to move on, unfortunate times for Paul.

I wanted Pogba out of United but was looking forward to seeing him in Serie A.

When I watched his documentary I wondered if his personal trainer in the States had any impact on his injuries. Not him as an individual, but wondered if he had any ongoing dialogue with the club about what fitness work that was being done by the club and whether it was monitored in anyway by both parties to ensure no overload, sharp changes in exercise type etc

I'm willing to make an exception. Hahaha.
You'd need to accept that his injuries are real to enjoy them, and I'm pretty sure you were among the people constantly doubting them in the past. Weird dissonance.

I'm not convinced he'd even have been all that better than at United. I remember when we signed him a couple of Juventus posters saying he plays in moments and doesn't really run or effect games, and I can't remember ever being that impressed watching him play for them. He had very good midfielders around him then but would still often be near anonymous. Same with France where aside from one world cup (which he was also pretty meh for the first half of) he's always been extremely hit and miss.

I think it's far more likely that the Man Utd Pogba of being occasionally brilliant but not worth all the nonsense and poor performances in between, is just Paul Pogba, as opposed to him magically being better in a different league or at a different club.

And yeah he's also reaching the Luis Saha tier of injury prone.

Plus although from Pogba's point of view i actually want him to do well, It is amusing that Juventus are already having to find a Pogba replacement when he basically hasn't even joined them yet.

Not sure making it in time for the WC is the right career move when injured seriously. Some players rushed back and shortened their careers at the top. He is injury prone anyway, this wont help.

Are you suggesting that he deserves to be injured?
I once witnessed Paul Pogba wearing a pair of light brown cowboy boots with tassels on them, you would wish an injury on anyone for that crime.

It's so strange, I bet without the circus ETH would have turned him into a quality player.

It's a shame for him really but his injury record was one of his biggest issues at United and already a factor back at Juve too.

He really wasn't accused of that until the Liverpool game where it genuinely looked like he just wanted to get outta there. That wasn't necessarily the case, but after the wildly unprofessional and disinterested behaviour he showed in recent years, you can't really blame people for suspecting it. There's also the fact that he had a habit of fecking off to Dubai or Miami when injured which, as I recall, caused a lot of problems for the club's medical staff. There were articles a year or two ago about how frustrated our physios were because he always went and got treatment in all kinds of places (incidentally always sunny, leisurely environs) which made it difficult for them to keep track of his condition and progress. It has been clear for a very long time that Pogba didn't give two shits about anyone but himself.

He just needs to look at Umtiti.

Having said that, this is probably his last big contract, and he is unlikely to make the next French world cup team if these injuries persist. I can definitely see him sacrificing his future career prospects for another world cup given this.

If he hadn't walked out on a free I might say we'd sold him at the right time... Out for three months last season, couple of months the season before, almost the entire season the year before that. Out now for a good chunk of another season. Basically one good season in the last 5, and he turns 30 this season. You do have to wonder how many good seasons he has left in him as a first teamer.

Not his biggest fan, far from it, but hope he recovers well. Winning the WC was everything to him so I'm sure he'd be gutted to miss out. Even if he does get fit in the nick of time, the riches of France's options are such that they wouldn't gamble on a half fit Pogba.

He left us on a free the first time, we paid a world record fee for him, he rarely could be arsed to put in a shift, he caused more issues off the pitch than he ever contributed to on the pitch. He through his agent disrespected the club, he would go on holiday when injured. He then left us on a free again after having made us waste close to £160 million on him in transfer fees, bonuses and wages. Then he left us again on a free. Now why the feck would any united fan give a shit about what this cnut is doing? Footballer gets injured, news at 10. Better players and nicer people than him have missed world cups. He's a thunder cnut. Get fecked. I wish we could close this disastrous chapter in the club's history and stop talking about him.

Not happy that he is injured but not sad either . Never liked the guy. Decent player but extremely self centered and did not provide any consistency. Yes, had some nice goals and flashes of brilliance but never had a consistent stretch of great games like Fernandes for example had.

He’d become fairly injury prone in his last two years at us. When everyone was going on about him pretending to be injured to go Dubai and stuff, he really was just that injury-prone. That burst of pace had gone from his game too. This could be the beginning of the end for PP.

Deschamps has a habit of picking proven players even when they’re not in the best form. If Pogba can play, he’ll be in the squad.
