Bernardo Silva, Jude Bellingham, Declan Rice, etc. Don’t tell me we can’t sign them, because you don’t know that.
Sure, City would sell us Silva and he'd be desperate for the move.

He'd fecking cost more too & can't do any of the things ETH wants De Jong for.Declan Rice

That’s a ridiculous list, although I’d love us to bid for Silva just to piss off Barca and City in one move. Shame he only has eyes for Spain and the neighbours wouldn’t even entertain the thought…..Bernardo Silva, Jude Bellingham, Declan Rice, etc. Don’t tell me we can’t sign them, because you don’t know that.
And then because they know how ridiculous they're being saying "dont say we cant sign them because you don't know"
Sometimes, it's okay to say I don't know and it's the scout's role to identify the backups (rather than naming some random players )
Right, so you actually think we can sign a City midfielder? You do realise Jude and Rice would cost over 120m?Bernardo Silva, Jude Bellingham, Declan Rice, etc. Don’t tell me we can’t sign them, because you don’t know that.
Yes, although there’s no sign of them being able to do that either

Massively overrated tbh. Nice city but always suggest Lisbon over BCNIt is a fecking dump, worst holiday of my life.
Absolutely my thought, I'll rather we sign Neves than sign Rice, and for the price quoted he's a no no for me.He'd fecking cost more too & can't do any of the things ETH wants De Jong for.
Because even if we do get Frenkie we still need a midfielder. Unless you want to go into a new season with Fred, FDJ and Mctominay as our only midfield options ?But there are plan B’s, they’re just nowhere near Frenkie’s level. So what’s the point in backing out with a month to go and getting a far inferior player?
Unbelievable JeffAnd then because they know how ridiculous they're being saying "dont say we cant sign them because you don't know"

Neves would be better, and even then we would need to buy another midfielder to play with Neves. Fred/Neves would get murdered.Absolutely my thought, I'll rather we sign Neves than sign Rice, and for the price quoted he's a no no for me.

The modern day version of ChileVisionFor those of you that don’t have Instagram. No idea what the butterflies are about?
I'd be well happy going in with a couple of promoted academy lads, Frenkie de Jong, Fred, McTominay, Eriksen & Bruno as our midfield options personally.Because even if we do get Frenkie we still need a midfielder. Unless you want to go into a new season with Fred, FDJ and Mctominay as our only midfield options ?
Agreed. We're not going for the title, so I think if FDJ comes, and we promote a couple of young ones, we definitely have it in us to get top 4.I'd be well happy going in with a couple of promoted academy lads, Frenkie de Jong, Fred, Eriksen & Bruno as our midfield options personally.
Now I know why this thread has so many pagesfeck me it gets explained on every single page of this thread. According to the top sources on this, no he cannot because that was not how his new deal was restructured.
He needs to mutually terminate his contract with his club just like every other player and just like with any player leaving a lot of money on the table, he is demanding a settlement package. Club & player can’t agree on that settlement.
Hence why we’re here.
I still don't think Fabian Ruiz is that far below FDJ's level. Real Madrid are linked with him now and he has only 1 year left on his contract. I also think Corentin Tolisso, while being quite far below FDJ and Ruiz' abilities, is still significantly better than Fred, and in a World Cup year he might want a move where he can get more gametime than Bayern. Its more the fact De Jong is like 10x levels above any other plan B would be.
The tweet actually says plan B and them not being good enough.
I dont even think you can name me 1 midfielder who we could sign, anywhere near his quality for the price.
Might change after seeing first few weeks of the season but right now my genuine thoughts are:I think something happens this week but what position do we finish with ..
A-Man United with FDJ
B-Man United without FDJ.
Are you new here...or...?If this deal doesn't go through then I hope folk don't go overboard and start with childish vitriol directed towards either of them. Both of them would rather stay in Barcelona. Even if Frenkie agreed to a move and it was scuppered because Mikky doesn't want to leave then it doesn't matter. Just because we want the move doesn't mean someone else has to maintain a stuff upper lip and just go with it.
Having said that I really hope he's a United player this season.
That's a pretty decent commentary speaking broadly on things. It’s really the era we live in. No one’s private life is private anymore. People put it all out on display, and it inevitably draws judgement, criticism or comment; especially when people have agendas. In this case wanting a player to join the club. Whether Frenkie’s fiancé wants to move to Manchester or not, is really an issue for her and Frenkie in private. And as much as I find some of the comments distasteful, I find almost as equally distasteful this constant parading of one’s private life in public. Inevitably the public personas are just a superficial, false representation of reality anyway.
I’m very happily out of touch. All this instagram bollocks is exactly that, bollocks. The people commenting on it are almost as sad as the people posting it. The fact we are getting sexist or misogynistic comments from middle aged men about the public postings of a player’s fiance, in her early 20s, is probably the least surprising, but most depressing part of this interminable saga.
The internet always brings out the worst in people. From the fake representations of life that social media gives us, to the anonymous toxic commentary it breeds. We are in the age of social media fundamentalism.
40m isn't going to sign a midfielder that's very important in a regular top 10 EPL team incase you're not aware of the financial stability of these teams, the only exception would be that the player is in the last year of his contract and is actively pushing for a move.If we sign Rice for anything more than £40m it’s a fecking travesty.
It depends on what formation we play and his position. ETH wants FDJ because he is capable of playing in the DM, CM and even AM positions. In games where we are playing against tough opposition, FDJ will be flanked by 2 sturdy CMs in Fred and McTominay. Otherwise it will be Bruno and Eriksen. Based on that, we can potentially reach 2nd or even 1stI think something happens this week but what position do we finish with ..

I’m not unfortunately, just trying to get ahead of what we already know is coming. Are you new here...or...?
