fair enough. There again consortiums are in it for the money. Ratcliffe might enter football out of his love for the game. He is a Manchester United supporter after all.
Lets be real he will also have a consortium behind him. He's estimated worth £13 billion, he's not going spend almost 1/2 of that and whatever he needs to invest (stadium, training ground, players, staff) on his own.

Before we get too excited, this was him a few years ago:
https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.mi...ews/britains-richest-man-sir-jim-20948272.amp
Asked whether he would be interested in a move for United, Ratcliffe told the Times : "Not at the moment, no. They are in quite a big pickle as a business.
"(Ineos) never wants to be the dumb money in town, never, never."
"They haven't got the manager selection right, haven't bought well," Ratcliffe said of United. "They have been the dumb money, which you see with players like Fred.
"We won't look elsewhere until we have had a good run here (at Nice). We need to find out how to be successful before you ever want to write a big cheque. It's quite difficult."

He added that United have "lost the plot" since Sir Alex Ferguson retired in 2013.

"United have spent an immense amount since Ferguson left and been poor, to put it mildly. Shockingly poor, to be honest," Ratcliffe said.

"We have a different approach here to be moderately intelligent about it. Try to do it more grass roots, trying to locate young talent.

"Some clubs seem to have an ability to do that, Southampton , Lille. United have done it really poorly. They have lost the plot there somehow."
Not sure what would have changed for him if he actually goes for it. Probably easing in with minority share and eventually taking over.

Yay - the man whos buying my country and "saving the northern atlantic salmon" is now buying my team and hopefully saving it.
Sir Jim, you can also buy my life for a few million (and therefor saving me, the most precious save there is)

Not getting my hopes up yet but it would be absolutely fantastic for the future of the football club If he was to buy it

Light at the end of this tunnel....

Has Sir Jim Ratcliffe got enough money with 12B to compete with City? I'm just not sure.
He wouldn't need to, The club generates enough to spend to keep up with anyone, it would be how he runs us

We don't need him to put money into the club. We just need him/them to clear its debts and stop looting it. Savings from interests and dividends would allow us to make massive investments into the club/stadium going forward.

As long as it is o
No one should care.

All we need is someone who isn't going to take money out the club like the current parasitic family.
As long as it is out of the Glazers hands, it would mean all the money generated by the club would go back into the club. 1.6 billion that has gone pt of the club wouldn’t happen again. We would be able to attract better sponsors as we would be more successful with less negativity.

Would also be nice to see an owner/s that interacts with the fans and players more than our current ones. Just the basics of a professional relationship even. Not to mention a few briefing here and there.
