He's absolutely class, 6 months down the line when were drilled in the way Ten Hag wants us to play and we're dominating the ball more he's going to be even better.

Replacing Pogba with Eriksen is one of the best glow ups of all time.
I was really pleased when we signed him, thought it was a very good piece of business, but I didn't for a second, think he would have this sort of impact. He's not the best defensively, but he puts in such a shift, he earns the right to play in there.
He’s a fantastic footballer, if he hadn’t had his health problems previously he’d have cost us loads to bring in.
He's been one of the biggest changes to our team and how we play, probably more so than any of our other new arrivals. In his own quiet way, he's levelled up all who play around him. It was such shrewd business snapping him up from Brentford. Even more impressive is how he does all of this and stays below the radar. Always was a big fan of his while he was at Spurs and was thrilled when we snapped him up because there's still loads left for him to achieve.I don't think those criticizing him realize he's the one dictating the style and speed of play. Which, to few, look like just ball recycling and thus boring.

Yep, swapping a perma-crocked, overrated and expensive pile of disruptive nonsense for a high quality and completely understated footballer on a free is one of the best bits of business I can remember in a while. Eriksen is the complete antithesis of Pogba.

It's also the style of play - quick quality passing from deep, rather than Pogba taking way too many touches, dawdling on the ball and either losing it in a dangerous position, or fouling the opposition. He did pull out the occasional Hollywood pass, but as Eriksen has shown, the quick-from-deep pass out to our front players can turn defence into attack in a second.
Its no doubt he will have some bad games here and there, or get caught on the ball some times. But Im guessing he will have more good than bad games especially be useful against the teams that sit back.
So far hes contributed in the big games too (yesterday and Liverpool)

Very odd comment, most of Pogbas assists to Rashford etc came exactly this way. The team is just setup much better with a manager that knows what he is doing. McTominay even looking like a midfielder

Eriksen never came here to be the back up, he simply wouldn't have joined us if that was the plan for him.
He wouldn't have signed to be a 'back up'. He was to play alongside. The idea that we were going to buy 3 midfielders in the summer and have 4 of Eriksen, Bruno, McTominay, Fred, VdB, + 2 on the bench every game never made any sense while other positions were more pressing.
We can talk all day about his passing, but that 3rd man run for the 3rd goal was fecking beautiful, and something we really don't see enough of to break the lines.

Loved his selflessness, haven't seen Rashford smile so big in years. He could have shot himself but chose to pass, he's clearly one of the leaders on the pitch that Ten Hag talks about.

Yeah I was happy to see him pass it, just a great goal all round. The confidence should do wonders for Rashford who's clearly been struggling mentally more than anything.

All the millions we've spent since Fergie, I think this free transfer may be our most important. I watched him a lot for Brenford last season, couldn't believe how good he was. (Stamford Bridge especially) I was saying to my mates at the time he was world class.
For me he's Modric (lite) and I mean that in the best way possible. Started off out wide, isn't the quickest but knows when to play the right pass, knows when to slow the game down, knows when to burst forward at the right time. He can control a match and we've been sorely lacking this type of player for so long. If Pogba was arrogance personified, this guy is the polar opposite. Screams of humility, looks like he's a positive influence in the dressing room.

Been a great bit of business to get him in for free. Plays an intelligent game, works hard, model pro and knows how to knock the ball about. What's not to like?
First of all, love him to bits. Now for an unpopular opinion.... I thought we got lucky yesterday because Odegaard never touched the ball. Because clearly the ref thought the barge was ok and would have been happy to let it go. Such is the downside of playing him in the pivot.
You said it yourself. You can’t ‘barge’ players over without touching the ball at all. How he missed it in open play is ridiculous.

He’s the nearest thing we’ve had to Scholes. He’s been great and may develop more into the type of player Scholes was in his thirties. Quite a way to go, of course, which is just a little reminder of how brilliant Scholes was.
Yeah I think his fitness is looking pretty good. No worries in that sense. He lacks pace obviously but we've plenty of that elsewhere.
