Thomas Tuchel | Gone to & from Bayern (In Summer)

It’s bizarre to think Chelsea could still be top of the league within 2 games. It’s not like a disaster start to the season.

I'm genuinely quite worried about this, I just hope that Chelsea's owners are happy to give Tuchel a bit of time to get his team to gel after a massive and disjointed transfer window.
Well my friend what can I say

Called this when the takeover happened. Woudnt be long before tuchel got the sack as wasnt appointed by new owner.

Not a suprise

This is incredible, but surely they knew or were pretty confident of getting Potter to sash Tuchel.

I actually wonder who Brighton will go for? They are a well run Club, so wonder if they'd considered this.

Not surprised it‘s happened, but surprised how early it is. Clearly different ideas between owner/manager.

Is Potter actually that good? I know he’s got Brighton playing well, but is it more that the club is run well & signs good players/unearths good talent or does he truly run things there & their success is down to him? Guess we’ll find out soon enough.

Lose three games and you get sacked. Modern football is madness. After all that money spent as well

I'm not convinced this hiring and firing approach will work for them forever either. It's not the way to run a football club, and Boehly is not Abramovich.

Wtf??? Just saw this on my feed. What happened? no rumours or anything, just gone like that. Wow.

Well I expected this to happen at some point this season but not this early. Has been coming for months probably, he wasn't employed by these owners anyways so they didn't care much about him.

Tuchel's a quality manager and will get another job soon (if he doesn't want to rest until summer) that is clear.

Apparently they’ve approached Brighton to ask permission to open talks, as well as Poch or Zidane - given how difficult we made it for Newcastle to get Ashworth, hopefully we’ll do the same and the others may turn out to be an easier and cheaper option.
Potter still has a long contract with us.

Hasn't Potter got a buyout? I don't think there is much the board can do. From the outside looking in with the way this has unfolded, I suspect an Agreement In principal was reached with Potter prior to Tuchel's sacking. Only thing Chelsea had to do then was to sack Tuchel and trigger the buyout.

Do you think this? You must really believe all other clubs are properly and perfectly run except United, don't you?

Chelsea model works. It brought them success after success for years. Doesn't have anything to do with being properly run or not. They know when to move on and bring new blood.

It's not the fact that sacked him but more that they brought in new players, then sack him. Why didn't they sack him before he approved transfer of new players.

Just fecking weird this Chelsea FC

Bonkers indeed. Tuchel got a lot of players he wanted, and now, they sack him 6 games in. He should have been sacked if it continued like this for a while, but it's clearly too early for the sack.

Well, hope whoever succeeds him does a worse job. One less contender for that top 4 spot.

By all accounts the rock set in on the pre season tour to the states. You could sense that there were tensions and a lot of head scratching from the players as early as the Everton game.

You can argue it’s too early and yep that view point has merits but you can also argue that if it was going to happen this was the best time in that no other major club is looking for a manager but also the new owner clearly isn’t going to just let things be run in the same way.

Potter would be an obvious choice in view of the new owners views on the academy etc

I saw this when I woke up and instant thought was this daft owner has just put in a boat load of money towards players Tuchel wanted then sacks him before mid september.

This sport has truly become a sick joke when you sack a quality manager like this before half september has even gone by.

What did this owner think? That Chelsea gonna challenge for everything this season? This Stamboehly seems as thick as a plank. I'd be fuming had I been a Chelsea fan, luckily I'm not, sickening thought.

His body language during the game was all wrong. I mean he always looks like a cancer victim, but after they went a goal down, he actually looked like he knew his time was up

Be surprised if Potter takes this. You don't really build reputations at Chelsea as they tend to hire big proven names, and you end up sacked in average in 2 seasons.

So he will need to win big trophies quickly or he be sacked.

Chelsea have won both of their two CLs using interim managers, or ones come in mid-season after the previous was fired. The board have a clear strategy.

I'm fully expecting Brendan Rodgers to win Chelsea's third CL this season. :wenger:

This happening would not surprise me one bit. And then the football world will again be clambering to talk about how good a coach Rodgers is, only for him to have them progressively sink to relegation form over the succeeding seasons.

Chelsea are so screwed.

So, first he had to put his back answering the questions about the war in Ukraine for a few months when their previous board went into hiding and after the new board came in he had to explain why a 37-year old striker might not be such a good idea.

Maybe he got fed up and said Boehly to feck himself in retrospect. And yeah, they might be screwed.

Utter madness. They gave him well over £250 millions to spend on transfers, inferring they had confidence in him and then 6/7 games in they stack him.
Tuchal has shown himself to be a particularly capable manager.
Madness....

Spot on.

Lets not forget they couldn't get ANY of his first choice targets. Not even second choice really.

It was a shitshow of a window for them.
