Foozball being back is something I’ve been jonesing for. The other night I had a dream where I was posting live updates to the Caf from a game where Eli Manning was in uniform for some reason and I remarked a how funny he was in person on the sidelines. Then I was posting pics to show how Saquon and Snoop Conner were ‘as thicc as Bella Brookz‘.

Don’t uh…google that last part. I don’t know how that bit got in there.
Jesus Christ - Googled that in front of my mam. Ruined Sunday lunch, she thinks I’m some sort of pervert.

We travel to Germany on Friday for a week at the Nurburgring, I’m hoping I’ll get chance to watch RedZone on Sunday :nervous:

Either a bit fecked up in the head or a relentless competitor. I'd certainly wanna be enjoying my couch aged 40 rather than lining up against those freaks at DE and LB these days.

Help please.

Have draft later tonight (just the basic NFL app one) and welcome any tips on players to try for.. or avoid.

Basic points one... yards and TDs focus.

Cheers.
Don’t be scared of ‘injury-prone’, draft for upside like CMC, Lamar, and Saquon. Let someone else reach for Dameon Pierce and draft Rachaad White or Tyler Allgeier as flyer on a rookie RB later instead. There hasn’t been progress on Alvin Kamara’s case so grab him if he falls.

Hollywood is hooking up with his ex-QB in a good offense with the WR1 suspended for a while, so he could win you games especially early. Tee Higgins could outscore Chase who is more dependent on big plays for scoring so just wait for him instead, and on that note take JJets over Chase. Don‘t let Elijah Moore slide even though he’s on the Jets, will have Zach Wilson (and early on maybe Flacco) throwing to him, and they drafted GW: the stats he was putting up whilst healthy were impressive despite having random people throwing to him.

If you punt on TE pick up one that might be a young QB’s safety valve like Cole Kmet or Evan Engram.

QB
Get Trey Lance at all costs. Also target QBs with great upside this season: Lawrence, Fields, Tua. If you don't get elite QBs early, I'd suggest getting at least a RB/WR combo first or RB/RB combo before drafting two QBs. From the top tier, I like Allen, Lamar, Murray and Hurts. DO NOT draft Burrow, also don't like Mahomes and Brady (you want rushing QBs). Dak Prescott and Wilson are fine.

RB
CMC > Taylor for me
I don't like Henry, Harris or Mixon as your RB1. Do like Cook and Swift, kinda like Ekeler.
Alvin Kamara and especially Barkley are amazing values if they fall a bit (I assume somewhere 3-4th round in superflex). So are Aaron Jones and James Conner but I'd rate them a tier below Kamara and Barkley. I usually stay away from Fournette and Chubb unless they drastically fall down the board.
Don't draft Zeke or Montgomery. Elijah Mitchell if he falls a bit could be nice (but SF is an unpredictable offense), and I don't like Dobbins either (Lamar runs way too much himself)
Breece Hall and Travis Etienne are the cut-off of what I'd like my starting RBs to be. So ideally you combine one of the backs mentioned above with them as your RB2 as starting RBs.
Avoid Damien Harris, Miles Sanders
Chase Edmonds could be a nice value with big upside, Clyde Edwards-Helaire as well. I reaaaaaally like Pollard as a later-round RB, and going even further down, I like Gainwell, Herbert and Singletary. But those are high upside shots which will be hit and miss, avoid having to start them on a weakly basis of course.

WR
First tier is clear: Justin Jefferson, Ja'Marr Chase, Cooper Kupp. I'd draft Jefferson and Chase over all running backs bar CMC, Taylor, Cook
Receivers I would be comfortable with as my WR1: Diggs, Lamb, AJ Brown, Tee Higgins, Michael Pittman Jr.
Receivers in early rounds I generally don't draft: Adams, Deebo, Evans, Hill, DJ Moore, Diontae Johnson
Middle rounds: I like Sutton, Jeudy, Bateman, Robinson, Michael Thomas and Waddle (a little less though).
Breakout candidates after that which I usually target: Gabe Davis, JuJu, Aiyuk, London, Toney, sometimes Skyy Moore. Also always target Julio Jones and Jahan Dotson in the last few rounds if they are still available, great upside.

TE
If he falls far enough, Kelce is nice. I usually stay away from Andrews, he's way too expensive. Waller and Kittle are fine where they are going, so is Pitts. If you don't get any of those, wait long enough on TE and draft someone like Zach Ertz, or even deeper the likes of Albert O, Cole Kmet, Pat Freiermuth. Stay away from Goedert, Hockenson, Schultz, Knox ... is usually what I do. Middle round TEs rarely break out.
Gave this advise to someone a few weeks ago. Not sure if you're already drafting but those are some tips of mine.

Thanks both… @RobinLFC … came in a few minutes after draft but got a few players mentioned (probably luck).

For the fifth year on the run, didn‘t get one of the first three draft slots … swear he fixes it. Anyway…

QBs - Kyler Murray and Russell Wilson
WRs - Cooper Kupp, Tee Higgins, Elijah Moore (Brandon Aiyuk, Bateman, Smith). Bit WR heavy?
RBs - Saquon Barkley, Alvin Kamara, Dameon Pierce (it auto drafted when I went to put food in oven)
TE - Kent, Goedert
Kicker - Folk
Defence - Bills

You’re v strong at WR, but at a cost certainly to your RBs. Fine if both stay healthy and play. But big risk if injury insues.

Totally forgot which teams start off the season on Thursday until I just saw a commercial for it. What a good game that should be.

I'm typing this with my Glock 19 two feet from me
just did one of my drafts. have one more tomorrow. this was a 14 team ppr league and i had the 12th pick

QB: Allen, Lance
RB: Cook, Hall, Dillon, Henderson, Allgeier
WR: Lamb, E Moore, Gallup, W Robinson, Pickens
TE: Ertz, Albert

went Cook, Lamb, Hall, Allen. The only one of those 4 I targeted was Lamb but the other 3 were great value for the pick

Yeah, other teams went other way and I thought I can try and match (but always picking after first three) or go hard on WRs. Would have liked one more decent RB for balance but ok with QBs, other bits.

Cook at #12 is an amazing return. He's RB3 for me.

I've got Cook as well in my league, long story short I didn't really want him but took him because it was an auction and he was the best value and all the RB1's were going off the board.

I just don't see how he finishes top 5 when he's likely going to miss 3 or 4 games as he usually does and he doesn't catch a huge amount of passes. I'm in half PPR and I feel that's an issue so in full PPR it's exacerbated a bit further.

You shouldn't worry about that - there have been a few studies on availability of RBs and you'd much rather want a RB1 who misses a few games per season than an RB2 who's healthy throughout. I can't find the exact articles anymore, but e.g. just look at Zeke last season: he was an "RB1" over the full season (RB6 in half PPR) but if you look at PPG he was RB14. You need league winners: guys like Rashaad Penny even though they only produced for (less than) half a season last year, and you could've picked him up midway through the season. Not many championship rosters had Zeke on their team unless it was as actual RB2 or even RB3.

Cook is a almost a lock to produce close to 20 FPPG when healthy, and when he's not, it's not like you have to keep that slot empty - there will always be replacement value available even if it's a bit less. It's a weekly game and you play to win each separate week, so looking at "top X finish" over the course of the season is a flawed strategy.

If that was Justin instead of Van you'd have absolutely nailed it :D

Love the Pittman-Williams combo at WR. Don't really like Mixon-Fournette as the former has limited 3th down usage and the latter has injuries all over his offensive line, but they could both still produce RB1 numbers of course.

McCaffrey misses more games and probably goes 1/2

Rightfully so, basically accounts for two RBs when he's healthy. Scored 27.7 and 24.7 PPR points in the first two games last season while only scoring one TD.

Fantasy players are terrible at predicting injuries. Chances are he'll be healthy all season and you've drafted a league winner in that case. If he misses some weeks, still fine enough for me if he gets me a victory in his healthy weeks.

I mean CMC is more of a risk but he is a potential league winner particularly in PPR formats, where Cook I don't think is. There's also some chance that he's actually healthy and plays all season as he did his first 3 years in the league, Cook meanwhile has literally never played a full slate of games.

If early reports are true regarding the offense, Cook will see more work in the receiving game and maybe less wear and tear running.

I could see him being a guy one would be kicking themselves for not drafting, but I guess that’s true for most of the RBs we’re talking about (CMC, Saquon, Kamara, etc).

I think I just rate Cook a lot higher in that case. McCaffrey is on another planet when fully fit though.

Madness. Although says more about Tampa than Brady!

I’m also not sure how that stat works. For example Evans was there before Brady and therefore surely must have more wins than Brady?
Yeah - would have to be most wins for a QB. When you look at their list of QBs it doesn’t exactly say too much.

I really want to stay up for this one! But I know I’ll be shattered if I do!
I'm off on Friday since we're leaving for the weekend away around noon. But not gonna be tempted in staying up for this one, Game in 40' is a more enjoyable experience anyway than sitting through a 3h game in the middle of the night (and indeed be completely knackered on Friday).

Oh, no doubt, it’s more a reflection on the Bucs. For years & years, we were the worst franchise vis à vis winning percentage in all the four major sports.

It’s just a comparison of QBs. Trent Dilfer has the most wins at 38 (all regular season, no playoffs).

Where's my arc, Paulie?
did one of my drafts yesterday. 12-team standard scoring and I had the 9th pick.

QB: Kyler
RB: Mixon, Etienne, Hunt, Michael Carter, Mattison
WR: Lamb, Metcalf, Bateman, Christian Kirk, MVS
TE: Kmet, Hunter Henry

think I messed up in terms of not getting two qbs and the te position

Disagree, your bench should be for upside and/or breakout players, not a backup QB or TE. If you're in a competitive league there will be enough streamable QBs and TEs on the waiver wire should you need them.

James Robinson being fit scares me a bit off of Etienne (hopefully not since I drafted him in the Caf league though), and I'm completely out on Metcalf this season. But Bateman is looking likely for a breakout season so should definitely be serviceable as your WR2 or even better.

It depends what you think of Etienne really. I have him as well but I'm expecting and only really need high RB3/low RB2 type numbers from him with the other backs I've got.

He's never gonna be a feature-back so Robinson was always going to see a significant amount of the touches on early downs, but he has big play ability and he'll be an asset in the receiving game (where he already has chemistry with the QB).

Game scripts are unlikely to favour the Jags much of course but where that'll hurt Robinson I don't think it'll affect Etienne much - he'll be one of if not their biggest playmaker and they'll try and get the ball in his hands to get them back in games.
