But who would take over? Big Sam I truly doubt, Poch might not be interested - going from PSG & Messi to Leicester and Maddison is too much of a downgrade.

Benitez? Marco Rose? Bielsa? Adi Hütter?

Ranieri... :D

He got fired though, his stock isn't that high.

If he's hoping for Europe's elite he might be disappointed and he seems a man of principle so he might rule out a club like Chelsea.

Bayern - probably won't sack their manager any time soon
[...]
Dortmund - would be a good fit
At the moment I feel like it's more likely that Bayern sack Nagelsmann than that Dortmund sack Terzic. Terzic simply has too much credit in the bank after his interim period while Nagelsmann really has to deliver this season and so far isn't doing exceptionally well (but still good, so they probably won't sack him if it doesn't get worse).

One of those two might soon become Leipzig's new manager, Tedesco had a horrible start and already has to fear that he's going to be replaced soon.

Just looks to have run its course for Rodgers there, undoubtedly been a success for them though.

Not sure where they turn, maybe Bielsa if they fancy some mad football for a while, or Dyche if they want to go ugly to try and stay in the prem.

We’re set to post £119m loses for last year.

His payoff is somewhere between £16m - £23m, depending upon what you read.

I’m not sure out board knows what to do for the best. At the moment, we’re a sinking ship.

Reminds me of 'Arry at Spurs after getting linked to the England job

Surely best to sack him and make a player sale in January (I am sure someone would pay for Tielemens to get ahead of the pack) to cover the loss.

Prem survival is far more important than the 20 million to sack him. As always, people talk down squads when managers are not doing well with them, but Leicester have some great players.

Spoilt for choice at both full back and center forward, with players in midfield that are not being used properly.

A new manager completely changes things with the quality at their disposal. It’s a no brainer.

I agree. Just get it over with now while there is lots of time for a the new manager to turn things around. 20 million is a lot of money but cheaper than dropping to the Championship & spending ten years trying to get back.

My money is Rodgers getting the sack and taking over at Aston Villa when Gerrard eventually gets sacked as well. Maybe a straight "swap" with Gerrard becoming the new Leicester manager.

yep, definitely worth the hit to get him gone. The battle to stay up this season is very competitive and it’s better to take that punt because you have good players and enough to be better than at least 5 teams.

Yeah, I can see Rodgers at Villa easily. Or Everton if their results get worse under Lampard.

Every manager in the premier league is 3 consecutive heavy defeats away from having his job under threat. Lampard is a long way from safe but does seem to have Everton going at least a bit better.
Sure but there are a few managers in the league I’d have before Lampard currently in the next to be sacked race.

I know they’re in a budget but they made a terrible goalkeeping choice. Replaced a leader with a plank. He’s playing behind an reliable defence right now but I think they’ll need to get a new keeper in January. A bad one has such an unsettling effect.

Not his fault. Club spent next to nothing. Players left. Others want out.

Literally nothing he can do to turn that tide.
You don’t think he’s a big reason why they left / want out? Morale is terrible there because they know he’s mismanaging them and has run out of ideas.

What’s actually happened to them this year? I knew they would be worse than last season but not rock bottom of the league bad.

Even Romero on a free would've been better. Or a dozen loan options. Almost feels like Rodgers is tanking to get that payoff.

They have a very good keeper in Daniel Iverson who is sitting on the bench. Rodgers for some reason is sticking with ex Liverpool player Danny Ward.

Agree on the keeper situation. We had the option of Ward or Iversen.

Neither with be the long term replacement, Iversen I think will be the shorter term option, however we have a lad out on loan who is very good. Iversen was solid last season on loan at Preston and I’d personally favour him.

It feels like he’s sabotaging the team at this stage, with weird team selections and styles.

Soyuncu - He’s bench and playing midfielders in defence instead of him.

Vestergaard - He’s not even in the squad. Hasn’t been seen for ages. He signed him and when he did play, he didn’t suit the system.

Bertrand - Same as Vestergaard. We shouldn’t expect any less when we’ve signed half the defence that let in 9 when we played them.

Praet - Belgium international, doesn’t get in the team. Apparently they don’t get on.

Soumare - Apparently homesick and can’t track players. Clearly not a DM, so why we are playing him there I don’t know.

NDidi - Isn’t a centreback, can’t pass forward and Brendan has changed his game. Always injured.

Mendy - Got dropped but was actually the most consistent of our holding midfielders.

Amartey - Wouldn’t be playing at centreback for any other club in the league. He’s costing us at least one goal a game.

We have had no right sided player since Mahrez. The option was Wright but we sold him to Blackpool. No doubt someone will buy him back for big money in a few seasons.

Wrights not a winger he's a central midfielder

At this point I think they're way too deep to crawl back again with him. There's clearly a division within the squad, with a bunch of players sidelined and Rodgers playing some out of position.

I think he'll be gone by October if not sooner.

I'm actually baffled he is still at Leicester. I fully expected him to be sacked after our game but he stayed on. Even survived the embarrassment against Brighton. I think it's right the only thing keeping him there is his severance package. El Sackico awaits.

Bet he’s wishing he’d called them all “cnuts” and been fired a week ago…
