Martinez, Eriksen, Varane. And that's just at United. Feel better now?
Whilst Martinez and Varane look an excellent partnership, they had all sorts of problems with Gabriel Jesus in the Arsenal match. Varane in particular was directly at fault for the goal we conceded.

I wouldn’t have an issue if Eriksen had got the award instead. However, only in a Rashford thread would we get people posting criticism of a decision to give one of our players an award who was directly involved in every goal we scored in the relevant month.

So tedious mate. Love Rashford. One of our own. You're allowed to support the player and not think he was the best player in the league in September you know.
The issue is you used the word ‘ridiculous’ to describe him getting the award.

He didn't get the same hype as Greenwood because he wasn't as good.
That's not the point, even the likes of Angel Gomes, Januzaj and Pereira had more hype because they had exposure at U23 level, Rashford seems like he came out of nowhere because he skipped a whole stage of development.

It is. Blows my mind that it can be so driven by stats that it ignores everything else.
He’s been amongst the best players during that period. I wouldn’t say it’s ‘ridiculous’ he got the award. That suggests he’s been no where near it.

Is there a individual award that isn't driven by stats?
Stats matter and should totally play a part. But for it to be so blindly lead by stats to the point where others are discounted because they haven't actually scored is silly.

I don't agree with your point though, Gomes and Januzaj were both generating hype well before they played in the U23s. There were people talking about Gomes when he was 15.

Maybe it's just me but I heard Rashford's name for a long time and I'm not a huge follower of youth level football. But it's usually at U23 football when you start to think people can seriously make that jump.

I disagree.
Which is fine but to say the player with the highest number of goals and assists in the designated period, especially including a fixture against the top of the league side, shouldn’t be in the running is strange and rightly going to raise eyebrows.

To say in your opinion another player deserved it is fine but to use the term ‘ridiculous’ suggests some huge miscarriage of justice.

Been our best attacker under ETH thus far. Early days, granted, but there's a few people on here looking a bit silly now.

You don't get the numbers he's had in the past by being a bad player. His form was always going to return at some point.

Don't think it helps him at all playing left of Ronaldo.

I don’t think playing next to Ronaldo helps any of our attackers right now.

He lacks effort and intensity.

There was one instance when Ederson miskicked the ball vertically upward and Rashford didn't even bother to try to win the header against Ake/Akanji inside City's box. he just stood there and let Ake/Akanji head the ball without pressure.

It is a shame particularly when he is a boyhood man utd fan so he are supposed to show some passion in games?

Lack of technical ability and has less explosive speed than years previous.

He's done well so far this season but let's face it - if he's not running into space with the ball he's a complete liability.

Poor Rashy. This game probably denies him EPL Player of the Month for October.

He is a disgrace in terms of effort and application
Agreed, its like playing with 10 men. Just before he got brought off he just stood there and allowed a City defender to play a headed pass under 0 pressure when the ball was in the air for ages in their box...sums up his effort levels.

That pass leading up to Malacia getting booked, what a joke that was

People were actually trying to say he was having a good season cause he had 2 good games against Liverpool and Arsenal, absolutely no chance.

This isn’t a reaction to this game but I didn’t think he was on the comeback.
He’s popped up with some important goals and assists but offered little more than that. Maybe it’s the teams tactics but he’s lazy in his pressing, he backs out of every ball in the air and his general play has been poor.

Player of the month award and a recall to the England squad and presumably this means he doesn’t have to run on the pitch anymore…. Again.

Yep I noticed that, he has one of those atleast once a game. For aslong as we continue having Rashford a key part of our team we will win nothing. He is so far from the required standard it's untrue. A couple of goals and a dubious player of the month award doesn't gloss over what a limited lazy player he is.

Awful player.

I hope those who were crowing over his average performances last month will introspect as to how poor he is.

Once more.

Sell him.
