Assume Rashford pulled his hamstring after all given he wasn’t on the bench although I’m sure I read he had been seen training?!

After Martial’s recent interview, it’s now obvious Ole brainwashed all these guys to be playing while not fully fit which I find pretty irresponsible

We knew Marcus played through injury, but when he decided to do that for England he was outcast by so many forum fans. He carried us over a period when nobody else did at a young age, I was very disappointed with the knee jerk reaction when he didn't instantly bounce back. He's a youth product who has turned up in big games time and time again, seems like a smashing lad who did us proud over COVID and looks like he might well be on his way back. I think it's bonkers that we're not all united in cheering him on. Will he do it? Nobody knows, but love this guy and really hope he can play a part here for a long time. He's definitely more of a left winger than a pressing forward, but in the absence of Ronaldo and Martial, he's scored the goals in the big games when it's mattered. Great to see and credit to him.

If it happened, it was certainly going on with Mourinho. He publicly criticised players for not wanting to play when not fully fit. Top sportsmen in most sports are rarely without any niggles at all.

I agree there is a line that should be drawn. Ole’s main problem in connection with this was that he didn’t rotate or use subs to rest his best players because he perceived the drop off to be too great. It wasn’t sustainable. I disagree with most of the negative comments about Ole but I do think he failed in his long-term use of the squad, frequently playing the best players into exhaustion. I could understand why he was doing it but in the end it caused more problems than it solved.

Allowing Rashford to play through that injury was truly stupid idiotic stuff. If ever I saw a situation where a player could sue a manager. It was so obvious and blatant incompetence. With back injuries the likelihood of ever returning to 100% with plenty of rest and recovery is low enough without a coach making it worse. The irony of having his best season under Ole was how much he might have hampered him long term. Even the technical and tactical side is crazy underdeveloped. Like watching an academy player out there. Those are 3 years of development time he'll never get back.

Rashford, and every other young developing players need help from coaches who actually know what they’re doing. If Marcus can get his body and mind right we know what we have. Finally we have people in charge we can trust to do just that.

Manager clearly rates him.

No manager has never not rated Rashford, okay maybe at first anyway. His destiny has always been in his hands. Let's see if ETH can be the one to raise his general game and decisions. He'll however always be a better option than current Ronaldo.

Rashford Dribble isn't what it was in the past, his 1v1 skills downgraded massively and holding up the ball is non existent.

We'll score a goal with him as a striker only if we're in transition like he did against Arsenal last week and against Spurs and city a few years back.

I'm not sure if he's best as main striker or but all I know is that we're quite comfortably a more threatening side with him in our starting 11. I feel he's more important than Antony, Martial or Sancho. He's the only one that has blistering pace in our front line and all things considered, he's pretty ruthless when it's just him and the keeper.

With both Rashford and Martial out, this break isn't the worst thing to happen.

Good to know as I now half believe we will drop points every other game Ronaldo starts. Begging to be proven wrong but the way they drop common sense to center every attack around him is a losing formula. They just spam attempts over the CBs like they won't see it coming after the first two dozen attempts. Absolutely hate the way the club acts so starstruck over a player who no longer has 'it'.

I don't think we do that anymore, it's more a case of he's naturally the only guy who makes those runs, but as a player he's someone that just kills the attacks or ruins the chances now. The rest behind him are all creators, so if no Rashford to make runs, then Ronaldo will get all the chances.

Let's get honest. All the chances falling to Ronaldo has less to do with being the only scoring specialist and more with consciously playing a highly predictable low functioning style when he starts.

Sancho and Bruno already have goals from the kind of chances they rarely see in the Ronaldo system. Then many of our goals from the other attackers involve major playnaking contributions from the CFs. It's not about only having playmaking specialists. Those guys know how to find the net as well but are reduced to a very rigid playmaking role with CR present. Some of those runs don't even make sense within the context of many attacks or require the players to bin build up to go stupidly direct. It's like he's playing his own system where he only wants to go where he wants to be not where he should actually be. He also resists running down channels that don't go goalwards and it adds another layer of predictability to how well he can spearhead attacks. I truly agree when Ralf said he isn't a CF. It's a wide forward masquerading as one.

17 days for him and Martial to recover until our next game . I hope it’s enough

I think he will improve his game this season you can see he already score goals and helped the team in defending and attacking. Just give sometimes. Maybe he surprise us all.

That is dark. Erik ends the queen? Who knows? She's suffered so much watching united these past 10 years and now we are winning, she thought, I best get out while the going is good and then boom..she leaves. We lose! Spared again.

Needs to improve his hold up play, aerial ability and playing with back to goal and I wouldn't mind him as the #9 not sure how effectively those things can be coached to the level needed though

From some reports its quite apparent that Rashford would have been in the squad if fit...
he'll make the wc squad if he continues his form, Abraham/Toney/Bowen will drop out.
Over for Sancho though.
