Showed some real moments tonight, like I said in Felix thread still feel we would need a number 9 with either player as well.

From what i've seen and read about him he's basically the dutch Bruno Fernandes olandese (sorry, @Cheimoon  )

Which is high praise, but also, Mancunian together have the OG Bruno Fernandes, so it seems kinda pointless

It’s probably due to tactics and his manager is RvN after all, but kid couldn’t stay onside to save his life, even when he was in a position looking straight down the feckin line.

PSV did well last night. Arsenal went there complacent and were defeated soundly on the counter. It was a great finish from Gakpo for the offside goal and he did well but I'm still a bit on the fence from what I've seen. You would've thought Arsenal's highline would've suited him but he was comically bad with the offside trap.

Really feels a similar player to Rashford, even down to the "oh he can possibly play striker".

His finish for the offside goal was kind of more like a top class striker than you'd see from Rashford. He'd fallen flat on face with an opening just before that so when he went through I thought he was going to feck it up but it was a beautiful chipped finish.

Just seen that. How good is he up front, how is his hold up and link up?

Hmm. Raphinha level passing (who is the Brazilian winger Bruno) but his [Gakpo’s] dribbling percentages look very good. Added to the fact he’s not built like a twink like the other two mentioned, I think he’d be fine.

So did Sancho's at Dortmund. Thing is, anybody watching Sancho play could see he wasn't really a dribbler, he lacked the kind of elite burst needed to be effective. Most of his dribbling was either to keep possession - avoiding pressure - or in transition situations where he had a running start against a back-pedaling defender in open space. Gakpo is the same. His passing and crossing are great so he projects as a high level creator off of those - like Sancho - but he's also a high volume player, like Bruno, someone who is effective because he monopolizes so much of his team's attacking play

He'd probably be fine in a top league, sure, my point is that Manchester United don't really need him, since they already have Bruno, who is a very similar player. It'd probably end up into another Sancho situation i think

Yeah I've said before he looks like Rashford with more technique in front of goal but a bit less explosiveness.

We need to replace Martial and Ronaldo. £25m seems a great deal allowing us to bring in an Osimhen this summer.
Not sure we’ll replace Martial. Ronaldo is gone though but given we lost Cavani and Greenwood from the forwards there’s still scope to add two new ones whilst retaining the others.

Gakpo has versatility which works in his favour.

Deepthroating information to Howard Nurse.

Always been a huge Martial fan and I think we may keep him around without renewing his contract but realistically unless he proves his fitness post World Cup we shouldn’t be planning with him - him being fit should be considered a nice bonus.

I'm hopeful that Gakpo can be converted into a centre forward. An Osimhen or Kane type in the summer would leave us in a good position.

There was rumor present somewhere in September, club will take it easy in winter after heavy spending in the summer. Still a rumor, but it could be also educated guess after last winter was ignored.

It's Glazers after all, but who knows, if ETH will continue to impress to the point of both board and owners giving him support as a reward for improving quite a few players, because If he didn't improved them, think we could need even heavier spending in next summer (5 players at least).

Sesko and Ohsimhen won't be cheap, so Gakpo shouldn't take that much of a budget.

Not sure why this thread is active when United have Sancho>Rashford>Elanga>Garnacho that can all play from the same position.

Considering money is tight a CF should be higher on the priority list.

Well United and Ten Hag openly like the player and by all accounts were close to signing him this summer. It also seems he turned down a move elsewhere and there’s talk that’s as United will be back in for him.

That, mixed with the fact he’s available in January for £25m, gives every reason for this thread to be active surely?

His age, versatility and low fee would make him a low risk option.

Sign him in January even if that money comes off the summer budget. We need another forward and he seems to be the manager's target.
