Glorious player having a glorious season but unfortunately he'll pick up his annual serious injury and then miss some games for his sister's birthday as well.
It was at least 1 page and a half since the last birthday joke, it was long overdue! Kuddos for the originality.

How do he and Vinicius slot into the same Brazil starting lineup or are they competing for the same spot wide-left?

Neymar has a more central role with Brazil and plays n10 most of the time. And to be fair, he'll never compete with anyone for a spot in the team at least under Tite.

Makes sense I suppose. If he plays centrally then he can't make use of his dribbling as well as if he was wide left, but he can utilise his passing and vision more effectively. And Vinicius is a pretty brilliant dribbler too so it's not like the team loses anything.

If he continues current form he might have a Balon D or next season

That's kinda mad that he's only now hitting 100 league games in his 6th season. Wonderful stats in those games though, but yeah Mbappe has 50 more league games in the same period and even that is lower than I expected. Looks like the highest number of games he's ever managed in a league season is 22.

Mount, for comparison, is on 111 league games in his 4th season at Chelsea.

He's always been an outstanding player. Spending his peak years at PSG and being injured a lot has hurt the successes he could have had and credit he would otherwise have received.

Endorsing Bolsonaro. Great player but strikes me as a terrible personality.
He was always pretty adamant about that unfortunately, his family is pretty deep into the evangelical church. I mean the man wore a handband with "100% jesus" written on it. Ronaldinho is in the same boat (many other brazilian players are), pretty sad to see. Very ironic when you know how hard they party, I highly doubt the outcome is.... very catholic.

You can't get mad at every famous person that has controversial political takes, or views that don't along with yours.

I learned not to care about what famous people think about politics, caring about it is kinda useless, cause you are not changing their mind anyway.

It happened with Maradona as well, endorsing Fidel Castro dictatorship in Cuba (when both were alive).

Course you can. Bolsonaro is a fascist thug who's also destroying the rainforest. If you don't call that out we're all truly lost.

I think you absolutely should judge him. He can be as good as he wons, sndorsing a fascist and climate terrorist far outweighs everything he could do on a football pitch. He's either an idiot or an asshole for supporting him.

Why not? Someone who champions fascism to any degree deserves receiving of criticism despite what the ultimate affect will be.

You can judge him, you can't get mad about it, it's a waste of time, as the outcome on him won't change by any means.

Neymar won't care what a bunch of nobodies on social media say about him or his politics, neither will PSG owners, and neither will UEFA for that matter... nothing happened to Ozil after endorsing Erdogan either.

That's what i meant, not that you shouldn't judge him.

Sensational today. That pirouette was ridiculous and his finish for the goal was also fantastic.

Another goal and assist today. He and Messi - when on form - are unmatched.

Neymar is a great player, he's always been.a great player and he will always be.a great player. Anyone who thinks otherwise is a bitter, soulless hater. The End.

another sitter that Mbappe misses. He has at least 2 of those every single game. We argued about this before.
I dont think this can be classified as a sitter. The angle was closing fast and there was a defender on him, its a lot harder to finish than you think. Ive seen him miss real sitters but this was not one of those.

May as well he doing that in the MLS.
Ligue 1 provides some of the best center backs in europe every year, it's not a great league offensively but from a defensive standpoint, comparing it to MLS is totally absurd, that's a ridiculous point to make.

Now I am not a football expert and I will never claim to be one but this constant belittling of leagues that are not the EPL or CL is very childish.
You can see in the above video how tough the challenges are that Neymar has to face, he isn’t just walking through them, in the end he needed an outrageous and inventive piece of skill to create a chance.
The French teams obviously are no world class teams because they simply lack the good results in Europe to classify them as such but this doesn’t mean they are simple pushovers.
Even Messi needed a full season to adapt to the aggressiveness…

The French league if you pay some attention is one of the more exciting leagues in Europe. The record champions have just 10 league titles and the league started as far back 1894, this says enough about how competitive it is over there. I reckon it is by far the most difficult league in Europe.

But yes PSG with their money make it look like a walk in the park.

the ball is coming in a comfortable angle for his dominant foot to finish, he has a considerable amount of space. And it’s Mbappe, you would expect him to have a better finishing. I’ve seen him several times missing chances like this one, he seems far more comfortable finishing from A little bit further

When him and Messi are on song, they might be the best attacking duo ever in their telepathic understanding and sheer brilliance.

Neymar pushing for that move away from Barcelona really was criminal because we were deprived of watching the two of them when they were still a lot closer to their peaks.

Don't get the hate for Neymar for some. He's brilliant bar the theatrics and also makes a boring Brazil side exciting to watch. Great players can play together which he and Messi are. Mbappe for me aren't in the same league with those two

Yeah I think some of the invective is a little over the top. I'm not sure what precipitates it, but some of the takes just seem a little crazy. At his best, he has a peak that beats most all-time greats.

It seems Neymar and Messi took it to their heart to show who is the boss after all renewal drama and Mbappe wanting to be the top dog.
