He just picked up a scarf? And he wasn’t playing for us at the time.

Tbh I can hardly think of anything less equatable than a member of our current playing staff, whose not been playing well, who missed pre-season, tried to force a move, left the ground early in his first game back, refused to be brought on as a substitute and then left the ground early again… despite still having a manager that constantly tried to play it all down, reintegrate him into the team whenever he could be (apart from against really good pressing sides who’d kill us with a 40yo up front) and even made him captain last week, all in aid of 2 non penalty goals in 16 appearances … to come out and say he doesn’t respect the manager, that the club are miles behind being a top team, that all the youth players are shit these days because they don’t learn from him, and that any old team mates who’ve made mild, largely tactical criticisms of him are ugly and jealous - IN THE MIDDLE OF THE feckING SEASON!! - then has the gall to say he’s “setting an example” or doing it for the fans because he’s mildly touched upon some of the same issues we’ve had for decades!!??

Nah mate. Not the same as picking up a fecking scarf on your way down the tunnel.
Haha.

Okay I give you that it’s a bad time in the season and the ETH stuff is probably unnecessary and will cost him his career here, we haven’t heard that yet though and don’t know if the snake Morgan put words in his mouth.

That's why the whole thing is a joke, nobody really checked him seriously. He probably would have canceled the whole thing immediately
This is always a problem with these big stars. They have nobody that dare actually speak the truth to them.

If they do - it's somebody from outside his circle being a hater and criticising him. It's exactly why these Narcassists end up getting worse and worse.

Context, Beckham isn't a current player struggling for form and being kept on the bench so you can be sure that if he displays his opinion against the Glazers, it's actually genuine. That's the main difference. Ronaldo wouldn't have made this ITW if he was played regularly by ETH
He was played regularly, definitely more than he's had merit for. What you probably mean is if he played every single minute.

Can anyone give me a breakdown of why he wasn't sold in the Summer?
I dont get how people do not understand this.

Regardless, here is a breakdown.

Supply and demand.

To sell someone, you need a buyer willing to buy the player. In the summer there was no buyers for Ronaldo.

There were loan offers but with United paying majority of wages... pointless.

So that is the reason he was not sold, there was no demand for Ronaldo.

Well we can all see his career here is over so he may as well be not employed by the club the reference was to the contrasting opinions on both men.
Oh so we're not paying him are we?

The fact is your point about what Beckham did and what Ronaldo has done being similar is absolutely ludicrous as everyone keeps telling you.

Well, there was no added context in last night's interview which changed the tone of what he said so I don't expect there to be any additional context that makes any of the rest of his comments ok either.

It wasn't alright when Keane did it. He shouldn't have done that interview and there was never going to be a way back from that. Keane should have kept his mouth shut and his head down for the good of the team but his ego/dislike of McCarthy got the better of him. I also suspect his knee was giving him trouble and he knew he'd struggle.

The fact that you're highlighting some comments about the Glazers that weren't very insightful, or news to anybody, as the reason people are calling him out when it's actually about the comments regarding the young players, the manager, and being thin-skinned over legitimate comments etc is quite strange.

As for name-calling it's an objective fact that the man is a narcissist and doing the interview at this time in a bridge-burning exercise to force a move is quite cowardly and yes I'd describe it as cnuty behaviour. I don't think that's very immature or an overreaction.
There wasn’t much in last nights interview at all and what he said about the younger generation may be 100% right or what he’s mentioning about Rooney trying to get close then trashing him may be true also, we all know people who do those things. The part about the manager hasn’t been shown yet so we can’t really comment. As for a bridge burning exercise, maybe, but if the relationship has gotten so toxic maybe it’s the best for both parties.

A guy as rich as him, who could live off his social media income solely, could have played for free for anyone. He just wanted the whole cake

So what? kpop vids have 20 million in one day after release. Popular Esports tourneys have 5 million LIVE. Video games patch previews have 2 million LIVE. What a boomer.

Without even going as far as Ronaldo playing for free. If Ronaldo was willing to earn as much as most of his current teammates, he would have nearly a dozen of CL clubs able to afford him. At 560k, there is only a small amount of clubs that can afford him and only United would do that for a player that isn't in his prime.

It was a standard old man complaining about the younger generation thing and wasn't particularly insightful and little he says is. He's not very intelligent in that way. Can you show me where Rooney trashed him? That wasn't my interpretation. He was asked questions about particular incidents and as far as I can see answered honestly and was fair about it. I feel he was played by Morgan there a bit.

We'll see later if there is any additional context but the toxicity seems to be all one way to me. He wasn't fit initially and was integrated into the team but played quite poorly but was still given 3 or 4 games in a row and made captain immediately before the interview so it doesn't appear at this distance that he's been treated particularly harshly by EtH.

We’ve being wanting to know for years why the club hasn’t been performing at elite levels then when an elite (or former) elite comes out and gives a few examples he’s a cnut.

No doubt Ronaldo is looking out and at 37 probably doesn’t have much time left to incorporate a new playing style but you gotta ask yourself how has the relationship become so toxic?
We have known for years why the club isn't performing at an elite level, the glazers and Woodward are clueless when it comes to footballing decisions. Ronaldos revelations about the Glazers being poor owners mostly uninterested in the football are hardly groundbreaking exclusives, and In all honesty unrequired with a knew footballing team In place just getting there feet under the table. Amidst a back drop of anti glazer protests etc.

He clearly thinks he knows best and has a problem with high press managers. (He has never been one for doing the dirty work, much happy just strutting around trying to get on the end of stuff) but geuss what all the best sides currently have high press managers it's the current trend in football, and we have just employed a highly rated high press manager to hopefully take us forward and back towards the top. Ronaldo coming out and complaining about ETH is frankly disgraceful.

Hopefully the board have the balls to terminate his contract ASAP and get him out of the club. If not it will be yet another mistake in a long list of footballing mistakes by the board in recent years.

Except for those looking for some kind of relevance on the world stage no one else was stupid enough to take him off our hands. We were also unable to buy a striker and with Martial's injury issues we were short on that front. Very likely EtH thought he'd contribute more on the pitch to some extent.

Must've been difficult for ETH. Taking over at a failing super club and having to deal with the biggest ego the game has seen. Suppose it would've been far more difficult had CR37 not been an old hag, though. It's all a tad sad though. Only yesterday, noodlehair making his debut and the fans enjoy the prospect of a new Bestie. But heh even Hitler was an innocent child. Wasn't he?

We should just keep him and make him clean the toilets and sports drinks for the reserves. If he plays again for us it will be really embarassing for the club and the manager. Time to show his balls now and make the squad even stronger by expelling him from trianing and games. Hopefully he leaves so ETH is not in that situation. Can't imagine this would happen in Bayern for example..

On Rangnick:

The club got all the players together and said "Lads, we've made a new appointment. Ralf rang Nick, he starts tomorrow". Great, I say, we get new jacuzzi now right? Everyone look confused. Nick Knowles yeah? The guy that does DIY show on BBC, Ralf has asked him to sort out the facilities?
Everyone laugh and explain to me that Ralf Rangnick is some old German guy who's coming to be coach.

On Ten Hag:

I have meeting with him when it's announced. Like custom on Redcafe, I shout 'cocks out'. He gives me strange look and chuckles. "Heh, put your chipolata away Cristiano". I am furious at disrespect. So I go away and get penis enlargement. When I finally turn up in pre-season, I walk in dressing room and show everyone. You can call me Cris-teninch-o now! Ten Hag tells me to shut up and put some clothes on, I am left humiliated.

On Facilities:

Everything the same. Take bathroom for example, mirror still have crack from my good looks. Cubicle wall still has my 'call for fun time' message with phone number from 2007.
Swimming pool have blue and white tiles, these are colour of Messi country!
For analysis stuff, they use old Samsung X1 laptop plugged into TV smaller than the one in Cristiano Jr's bedroom.
I confront Maguire. "You are captain, it is your duty to complain. Conditions here are what you expect in prison cell in shithole like Greece!" He seems offended and tells me to feck off.

It looks like your stalls were already set out before watching any of the interview.

I find it funny that for years the Caf has been saying everything under the sun about the Glazers and turn the Caf green and yellow but when Ronaldo says it he is instantly a cnut even before what you care to hear.
Are you for real? Why are you completely missing the point here? Either you are wumming deliberately or you are extremely naive.

The rest of the content from the interview is IRRELEVANT from the moment he decided to throw his current manager, colleagues and employer under the bus. How hard is it to grasp that? He doesn't give a feck if Glazer own United or not.

Lingard speaks on Ronaldo's situation.

"It's his situation," Lingard told talkSPORT. "I dealt with my situation with the club. We kept it behind closed doors. We settled it on good terms, of course, so I support the club. That's his situation.

It's weird as well how /r/soccer and /r/reddevils seem united in defending Ronaldo. Same on Tik Tok and a lot of the places that are easily swayed by bot farms to push an agenda...

Hmm, I wonder if this is just me being cynical or if there is an effort from the CR7PR team to negate damage by any means necessary...
I think they’re all just a bit mental. Driven to madness by constant downvoting of any comment that is even slightly negative about anything to do with the club. It’s like a cult.

I guess maybe the same thing happens on TikTok? Positive stuff gets the most interactions.

Jeez you know he's in trouble when even Lingard is sounding more mature than him!

It sounded like he and Mendes essentially approached every single CL club and nobody wanted him bar Boehly but Tuchel wasn’t keen. I wonder if Potter gets strong armed this Jan, he’s still a highly lucrative ‘franchise player’ (excuse me while I am sick in my mouth over that phrase).

For all the talk and focus on Ronaldo, it seems relatively clear to me that United’s plan was to sell him if we got a decent fee/a buyer (didn’t happen) so just let him ride out the season as backup and accept he’ll throw a tantrum. I don’t think they expected this interview especially after seeing how poor he’s been, I don’t think anyone thought he was this deluded in his abilities to be honest but we are where we are and I think the club have handled this really well. He comes out of this looking weak and surplus to requirements after the club have given him ample opportunities.
