I`m sad for Wales - my second favourite team after England in this tournament - as it was the stuff of dreams getting to the World Cup again and they did it. Without the depth of England.

I want England to finally win the fabled trophy again despite my misgivings about their defence and a few other things. I am actually related to Phil Foden on my mother`s side although I`ve never met him and he would be surprised at our common ancestor from the 16th century`s connections. But I`d be happy to see both Wales and England get out of the group.

Fair play to Iran, however, and they showed the form that some of us thought would be on display against England. I don`t think Hennessey was intending to injure anybody but the recklessness of that raised knee and body slam was astonishing for want of a better word.

That defensive header back to the keeper was so calm and excellently executed

What sort of a tackle is that? That's a foul isn't it?

With Terry also chipping in on the latter.
Followed by a bit from Steven Gerrard on how not to slip under pressure (accompanied by John Terry), a piece from Thibaut Courtois on maintaining squad harmony (with a word from John Terry), a cautionary tale from Kieran Tripper about feeding insider information to friends and family for gambling purposes (with a little help from John Terry)...

Don’t think it’s a pen. The Qatar player initiates that for me.

That's a pen if you ask me. Doesn't get the ball and obviously knocks him over.

And Terry is on hand to promote our limited edition World Cup NFT apes.

I think Senegal are lucky there. I'd have given a penalty. He's looking for it but there is contact ultimately.
