We unfortunately live in the era of stats now, everything on the pitch can be quantified or so I'm told, I still don't know how xg is worked out.
He’s technically decent, two footed, and works his bollocks off. That alone will make him a good option, but his lack of cutting edge is what holds him back. It’s a shame he’s gone from one terroristic football club to another, but nobody forced him to do so
I dunno, I think spurs were one of the few teams interested and we needed to get the deal done immediately. They were willing to just pay what we wanted so he was kind of forced by us both to get it done-ish.

Delighted for him, we absolutely love him at Spurs because he works his bollocks off and is very talented. He will most likely be our number 9 when Kane retires/leaves/whatever and he can do a good job on the left as well. Underrated by those who don't watch him regularly and doesn't have the media hype that Jesus has but he is a more effective player in my opinion and clearly the Brazil coach agrees.

It is amazing how Spurs have Kane and Richalison while United after spending over a billion and more than City we have a glass Martial and need to spend 70-100 mill to rectify our situation. Maybe we can get another winger wide forward to the collection.

I made the correction, the initial point was to bring up the fact people can think a striker new to the league with a 1 in 2 record was a poor signing but a striker who has yet to register a goal in the league for his new team, in a league he’s been in for 5 years gets the benefit of the doubt.
For what it’s worth I think he made a odd move to Spurs but I’m still not sure of his actual potential, would certainly have Jesus over him also.

Can't find the video of it sadly but the goal that really sold me on him was the one for Everton where he plucks the ball out of the sky with one touch and finishes easily past the keeper (think it was a lob?). Very few strikers have the technique to do that - it reminded me a lot of Rooney's touch - when you have a touch like that you can always create space for yourself in the box

For some reason I had this memory from the few times I watched him play of being petulant and wandering all over the pitch - a moment of promise then two or three “what is he doing”’s.
But for Brazil today, he was just super solid, super solid, then magnificent. I didn’t see any poor play mixed in at all. I have not watched enough Spurs to know whether he’s bedding in that well there or not. Does he ever get to play through the middle like that there?

No, with Kane there he only plays as a LW or a RW, first as a sub, then displaced Son for a few games / played more once Kulesevski got injured. He plays well out wide too because he's fast and technically very good but do think playing as a 9 at a team like United would've suited him more. If Kane breaks down he'll get his shot I guess.
I was surprised that no one else was in for him in the summer at £50m, as good and expensive as Vlahovic and Osimhen are, I think he's as good if not better than them

I am really happy for him that he's finally getting a chance on the biggest stage. I'm absolutely gutted still that he left but he was far too good for us in our current state and deserved the move away. For years in the PL he has been one of, if not the most hardworking forward in the league and consistently finds himself at the top of the charts for tackles/recoveries etc. for forwards. Our limited side meant that he didn't score as much as he should have and the way Spurs play/Kane and Son means that he won't be the main man there scoring as much but for Brazil you are able to see that for the right team he's a 1 in 2 striker and his ability to work for the side is immense in helping others get their goals too.

He needs to be starting week in week out as a striker which isn't going to happen at Spurs as Kane is a just a better footballer in every department unfortunately for him

He made so much sense for us. Hard worker, flexible, strong, bit of finesse. Not the most prolific but he'd be damn handy. Ballsed it up.

We quite rightly sorted midfield and added a reliable/quality centre back. We possibly could have dropped the Antony transfer and opted for Richarlison + Gakpo, but Ten Hag wanted his man - which is understanble.

I did say that when he was with us his best season was when Ancelotti played him as a CF behind DCL. I still think that's the best place for him, where he is able to float around and drop when he needs to. He's a nuisance for every team.
Fair play; I’ve got a post in here asking why Spurs even bought him, but he really looks a different player straight through the middle; someone we could’ve done with, even.
Will be interesting to see where his career trajectory goes from here on in.
