Yeah, I can imagine the effect it had in him week in, week out. It was a very popular programme but to attribute it to racism when it wasn’t is wrong. You can call out the bullying with resorting to the race card.
To be fair Baddiel and Skinner they generally took the piss out of everyone, just some jokes obviously stuck around and proved more popular than others.
David Baddiel has been on something of a journey regarding race and antisemitism and is probably more sensitive than most to this sort of stuff now.
You can’t just ignore blackface. It was blatantly racist

It's rare where you have a City game where the team is functioning terribly AND everyone is performing individually shite.

I have no idea either, yet.
It used to be just called impersonations. Loads of people made a living from it and some were really funny.
Nowadays you can really only impersonate someone if you are the same ethnicity and even then you would probably offend someone.
A dead part of comedy. Maybe rightly so.
Maybe it's better we got rid of blackface? Maybe? What has you unconvinced?

Even the 6min isn't gonna save them.

City should be ashamed the amount of money that's on the pitch compared to Saints

They have to, that’s modern football. He’s supposed to be the central pivot but he doesn’t really do anything.
Pep hasn’t moved this team on from the false 9 type domination they’ve used over the last few years and it shows when he has a player like Haaland up top.
Southampton aren’t doing anything special here as every other smaller team City have struggled like this against this season. They’re not being moved around at all
Yup I think the false 9 domination is maybe the right meta at this moment in football but Klopp, Ten Hag, Pep, Xavi all want proper #9s so not sure what the thinking is there. City's four interchanging #10s were pretty insane, no way to mark them at all. Liverpool were better with Firmino as the false 9.

I think maybe the problem is that against equivalent opponents (e.g., City v RM), having a #9 makes a huge difference but against inferior opposition, rotating 10s are a lot better. But you can't have both. If you buy a world-class #9, you are playing him against every opponent esp if he's scoring for fun.

Guardiola doesn’t need League Cups or FA Cups to be fair. He’s probably reached the point SAF reached where he probably gives more a feck about winning the League and the Champions League, and wouldn’t lose any sleep about getting knocked out of the FA Cup or League Cup.

While true I think he, as SAF did, realises the importance of doing well in each competition to bed in new signings to winning trophies and keep competition flowing within the squad.

Without getting giddy, looks like Ten Hag has one hand on his first trophy. I've seen Newcastle in the flesh this season and they were kicking the ball out of play to run the clock down. Taking 30 seconds for a goal kick. Rolling around on the floor after every tackle. I do not fear them in the slightest. We are miles ahead of them in footballing terms.

Great opportunity for some clubs who haven't won anything for a while to get a trophy with City going out.

Nah, he refused to apologise for years (blackface ffs) and only because he's trying to campaign against antisemitism, he was struggling when people kept bringing up his own history of racism which awkwardly he wouldn't address. So he's done it because it helps his new career.
Didn’t know he’d refused to apologise. Surely it’s the decent thing to do when you’ve caused offence.

If football was all about wasting time and keeping it in the corner, Che Adams would probably be the best in the world.
