This is the thing with Rashford. His bottom level can be so bad and a serious detriment to the team. The elite players just don’t have games like this. That second half was actually completely unprofessional. Him and Bruno between them were literally harming us in that second half.

Before his streak most people wanted to sell Rashford and came up with original names like Rashford... during his streak some thought he was as good as Mbappe.

Truth is that he can be a very good player, he just isnt a world class player (yet hopefully). He will have bad games like today. Not because he is injured or cares more about his streak than about his team but just because he is a very good player who sometimes will have a bad game. It will be fine if on his bad days other players make up for his bad game but today nobody in the attack really had a good game.

On the plus side, he genuinely looked pissed off with himself too. I expect ETH to set him straight, we may be out of our faux title race now, but we will still need his goal contributions if we want to secure the CL spots.

Also, was a bit of a weird game, Palace made all our wide players look shite. Garnacho and Antony were completely shut down too. Fecking game raising.

Rashfords biggest problem. Using his confidence the right way. Far too often he starts playing with tunnel vision on the back of good performances.

He needs to be selfish, but he seems to have a hard time balancing when to and when not to be it.

Only United fans could resort to this kind of abuse for one bad performance after carrying our attack to 9 successive wins. feck me.
It's not the bad performance, it's that he wasted numerous promising attacks by being selfish because he wanted to keep his scoring streak going. No excuse for that, ever. Deserves to ride the bench until he understands 3 points are more important than individual statistics.

Exactly and lack of fitness isn't an excuse for being so brainless and selfish.

Didn't seem interested in winning the game.
Was clear that he wanted his goal more than United getting their second. Knew it right then that it would come back to bite us in the arse. Really poor from him. Reminded me of the Rashford from the last 2 seasons. Eth seriously needs to pull him aside and clearly tell him he needs to cut his selfishness out.
Once we conceded he started playing the right passes, so it's not like he could not the whole game.

Worst player on the pitch tonight and cost us points. Hard to get too mad after his amazing form past several games, but still incredibly frustrating.

It’s for the best that his streak is over if it’s going to make him that selfish.

You can excuse a badly timed shot or unlucky finish, but you can't excuse such egoism and putting personal achievements above the team.

He's still relatively young at 25. but this is the point in his career that he has no more excuses and cannot cost the team 2 points by being a selfish child.

Guess it was more important to break that record than to win the game.

He was greedy and selfish all game. I don't know what happened in his style of play today. It was like watching Rashford from last season

The best goalscorer of our time did that shit constantly. Every goalscorer shoots when they probably shouldn’t. That’s how they score goals.

Needs to ride the bench because of one bad game. Our fans never change.

He was the only player scoring .. Once he stopped scoring we drew ...
We need another 20 goal striker

Was poor but he can have a bad game once in a while. Too selfish at the end. He'll learn and grow from that.

Didn't look fit. He has carried the attack single handed. Can't expect him to bail us out every game. Blame the other attacking players

Yeah, pretty much. This season will be a write off if he's injured and playing too much through the pain barrier. We desperately need a striker now, in January. The kind that scores goals.

Great play for the goal but if he's not having his best games, he should take things simple and work ever so hard to get into the game, not sure why he always starts to feel like a superstar who doesn't have to work hard. At least Antony works hard..

I think he met his match physically against a lot of those Palace players. They are a powerful team.

It's not about being a hater, it was a genuine disheartening performance after a brilliant streak. You could see that he is excused from defensive duty and that means he have to compensate by helping the team going forward, instead he was playing like he hates his teammates. Hopefully this will show him that he have to be focused to be an elite player his streak has shown he has the potential to be.

Didn't feel that he was ever into the game tonight. He gets a pass but it cost us as none of our forwards were decent.

One of the things Ten Hag has to address with Rashford is this. What did he say to Noa Lang in that now famous video? "It's our game, not just yours". Couldn't help thinking of this while watching Rashford making bad decision after bad decision.

This excuse again? Seriously, it’s so obvious that it had nothing to do with his fitness.

He wasn't expected to carry the attack but to just play with his teammates. No one is angry with him for not scoring. See the role he played in the Bruno goal, he is very much capable of creating for his teammates when he wants to.

That's a brilliant little spin so well done on that, but he wasted promising positions when he CLEARLY should have kept the ball moving instead of taking on 3-4 defenders. He put his stats before the team and that's a fact no matter how many clever spins you can come up with.

His attitude in the second half was all wrong. Kept trying to beat everyone on his own and ignored so many good passes on the break. Hard to argue with the idea that his form has gone to his head. He’s also never a striker. Never has been, never will be. A real shame because his firm this season has genuinely been fantastic .
