They need to make them better. Like, give me a race where I have 4 laps of fuel and 5 left to go against a bloke with more fuel than he needs on worn tyres. Not only does it challenge your fuel management, but also teaches you defensive techniques to keep a much faster car behind you
Literally anything is better than pressing the accelerator to then coast as much as you
can before you need to tap the accelerator again. I like your suggestion though.

Also whilst I’m in moan mode, why must I wait and watch the cars on one lap magic all start before me for 75 seconds FFS? Can’t it skip?

I have a long weekend to myself so I’ll be trying to grab the last of the circuit experiences. Trying to get 50 online races for the achievement but it’s effort. Too many cnuts and glitches.

I’ve generally really been enjoying the online racing. Haven’t played too much but got into a bit last weekend. I really can’t bring myself to do the long dirt CE in the Americas not the 30 minute and endurance missions. Or a lot of the circuit races that I didn’t do to complete the menu items either for that matter.

We got a Bathurst bop one this week with night day transition which I’m loving. I’m pretty bloody quick there.

FYI - for qualifying, leave your car on the track and walk away for 15 minutes until the sun comes up. I didn’t realise how accurate they’ve made the day/night transition including surface grip levels subject to time of day.

There’s actually considerable complexities to this physics model which I don’t think we all properly appreciate on the face of it because it’s not obvious.

Now that the update is out which has nerfed the Tomahawk which are the best races to grind? I want to get to 12m credits to get the last Le Mans car for the platinum achievement and then I’ll just play it whenever an update is out.

Feet up at home.
Well after a delay of a few months I have finally got this all updated and working with my Logitech wheel and pedals. Was confused as hell only finding the music mini game at first but into the main thing now.

This is gonna take a lot of practice for an old gamer.

It’s actually disgusting that you have to log in everyday to check if legend or used cars are in stock for you to complete achievements / menus. They’ve really pissed me off. I’m sitting with most of the game completed (aside from all cars purchased) and I’m just having to wait for one legend car to become available so I can platinum and the NSX 92 so I can complete a menu item.

Wow! Good work, that’s quite a difficult plat no? Have you been mullering this pretty much since release?
For around 3 months I played it solidly. You don’t need to hit absolutely everything to get platinum, I still need to do the Nurburgring circuit experience lap and the new one that’s gone up. It’s not too difficult to achieve if you’re able to get golds on all licenses. It’s more time consuming than anything as you have to log 50 online races + wait for the legend cars to pop up which means checking in most days to see.

Yeah, that’s what I figured. Kudos anyway!

It’s so far the first iteration of the game where all the golds have eluded me and convinced me I needed a steering wheel setup.

So i made loads of progress at the beginning of the game, got a load of the circuit XP's done and thought id try my luck at the Nurbergring. Golded the sectors but could never gold the full lap. After many hours the best i did was 3 seconds shy. I gave up the game as a result and didn't touch it for a couple of months. Then this week i thought id give it another crack and after a few days of intermittently trying i managed to finally gold it at 2am last night! by 0.34 seconds too. Literally jumped for joy and now i can go back to enjoying the game and finishing the menu books again!

Go on son. I still need to do that. The last thing on the game I need to gold.

I used automatic and TCS 1 aswell on a controller . If i had a wheel and pedals id try manual, but flicking X and square for gears is too unnatural as a driving style for me, and to do it over 6 minutes and 40 is too distracting. But i kept on the arse of the ghost where i was only 2 seconds behind half way round (usually sat around 3+) and then the second half i just remembered where the flat out bits were and over done the brakes on a few safe corners. Everything nearly went slowmotion as i rounded the last corner to see 6.33.00 knowing it was going to go to the wire .

We’re thrilled that Gran Turismo 7 will be a PS VR2 launch title! Through a free upgrade, for those who have already purchased Gran Turismo 7, players will experience all cars and tracks in VR like never before. GT7 in VR takes full advantage of PS VR2’s next gen features. With eye tracking and foveated rendering, players will experience stunning visual fidelity while racing in any of the 450+ cars. While 2-player splitscreen races are not supported in VR, all other races, including online races, will be available. From the Nürburgring to Tsukuba, tracks can be experienced exactly as they are in real life.

This is really great news. GT7 and No mans sky VR are going to keep me busy for a while I reckon.

I can't believe how awesome GT7 is with a steering wheel setup, add VR to that and ...
Which wheel did you go for? I'm really tempted.

I went for the Fanatec DD Pro GT edition with loaded pedals.

I got it second hand off Fleabay, perfect condition and genuinely a game changer. Came with a frame and spare F1 wheel too. F1 games are now incredible whereas before they were so hard to handle and control.

I knew as soon as I played GT7 when it came out I needed a wheel, everything else about the game was at such realistic levels, the controller was it's biggest handicap. Always wanted one but could never justify the expense. Yes it was expensive but it has levelled up every single driving game instantly.

Literally spent the weekend packing my G29 and Playseat away, incoming child so the sacrifice had to be made, didn’t even get 10 months out of it.

Just got a basic wheel and want a setup. When you can get back into it and teach a noob, I'm here my friend.
I've always wanted to drive you off the road all these years.

Serious though, I hated the G29 brake pedal with some passion, it took me a good 6 months to adjust to it and even match my controller pace, finally cracked it and knocked up the missus, sods law.

You have to remind me what I said to elicit this response!

But you'll be grand mate, kids are only as hard as you make them. Trust me on that front, you don't have to be worried and give up your passions.

I'm only kidding, still appreciate the Weaste PS3 cell wars.

Aye it's more of a space issue for now, I had a handy little home office/games room that's now a nursery. I'll get back into it at some point, perhaps I'll finally renovate the garage I've been promising to do for.......3 years.
